Only ski area open when we came to town. Staff was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Everything laid out very well. Wish they took cash, but other than that it was wonderful. Highly recommend!

What a nice job by @skijfbb to get things ready for everyone. The snow was perfect to learn to ski on and get ready for this season. It was a good day to test new gear out and knock the dust off. Kudos to the crew for great conditions. Snow was on point.Cheers to this friendly staff as they also had the new Epic app working at the lifts, lol Mario Coins for days. They also had the resort pay function working as well in the shops.

Suprisingly good set of runs for a small mountain but don’t like the way EPIC run the resort. Profit over service. They don’t open all the lifts even when there are queues (I assume to save money). You get harassed (emails every day) about upgrading passes for the next season and no option to change your mind (despite being 5 months away from the start of the season).

Have to say was not impressed with facilities or conditions when we got there but the mountain won me over. Has a nice layout for a good full day of skiing.

We had a great time. The runs are a little less challenging than you might expect based on their ratings, but the blacks on the far right still offer plenty of challenge. We got quite a bit of "poconos pavement" in the late afternoon, but considering all the other resorts were fully closed, you cant hardly complain.

Okay, we went to Jack Frost last week and were told this was the worst season of snow. They also said they were closing for the season in a week or two. I was super disappointed that this is on epic pass. We are more experienced/intermediate snowboarders and this was not the best park. The black/blue were okay, but definitely not the same in other parks (which I should not compare). The snow was ice. The runs were not long at all. The perks of the place is it's not crowded, lifts move quickly and pricing is very reasonable.

We spent two days here so that the kids could have lessons and we could have a chance to ski. I cannot tell you how amazed we were at our sons instructor, Carl! He needs to be running the ski program and teaching the other instructors how it is done. He got our son from wedge sking to parallel in one lesson! I didn't recognize him! He had confidence and control in just two hours!!! He also spent extra time explaining what he did and why and how we can support his new skill. I have never had such a comprehensive ski lesson experience. While we enjoyed our time skiing on our own we most enjoyed watching our kids get lots of hood experience. Their green circle trails were prefect for beginners to budding intermediate. The blue squares were great for them too! Perfect for new and beginner skiers. Carl Carl Carl! Ask for Carl! I hope he is running the place when you visit.

For it not having snowed much in PA, the fake snow was great. I usually don’t like skiing in fake snow but fake snow is better than no snow. This is a great place for beginners as the beginner slopes are very easy to go down. But, the one lift that serves the 3 beginner slopes gets extremely crowded (and they give preference to the ski school students so that backs up the line a lot as well). The intermediate and advanced slopes are much less crowded and certain lifts have barely any wait. These slopes are super fun, very wide, and a good length. Also many of the slopes were open. The rental area is very large and organized (the lines run quickly). The lodge is long and has plenty of tables as well as seats. They even give out s’mores at 1pm on the weekend! For around a 2 hour drive from NY, this place cannot be beat! Also you can go to big boulder at any time to continue skiing. The intermediate and advanced slopes at big boulder seem much easier than the same level ones in Jack Frost. Also many of the advanced slopes were closed at big boulder but they were open at Jack Frost. Lastly while snow tubing was closed at Jack Frost, it was open at big boulder.

Save your money! I've been to a few resorts in the Pocono area and this is not it. The resort itself is in dying need of an update. The trails are terrible, it's just straight down with no fun windy trails and very short. When I went It seemed like they didn't even blow in the morning so all day I was ice boarding. I was here in past years and wasn't a fan of this place and I was here very recently and I'm still not a fan. Only plus is the staff, they're very friendly and helpful. If you're looking to ski/board in the Pocono area I'd recommend Blue mountain or camelback. Blue is on the pricy side but worth it.

We arrived around 10am on weekend. There were 10-minutes dropping off parking available. Check-in was quick and easy. Different from most ski mountains, here we skied down first, then took the lift back up afterwards. The lodge was very crowded and quite noisy. There was background music playing, which made noise situations worse. Although we saw cleaning staff working inside, women’s and men’s rooms got wet floors again very quickly. It closed at 4pm, so no ski under the lights.

We went to Jack Frost for the first time and had an okay experience. As beginners the slopes were good but the blue / easy slopes were more challenging / steeper. The problem we had was the ski lift had technical issues so we lost an hour of ski time due to this. We also had to either go down a steep slope (hard for beginners / intimidating) or climb up the mountain. We ended up climbing the mountain but we’re again disappointed in losing slope time as they had closed the beginner slopes for the rest of the duration.

F minus Vail!! I expected more. Snow was terrible. It's been a bad year for snow but this was unacceptable. Ice ice ice. People were very friendly but the condition of the slopes stunk. Narrow runs, some very challenging as blues. Food was marginal and the lodge hasn't been updated in 50 years. It's the 50 year anniversary and it shows!!!! Not going back- I expect more from Vail.
