“This place is the best. They’ve got the widest selection of skate products I’ve ever seen and I’ve been to a lot of shops. Tons of decks from companies big and small. All the shoes you want. Really nice clothing selection, along with hard goods like wheels, trucks, and bearings. In my experience there is always a good independent skate video on while you shop. But besides the products, this place is a community center for skateboarding. You won’t find locals meeting up in a corporate mall store. At Holistic, skaters come here to meet up and explore the city, to eat food together, to spend time together and keep their boards going. I’ve seen kids come in off the street and a skateboard has literally changed their life. Skateboarding gives people a sense of meaning and a reason to stay away from the negativity that can overtake life. The owner JD is 100% committed not only to skateboarding but also to the Reading community. He makes sure all are welcome no matter who you are. This place is top notch and you have to check it out. Even if you don’t skate you can find a great outfit here. And if you haven’t been to Reading before, JD or whoever is working the shop will give you suggestions on local food and things to do. “Tonight my daughter and I were at the mall and I was looking for sneakers. Now of course I was in my work clothing so it didn't look like I wore sneakers but still. So we went into foot locker and there were three associates standing in the middle talking. No one said hello or anything. Then as I was looking at shoes not one person came up and said a word to me. I even looked over at them and nothing so I left. Then I came into Villa and as I walked on someone greeted us. Then while at the shoes one lady was super nice and then a guy seen me going shoes and came right over and said can I help. I ended up getting a pair of sneakers and even asked his opinion on some stuff. Then when checking out the lady was super nice.”

“My first pair of Red Wing boots!
The young lady that helped me on August 8th around 2:30 was incredibly pleasant and helpful. She showed me options for boots, helped measure my feet and gate for insoles and was just overall nice and helpful. She even pointed out a sale promotion that they had so I ended up paying less than I expected so I bought an extra pair of their insoles. FYI Red Wing insoles are the best I've experienced and help with knee, foot and hip pain while standing on hard surfaces for long periods of time = highly recommended! Thank you to that young lady! I hope you get the credit you deserve!”
“My mother and I went there looking for rocker sneakers for me due to my wearing a rocker walking boot due to an ankle fusion. They did not have rocker sneakers BUT there were other awesome sneakers and sandles,which I'll never be able to wear again ?, but the man at the door that day saved me from having a horrible accident. I needed to use the restroom but it was for employees only, I whispered that I wear a diaper and really needed to use it, he was nice enough to let me. “My girlfriend and I went to visit this store for the first time. Very cool store. There were too many things we wanted to buy lol! A lot of the reviews list about pricing, which the prices are high, but that's normal in the world of western wear. We will be back to look at the boots once more. The staff there was very nice and friendly. We were asked if we needed any help, and left to do our own looking around. There was a gentleman there, which we presume was a general manager of some sort. He was keeping a good eye on the store, and seemed knowledgeable on the products being sold. He helped out a couple customers here and there, and seemed like a very nice person. We had no issue with customer service. In fact I signed up for the rewards program right then and there. We left the store with a hat that I bought! Will definitely go again.”
“I had the most amazing experience here. I had foot surgery and afterwards,I bought a pair of Nike Airmax. I never wore them, but several months went by and for some reason my foot is just different and many shoes don’t fit right. Without hesitation, they helped me out and got me into the right pair of shoes for my needs and went above and beyond. When most people in the corporate world say “sorry, there’s nothing we can do”, the great mom and pop stores say “let’s see how we can help you”. The best store around!!! Thanks guys!!!”
