The staff and owners are incredibly friendly, making every visit a delightful experience. With two floors of fantastic items and plenty of parking, it's easy to spend hours browsing. “Okay I went here to get pants for work and they did in fact have pants for work. That’s great, but they had that store smell on them. That smell that’s kinda like plastic and it’s not great but you’re like oh it will wash it. ITS STILL THERE. Every time i try to wear these pants to work I have to endure the department store smell. I’ve washed them 7 billion times. Still there. Great pants though”

She handled this rude customer very well. I also work in Customer Service and deal with this and I almost said something because I was getting mad myself. But you’re store associate was great, she had a supervisor take over and she moved off to a different area to help customers.Awesome employee!”

“Store was stuck in the 80s, decor wise. The building owners do not keep up on maintenance there is a large amount of missing ceiling tiles and wet spots. Besides these two minor details in appearance, the store has a good selection of clothes. I believe their prices now match everyone else's. Go if you need quality clothes not Walmart quality.”
“I really liked my experience at this salon in JC penny. I never knew it even existed. It was my very 1st time in there the place was very clean, people were very nice to help. Kayla was my hairstylist 1st time meeting her.she is a very young lady. I was very Pleased with her Service. I went and cut my own hair chopped it up a bit andSHE FIXED IT ! Thank God she knew exactly what to do. She asked the right questions and Got it done right. I’m very pleased with my service I received from Kayla the stylist who did my hair. I believe I found my new hairstylist right there in JC Penny. Who knew they even had a salon in there. I sure DIDNT. We are fairly new to the area. I thought I was going to have a hard time finding my new hair stylist cause I’m very picky with my hair. But NOPE found her already. I sure am glad I went into JC penny that day. “It's Walmart, that's for sure. It's a decent walmart, decent size, clean, good selection of stuff. It's not too busy there, though sometimes it can be. My biggest and pretty much only complaint is that they always only have like 2 registers open, which is fine when it's not busy, but when it is? Prepare to wait. The employees are nice people, never had an issue with an employee. I did however have an issue with a manager once. We wanted to buy fish, and we asked for a fish person, nobody was coming. So the guy working electronics went over for us, and got the fish. His manager came over, and publicly shamed/yelled at the employee who was simply doing his job (helping customers) because he left the electronics department, but yet, there was another person in electronics. I reported the manager and praised the employee. Seriously managers, treat your employees well, bad managers create bad employees. Otherwise, it's a good Walmart.”
“Great choices compared to other stores - prices & selection sooo much better!!! Main problems swirl around: disarrayed shelving, racks, etc. Next, family disagreements regarding purches the better the Price the more you can guarante no teen is going to want to wait to wear said items days, let alone, weeks.”

“I went in for the second time- MY NEW FAV STORE!! Great for kids clothes and shoes- I have four kids, the need to shop around is real- this is THE BEST place so far with a GREAT selection. I usually go to dollar general for quick things- not anymore!! Christmas shopping too- can't wait to start getting things for the kids- saw a TON of cool toys!!!! And most of the time- dollar tree and dollar general's cheap toys break within minutes of my destructive kids having them- these actually look descently made!!!”
“We love Name Brand! I used to shop here all the time when we lived locally. We've moved out of the area and stop in most times that we're in town. You can find tons of bulk snacks for half the price (or cheaper) of what you'd pay at Sams or Costco. You also can find furniture, household items, clothes, baby items and more. “Wilkes Barre. Walmart had a lot of products but a few surprises to me were the lack of variety in some items in the pharmaceutical area; I wanted a BP monitor there was only one brand " Great Value". Secondly, there were no souvenirs not even a button with "Wilkes Barre "stamped on them. Thirdly yet most disappointing, every bag of ours was checked at the door by the lady while everyone else walked by including some folks with items not bagged which are usually subjected to item and receipt comparison. Our bags were opened everything was checked to receipt. Seems like we stuck out not only as out-of-towners but possibly thieves. My buddies took it in stride but I was not happy as folks walking by stared at us like we committed a crime.
Shame on you Walkes Barre's Walmart”
