So just recently I ran into a major issue with my car, that I feel is something that really should get out there, if anything for awareness? For the last few years I have owned, and by owned I mean took incredibly good care of a 2017 Chevrolet Sonic. Highest grade oil changes, new tires when needed, maintenance when needed and I never let a check engine light go. The car has had two recalls in its lifetime for an acknowledged faulty fuel pump and exhaust problem. Both recalls I took right in for immediate replacement. About a month ago I received a letter from Chevrolet telling me that my vehicle’s make/model has a known issue with the Turbo Engine's failing prematurely. They explained the failure is due to faulty manufacturing, and thus they have decided to add on an "extended" warranty. Well, my car was nearly 10,000 miles past the warranty cut off. So, I took the vehicle to my mechanic who checked everything front to back, to be 100% sure the problem was the Turbo Engine referenced on the letter from Chevrolet. After looking at everything he not only told me the rest of the car is in really great condition, but the faulty engine was definitely the problem. So, I called Valley Chevrolet to have it serviced. They did a diagnosis on the vehicle, which they charged me $150, strictly to confirm. After a few hours I received a call that it was definitely the known issue with my Turbo Engine. I asked Valley Chevrolet if there was anything they could do considering the circumstances and they told me I would need to call Chevrolet/GM customer service. I called them and have had an open ticket with them for just over two weeks. Chevrolet/GM customer service told me that the decision to fix the vehicle and honor an extension on my warranty was up to the dealership, and they were completely against it. I was told that Valley Chevrolet is at the mercy of a warranty 3rd party company that can make the decision to fix the vehicle or force the full repair costs on me. In the end Valley Chevrolet denied helping me, and I have been ghosted, ignored, failed to be followed up with and basically not given any respect by Chevrolet/General Motors customer service. I was quoted nearly $3,000 in repairs to cover the parts and labor to fix my vehicle. Since I was 18 years old I have always driven Chevy vehicles. My first and second cars were Cavaliers. My car before the Sonic was a Cobalt. I have always sworn by Chevrolet and spoke nothing but good things my entire life. As a long-time devoted customer of Chevrolet, this situation presented an opportunity for the company to truly demonstrate their commitment to customer satisfaction. However, I was disappointed to find that when faced with the chance to assist me, Chevrolet ultimately chose to distance themselves from the problem, indicating it was not their responsibility. This experience has led me to reevaluate my loyalty to them, and truthfully never look back at purchasing Chevrolet or GM vehicle again. Valley Chevrolet told General Motors that because I didn’t purchase the vehicle from them, and get all of my service with them they opted not to help me at all. They blocked me on Facebook and social media, untagging themselves from all of my posts. When they had the option to step up and help someone, they chose to hide and deny. Go somewhere else!

The wait for normal auto maintenance, oil change is ridiculous, also trying to make an appointment is at least 2 weeks out.

Very helpful, love that they dont talk down to a woman. I'm not the type to be talked down to by far, but I hear them with other women as well. Nice asset.
