Came here after we left another pottery place. The owner was extremely kind to us even though it was very busy. He managed to find space for us, let us look around for pieces and then explained and made recommendations for the pieces we chose. My 6 yr old granddaughter had a lot of fun! She was so happy we came here and can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend The Art Room! Can’t wait to see the finished pieces!

My mom and I had a fantastic experience! Brian was a gem to our day and was super helpful and friendly! The options available make selecting a fun piece easy to do and we had a nice selection of music to listen to! Thank you to Brian and his pup Gigi for a fabulous time!

Have never experienced this level of pure discomfort in any public setting in my life. My sisters and I paid for tickets to attend an event at The Art House. The ticket included painting a ceramic pottery piece and (the exciting part - getting a permanent bracelet from DeLune Gems which if you haven't heard of or been you absolutely must go. Her customer service is amazing and every single thing in her store is perfection.) This ticket also came with food and drink which was great. The ticket said 12-5. We showed up around 12:30 ish and it was busy but still the atmosphere was fun and the owner of The Art Room was helpful. As the day went on and more and more customers were coming to this event and the owner was visibly getting overwhelmed which is understandable. This is when it all goes down hill. My sisters and I had finished our pottery. My one sister had just gotten her bracelet and I was next and in the chair. While the owner of DeLune Gems was carefully and dutifully helping me pick a style and informing me of each bracelet, the Art RoomOwner came over and literally verbally assaulted her. It began by him telling her that she needed to hurry up and limit what customers could get. She politely explained she wanted each customer to get what they paid for and she couldn't rush the process, as she wanted to ensure the quality was good. This made the Art Room Owner visibly very angry and he started swearing at her in front of my sisters and I, saying she was a "f****ing mess" and she was just "sitting on her ass"....when that was the whole point of her being there - to sit and do every persons individual bracelet. She rightfully so was very upset and shocked by this as was I. My sisters and I were uncomfortable for hours after the event - I can't imagine how the DeLune owner must have felt to have to stay there for 4 or so more hours. I don't even want to go back for my pottery because I still feel attacked even though it wasn't directed at me. It was 100% inappropriate, capricious, aggressive and wrong. Will never be returning and definitely not recommending. *also, I posted this review to his Facebook, he blocked me which deleted my review, then proceeded to post screenshots of other good reviews from the weekend. **I think it's also important to note that I have never in my life made a formal complaint or took the time to review anyone or any business ever. But this was scary and extremely inappropriate.

Yesterday at The Art House in West Reading, PA, my sisters and I attended an event involving pottery painting and DeLune Gems' permanent bracelets. The event was from 12-5, we showed up around 12:30. It was pretty busy but the atmosphere was good, with food and drinks. After painting our pottery pieces we began picking out our bracelets. As we were getting our bracelets done, all of which took about 5-10 min maximum to chose the bracelet, gem, clasp, fit, and then put the bracelet on, the Art House owner made comments to the De Lune owner about being stressed and telling her to hurry up and limit what customers could get. The De Lune owner explained she wanted each customer to get what they paid for and she couldn't rush the process, as she wanted to ensure the quality was good. The Art Room owner responded with harsh and disrespectful comments, in front of my sisters and I. He told her to she was a mess and that he was running the event while she "sat on her ass." We were extremely uncomfortable and felt terrible for De Lune's owner as she was so polite and working with a customer the entire time we were there, with no breaks. He didn't try to alleviate the situation and/ or address the participants at all to explain what was going on or provide ideas/ solutions but rather just yelled at the woman he was collaborating with and made it her fault. Witnessing his unprofessional behavior left us with no intention of returning to The Art House.

This was my husband and I ‘s first date in a while and we decided to try pottery painting at the Art Room. We loved our experience! Brian made the process so fun and simple for two people who have never done pottery painting before! He gave us all confidence and compliments we needed to enjoy our time out! We can’t wait to do this again!

I love bringing my daughter here and she LOVED the week long camp they have. She come home with MULTIPLE projects each day and got to visit a variety of local spots on “The Ave”. Brian (and Gigi) do a lot for these kiddos at camp and I appreciate that they have a licensed nurse on staff as well!!! Highly recommend for camp or just a drop in visit!!

Very poor experience very expensive for what you get and not very personable. Miss leading advertising. My kids did the Mario and Peach greet and did not have enough products for what was advertised. Spent 50 dollars on 2 ceramics that I am sure I could have bought at the dollar tree. (All We heard about was how much it cost them to book Mario and Peach, $1000 dollars for 2 hrs, and then bragging about how they had 100 kids in the first hour, which is why they supposedly ran out of mushrooms, which was the advertised product) * good for them the price they charged for junk and dried up paint the characters are paid for. Then the ceramics were not even sprayed properly. My daughters was left on the table after we went back an hr later it was still there, we had to remind them to spray it. This should not have been the case for a $25 2inch ceramic figure. Just very very disappointed. Will not be giving them anymore business.oUpdate !!!! You are saying that i came 20 minutes before the even ended and that I was charged 30 dollars. Yet I have a printed receipt time stamped for 12:52( which is 1 hr and 8 minutes before the mario even ended) and also if you say you charge me 30 dollars my receipt shows my card was charged $52. Do I get a refund. And if your ceramics are hand made !!!! Wow !!!! Also we had to try and find someone to retreieve my 25 dollar items which one was not even taken to get sprayedit was still on the table 1hr after we did it because there was noone maning the table it was very poorly staffed. How can we complain to get it fixed when there is noone to complain to. !!!!!!

Overpriced. The lady working there didn't seem to know anything about her job, and answered "Honestly, I don't know" to everything... Including what colors looked like when fired in the kiln, questions about inventory, and if mugs could be microwaved. She gave the excuses that she only worked two days a week - but it was clear she didn't take time to familiarize herself with the fundamental requirements of the job. Items were priced "incorrectly" so we were told one price and then told we had to pay more. We were given one mason jar 1/4 full of water for a large table with 4 painters. I couldn't even reach it. When we asked for napkins, the lady said she didn't know if they had any... And then never checked. It boasts being BYOB, and yet she didn't know if they had a corkscrew; and again, didn't look for one. All the gem paints were either mislabeled or missing a label completely. You didn't know what colors they were! There were no samples of the regular paint colors to look at. We had no idea what paints to chose and what our projects would look like... And there was maybe 20 colors in total - all almost empty. All the brushes were a frayed mess. Need I go on? Okay, I will. We asked if "the owner" who apparently had all the answers and knew how to solve the mystery of which colors were which, could come and answer some questions, because we knew he was there... And she said, again, "I don't know, I think he's upstairs in his apartment", and again, checked no further. That is until he popped in to tell us we needed to pay more to complete "a set"... The pieces of this "set" were priced separately and did not indicate they were a set. Are shoe prices marked per shoe? Is the price total for both? We had 4 painters, one piece each, and we were looking at a bill of at least $130. They were all very small items. A couple little mushrooms, a toothpick holder, a small star shaped plate, and a small bear. Crazy. This is a very poorly managed and poorly staffed business. I hope they learned something from our visit, because we actually got up and left. They were making us sit there and discuss the incorrect pricing, before we could begin... Killed the mood of the evening. So we didn't paint. We went and got drinks and dinner for a fraction of the cost.

My son and I absolutely love this place! There’s a huge selection of glazes and handmade pieces to choose from & considering the cost of materials glazing firing etc everythings pretty reasonably priced. There’s something special about creating a tangible memory with the people you love.. there’s not many local places that offer that. & gotta love the byob & being able to have food delivered when we’re there!

We LOVE it here. One of my favorite places to bring my son & husband or have a ladies night with cocktails while we paint. You won’t regret going and bringing out your creative side while having a blast. Brian and staff are beyond attentive and go above and beyond to show they love what they do and they want you to love it too.

The Art Room is a great place to paint pottery. My Grandson and I come often. Brian is always so patient with him and is a fantastic help when it comes to choosing colors. I come by myself too, it is a great place for me relax and get some paint therapy. There is a large variety of pottery to choose from and lots of other things to do as well. Add this to your "to do list" and you won't be disappointed.
