Water dripping with a yellow ooze, got all in and on the outside of a storage unit, the tops the unit shouldn't be open if the roof leaks, valuables could be absolutely destroyed, place used to be a butchers the smell was horrible

Easiest process I’ve ever experienced with a storage company. The online process was a breeze and the employees went above and beyond to make sure I had all the information I needed for my move in date. 10/10 would recommend!

Wow! The ability to reserve a unit on a Sunday when they are closed and be able to go to an unstaffed facility and gain all access and locks and everything completely automated is AMAZING! Why isn’t everything in the world this simple. Also, the facility is spotless and has carts to help you and large bay doors that open with the press of a button. Staff called the next day with questions and were great. Wish I could leave a sixth star! ⭐️

Just signed up and so far the experience has exceeded my expectations. The manager, Zach T., has been great to work with the facility is large, well-lit, easily accessible and in excellent condition. Pricing was hard to beat.

I used this place because it was close to apartment I was moving out of but I'm glad I chose this extra space. The location is clean and neat. The staff of extremely accommodating and professional. Special thanks to Zach and Tony for being so kind and understanding with my situation. I highly recommend this location and company.

Frankly, my experience with this particular location (Old Fern Hill Rd. in West Chester) was atrocious.I was already a customer when this storage facility was bought out by Extra Space in 2020 or 2021 - exactly when I can't remember. The facility was almost brand new at the time. The first change Extra Space made was to immediately increase the rent of my uncovered, outdoor parking space by more than 50%, jacking the price up from about $120 a month to $193 per month. This is an absolutely egregious amount of money to charge for the smallest outdoor parking spot that they offer, which was about 10' long. This is 50-60% more than they charge for a small, climate-controlled indoor unit, and more than most other local facilities charge for outdoor parking spots.I was at the mercy of the storage facility in this situation as I was moving between housing situations and the car being stored was out of inspection. The whole reason I selected this facility initially was to find a *relatively* inexpensive solution to this issue until I could repair and move the car again, which was always the end plan. This price increase made it borderline unaffordable for me to keep my car in this location, yet I could not move it elsewhere as most complexes will tow cars that are out of inspection.Over the next several months, during some periods where I encountered financial barriers and was sometimes late to pay my monthly fee, I was harassed by the office staff via text, phone, and email. The company would tack on a late fee of $40, driving my rent (again, for a small, outdoor parking space) up over $200. Most recently, when I was finally in a position to move my car, I was forced to pay nearly $600 for rent, late fees, and something referred to as a "pre-foreclosure" fee, which sounds more like something a bank would apply to a person late on their mortgage than something a storage facility should be charging for late payment on a parking spot.I recognize that this is most likely an issue at the ES corporate level rather than the local office level, or at least I hope it is. This company overcharges for most units in most of their facilities and is inflexible when it comes to accommodating customers.I will never patronize Extra Space Storage again as long as I can help it and as long as they don't buy out every storage facility in town. I would strongly advise against utilizing them for any of your storage needs. You could try and justify these practices by saying that West Chester is a high-cost area to store things, but at least four other facilities in the same vicinity have lower prices.

I was very impressed with Extra Storage Space. The staff was very friendly, . Went on tour and was very clean and well lit. The unit was easy access for me. I would recommend to anyone searching for a storage unit.

ExtraSpace Storage on Fern Hill Rd made the process of moving my belongings into climate controlled storage so easy. They communicated effectively, pricing is great, and on move in day, Tony went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule! I am so thankful my movers recommended them!

We had a very disappointing experience here as our unit was broken into and the staff never contacted us about it. Months later, we are still working with the police to retrieve some of our belongings. The contract is clear that Extra Space Storage is not responsible, but notifying us immediately would have helped significantly.
