10AM - 4PM
60 S 6th St, Reading“Let me start off by saying that...I am not a BIG TIME Model Railroad Hobbyist in terms of Size of Layout and $$$ spent...BUT...these guys have made it MUCH EASIER over the last couple of yrs to PACK AS MUCH "BANG FOR MY BUCK" INTO MY 4'X6' SEASONAL "N" GAUGE LAYOUT!!!
Steve, Bob (and any others there) are always RIGHT ON THE BUTTON with Answers and Guidance, inside is VERY CLEAN and ORGANIZED, Plenty of what you're looking for (Not just Model RR either...All other Hobbies), Avg. to Better Prices and some HARDER TO FIND STUFF!
Only CONS to this shop is that they cut back on DAYS/HOURS yrs back (Just like every other Hobby Shop) but are still BETTER THAN THE REST...And they DON'T RUSH YOU OUT AROUND CLOSING TIME, until you get what you need! (The LATER is usually a PET PEEVE of mine!) The other CON is that the City of Reading has GONE WITH "TOTALLY APP DRIVEN PARKING" so a POCKET BULGING WITH QUARTERS WON'T HELP...BUT A "SMARTPHONE WITH THE APP" WILL...if you want to spend more than 5 mins! NOTE: THE STORE HAS NO CONTROL OVER THE LATER ISSUE!
"KUDOS BIG TIME GUYS!!!"...(My Wife even likes going in there now...which is a BIG PLUS for you guys...$$$...lol)”
“I have always had a top tier experience here. I willingly travel 2 hours one way just to take my toys here, knowing they are the best around. If I could rate 6/5 I would.”
“Had a great selection of pillows, blankets, rugs, chairs and wall art! Found the perfect bedding to match my room. Also definitely a great place to get toys and beds for dogs. The employees were very nice as well. They helped me find my boyfriend who was in the back corner looking at car stuff. LOL”
“A bookstore with a passion for reading for all ages. There are not too many bookstores around today, although this store is my go-to for business, pleasure, and fun for the kids. There is an abundance of children's books. Also, an eatery serving Starbucks and local favorites.”
9:30AM - 9:30PM
1665 State Hill Rd, Wyomissing“Store is small but lots of items available for less than $5. Some items might not worth but some are really worth such as Basketball, Soccer balls, Dumbbells, Kids Toys etc.
Each items labeled clearly with price. Staff are so welcoming at checkout. Self checkout also available.
As usual lots of snacks and eatable items near the checkout path, so kids insists parents to buy them.
Entrance door is manual, so push/pull needed to open.
They accept all type of payments including cash/card etc.
Plenty of parking available and it is free.”
“The store was packed with stuff and it seemed a bit disorganized and hard to predict where a given item would be. I did like the great prices on their books though.”
“Store manager is always pleasant and helpful. Engages in conversation with customers that enhance an otherwise bland experience. Sadly, this gaming conglomerate is going the way of the dodo, because even after all these years corporation has no true understanding of the consumer in which they are trying to garner. It's almost as if they just don't care. That's sarcasm by the way. They don't care. It's sad that there are employees that do.”
“Went in on a Saturday with my cousin just to browse, found some nice old school matchbox cars and PSP games. Really nice old game systems like SNES and PS1 for decent prices, including controllers. Definitely recommend”
