I always love stopping in to see what sweet little find there is to be had. The owner has always been helpful and kind even when there are many customers. He is always pleasant and incredibly knowledgeable. I love that there are places one can still go and see/touch things rather than having to shop online for merchandise sight unseen. I have been there many times and I have NEVER witnessed anything but patience and kindness with a genuine willingness to help.

Absolutely LOVE this gift store. Covers a variety of gift subjects: home, women, men, babies, food items, and they carry the best stock of greeting cards for all occasions. My favorite store❣Linda and David are always helpful and kind. Sales are great and prices reasonable for a gift store. I never walk out empty handed. Did I say it's my fave?

Agree with other reviewers. I assume it’s the owner, not at all friendly. He was over the top nasty. Put our merchandise bank and left after 10 minutes.

The store is cute enough, but it is not worth the downright rude treatment from the people who work there! My family member was berated by the man at the counter for simply asking him to say something again because she didn't hear him. We were shocked! Someone needs to teach these people some basic manners if they hope to survive in a retail environment. Buyer beware!

Just bought something here and the person checking me out was super rude and threatened to sell it full price instead of for the sale price for no reason - like what the heck I'm literally buying something here and they seem to be mad at me? I don't get it.

I have shopped in this store numerous times. Really not impressed. Prices are extremely overpriced. The reason I am writing this review is because of the owners. The man can be hot and cold. If you are purchasing something then he is okay to deal with. But the problem is the woman that owns the store. Last Saturday I stopped by as she was taking down the tables for the “sidewalk sale”. It was about 3:15pm. I politely asked her if she was still open. She literally barked at me stating “yes, we are open but we are closing shortly!” Very apparent she did not want to be bothered by me. I walked into the store and immediately turned around to get away from her. That was not the first time I have seen her rude behavior. She lost a good customer in me. I would rather shop at Sheila’s Specialty Gift Store in Cranberry. They have many of the same products at reasonable prices. Not dealing with her or her rude husband again.

I use to love this store until a friend and I stopped in only to be greeted by a EXTREMELY RUDE WOMAN ( the owner) screaming,"we are closed can’t you read! There is a huge sign outside saying we are closed!!” Which by the way WAS NOT THERE! As she was screaming at us she approached us waving her hands shooing us towards the door. Which by the way we were only two feet away from. Within a few seconds of entering we realized they were doing some work in the store. And were about to turn and leave BUT THE OWNER WAS SO UNBELIEVABLY RUDE!!! Which was so unnecessary. My friend and I will never patronize her business again. Nor will our friends and family. As a business owner you should be more respectful. Your lack self control and respect just cost you hundreds if not thousands of dollars in revenue.

I arrived at the store 15 minutes before closing on a weekday. I had rushed there from work in an effort to find some thing for a gift exchange. The owner or the person working there on Dec. 8 obviously didn’t want me to come in then told me he wanted to hurry up and close because he had been there for a long time and lock the door behind me. Two different people knocked on the door to see if they could get in and he ignored them. I thought I could have at least enough time to shop for 15 minutes but he rushed me so much that I ended up telling him that he was making me uncomfortable and that he needed to let me out. You try to shop small business and then this is the result .

I was not pleased by how my 13 year old son was berated and humiliated for using the store restroom which did not have Employees Only sign on the door. It would have been enough to simply say the restroom was not public but he kept going on and on about it very loudly. Won't be back.

I love shopping at Shepherd's! It's always fun and the merchandise is uniquely displayed and affordable. Their events are fun to attend and they give back to the community in so many incredible ways!I would like to respond to a comment here by a person stating she was "disgusted with how a customer was treated." I want to respond to this because what that person wrote is so untrue is makes me angry. I was in the store also at the time this incident happened and did NOT witness what this person says at all! In fact, I congratulated the owner on how she handled the situation. She politely told the customer three times that she needed to wear a mask while in the store and not a face shield. She explained that according to the CDC website face shields were for protecting eyes and not to be used to prevent the spread of a virus. She explained that although Target and Walmart didn't stop her from shopping, if the customer wanted to shop at Shepherd's she needed to wear a mask. She gave the customer other options for shopping: using the web, doing curbside, calling in her order. There was no yelling. There was definitely nothing rude about how it was handled. I think the owner handled this extremely well. The customer that wrote the negative review should be censored. Some people just like to complain. I was in the store the other day and found out that they believe the customer in question was recently in the store wearing a mask.

Disgusted with how I witnessed a customer being treated today by the owner. A middle-aged woman was attempting to support this small business and shop this establishment; however she was abruptly and rudely turned away for wearing a multi-level plastic face shield, in lieu of a cloth mask due to a stated medical condition. Rather, than let the appropriately masked individual to shop, the owner berated the woman, embarrassed her by screaming at her, and demeaning her in front of other customers. I spoke with the woman, afterwards, who was almost in tears. How can owners or stores have complete disregard for Americans with disabilities? In addition, how can a person who was wearing, what I too know was adequate, if not better, than cloth covering be turned away from a PUBLIC venue. I will not shop Shepards, nor will the woman I had the pleasure of talking with today, or her extended friends and family. In today's COVID environment, a little kindness and demonstration of customer service would have made a world of difference.
