“I've been attending classes at Level Red since 2019 and love this studio. If you're considering, here is a quick breakdown:Classes: They offer an ample amount of options ranging between 30-60-90 mins from early mornings through the evening, which make fitting in a workout as easy as possible for you. The classes are intense with no minute wasted, but you're also welcome to go at your own pace and modify as needed.Teachers: They have a lot of instructors who each have their own style. Some are more advanced and quickly-paced while others cater more to beginners. The variety helps keep things fresh and challenging.Community: The studio makes great efforts to build a positive sense of community. Just watch their social media; they're constantly cheering on their students. The membership is also diverse, which personally makes me feel extra comfortable and welcome. The studio also sets fun monthly goals with a reward to keep you extra motivated and accountable. All in all, really can't recommend them enough!”

“My wife was attending Tedesco Body Shop her personal trainer was NAT. She asked me to attend her fitness training sessions. This is what I learned over the past few months about why you need a good fitness trainer:1. Knowledge – Nat is very knowledgeable in his field. This saves me time on researching workouts. Nat is passionate about helping you become a better version of yourself.2. Motivation – Nat takes his job serious. Nat is always in an upbeat mode. He is approachable.3. Listens – Nat listens when I say I have pain. Nat finds ways to adapt the training routine around the pains I may be experiencing. He is flexible to my issues on the fly.4. Nat shows great Empathy and patience when teaching new fitness routines. All in all, I have found a knowledgeable fitness trainer that listens. My work outs will continue to be at Tedesco Body Shop.”

“Wherever you go, the personnel are all the same - top notch, second-to-none. I walked in and immediately knew that I wanted to be a member of this gym in particular. Case in point, "Wendy" couldn't have been more helpful. She was an exemplar in courtesy, professionalism and expedience. I am a tech dinosaur. On startup, smoke occasionally billows out from my computer. My occupational therapist often checks me for opposable thumbs. Wendy told me exactly what to do, in order to change my account. Worked like a charm. The gym itself is in a financially distressed area, but it's like walking into an oasis. This gym screams cleanliness and state-of-the-art equipment. Honestly, I feel fortunate to have discovered this gym.”

“My granddaughter is taking swimming lessons here. EVERY instructor not only wants her to learn to swim but is so attentive, encourages, and praises her. And to me too, as I watch the progress she's made. Awesome people there! A girl who was afraid of water can't wait to go each week!Besides swimming classes, they offer family memberships and have great exercise programs for seniors, including yoga, spinning, and more. It is an amazing place with amazing people. I wish I could name them all. Just know you are ALL greatly appreciated for all you do. Thank you! (My special thanks to Jeannie and Veronica)”

“Fitness Factory is my favorite gym in Pittsburgh! It's an old-school bodybuilding gym located in Shadyside. This gym is always kept clean and any damaged equipment is fixed the next day. The staff and members are extremely friendly and always greet people with a nice smile. My favorite part is the unique and electric decorations all throughout the gym! Not to mention, their equipment is top-notch. FF has outstanding machines that isolate certain muscles from different angles. (perfect for bodybuilding!) I am proud to be a member of this gym because its uplifting atmosphere motivates me to show up every single day. If you are ever in the area, I recommend getting a membership or even just a day pass at Fitness Factory!”

“Great facility, fair (if not cheap for Crossfit) prices, and most importantly, fantastic people. The owners, the other coaches, and the athletes are friendly and helpful. There are elite level athletes, but the community is equally welcoming to beginners like me just trying to stay healthy.I don't go anymore, but I was passing back through town and recalled the great experiences I had here. Of the six boxes I've been a member of over the years, I think of Crossfit Pittsburgh as the standard to meet.”

“Pittsburgh Fit is a great gym primarily because of the INCREDIBLE coaching staff. I see amazing athletes of all shapes and sizes there--but I also see (and am one of the) many people who are really just starting from square one (or, maybe, minus one ( : ) Their classes are motivating and everyone receives individualized attention. I have only been there a month but am really looking forward to seeing how I feel as the year continues. Try an intro class and you will see what I mean.....”

“Decent place to workout at, if you don't mind a dirty gym, not all but some of the younger generation just want stay on their phones and not do what they were hired for. No paper towels or cleaning fluid in machine equipment dirty and weights out in aisle too be tripped over plus you can wear street clothes and nobody says anything. A lot to be desired!”

“Oh, I know just the personal trainer for anyone. I had the pleasure of working with a personal trainer named Marty, and he is truly well-rounded. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable about fitness and exercise, but he also has a deep understanding of nutrition and overall wellness. He takes a holistic approach to training, considering not just your physical goals, but also your mental and emotional well-being. I am approaching 70 years of age in January and was introduced through my daughter in her 30s.Marty is skilled in various training techniques and can tailor workouts to your specific needs and preferences. Whether you're looking to build strength, improve flexibility, or lose weight, he can create a personalized program that suits you perfectly. He's patient, supportive, and always pushes you to do your best while ensuring proper form and technique. What sets Marty apart is his ability to motivate and inspire. He genuinely cares about his clients' success and goes above and beyond to help them achieve their goals. He's a great listener and understands that everyone's journey is unique, so he adapts his approach accordingly.I highly recommend working with Marty or any trainer at Shape Training if you're looking for a well-rounded personal training that will not only help you achieve your fitness goals but also empower you to live a healthier and happier life overall.”

“As a collegiate athlete looking to find a way to get back in shape; once college was over. I found Rugged Peaks to be the best decision I have made. It gives you the challenge needed to reach your goals and there are many events that can bring your competitive edge out again (however that's not the main focus). The community within the gym is super supportive and the owners are willing to work with you at any point of your fitness journey. I find myself needing to modify some of the workouts; Adam and Jamie, are always helpful and knowledgeable of ways you can still get an effective workout even if you need to modify. My confidence in myself and just overall boost of energy throughout my day to day has increased significantly since I made the leap to get back into fitness. I think its also super important to keep in mind, that even though CrossFit is intimidating it truly is for people at all stages of their fitness journey. I love how the main aspect of CrossFit is to ensure that your movements are correct, in aims to limit injuries.”

“I've been to many gyms that are privately owned, and they are okay. They always seem to be run down and have beat up equipment. I love how Planet Fitness maintains their equipment and keeps everything clean. It's a better atmosphere too. You don't feel like you are being judged constantly or watched.”

“I'm a member; I have been for 3+ years. This gym has every thing you need to get in shape for the first time or stay in shape if you're already an experienced trainee. The premises is very safe & well maintained with more than adequate parking. The club itself is clean with very clean bathrooms; equipment is very well maintained in terms of both functionality & cleanliness. They offer cardio equipment such as 6 treadmills, and 6 elliptical exercise machines. As for weight lifting equipment, they offer dumbbells from 5-100 pounds, as well as resistance bands of all resistance levels for all trainees. Snap Fitness also offers a a bench press, an incline bench press, a Smith machine (which can be used to perform virtually any type of exercise), and a decline bench press, among other equipment available on site. These items are all very popular. The gym also offers many machines that simulate all types of weight lifting exercises. The gym's manager offers limited group fitness classes. He is very knowledgeable about matters of fitness; in addition, he is quite the pleasant conversationalist. I've always known him to very helpful, patient and gentle with beginners; however if you are an advanced trainee who needs someone to push you, he can do that also. I'm sure Todd would love for you to join his group class. Most people are too busy working out to even notice you anyway. There is no 'gym intimidation' or judgement; It's just not that type of environment. Members run the whole range of shapes and sizes. It really doesn't matter what you look like as long as you have a nice attitude and go there to work out, no one will ever have a cross word or a nasty look for you. It is a very comforting environment. in fact, I had my mother join a few months back she is in her mid 60s and not in good shape. She had never actually worked out in her life. She just went in to the gym and started her workouts very light, such as walking on the treadmill at 2.0 miles an hour for only 10 minutes, and nobody looked or said anything. She had said previously that she was intimidated to go there because everyone would be in better shape than her, as well as younger; well she quickly found out was not true. Within 2 or 3 visits, she felt totally comfortable there; and she goes every day 😄. All ages are happily welcomed & accepted! Just this morning, I worked out alongside a woman in her 70s, 2 others likely in their 60s, several gentlemen in their 50s, & a man in his late 30s. Other times, I find myself working out with high school or college students, as well as young professionals. I'm 40 and have a very wide cross-section of friends at the gym. The gym is never crowded; I often go at various times of day or when is convenient, but never at a set time. And I have noticed the least crowded times are about 1 pm or 4 pm. At those times, you are highly likely to be alone, or have 1-2 others sharing the facilities with you. The most crowded times are 11 am or 6-6:30 pm. Even then, you are likely to be sharing the gym with possibly as many as 12-15 other trainees. And the gym is capable of comfortably accommodating about 30 trainees. Crowding is never an issue. The fact that the gym is open 24 hours/day prevents a big log jam at typically busy times. You can go easily at 5 or 6 pm when most people are rushing to 'hurry up and wait' at their gym, and have a great workout at your gym, not being hurried along, waiting for equipment, & generally having an unpleasant experience. I've never had to wait more a minute to use equipment. People will let you 'work in' with them. Sharing is the norm.”
