David created two wonderful paintings for me as a gift for my now fiance. She had lived in an apartment in town for about 8 years and when she moved in with me, it was tough for her to let go of that apt.
David painted two photos she had. One of the exterior of her apartment and one of the view from her rooftop.
David also referred me to someone for the most perfect frame and he helped me with the surprise unveiling in his gallery. She cried upon receipt and the paintings now hang in our living room.
Aside from his beautiful artwork, his personality is genuine and kind. We loosely stay in touch to this day.
Would highly recommend you check out his gallery. He has some REALLY stunning pieces.

Happened to walk by the gallery and felt compelled to go in and check it out - so glad I did. David’s work is striking and I love that he paints local scenes of West Chester and the surrounding area. And, what a kind character David is. West Chester is lucky to have David and his gallery. I’m buying a new house and I can’t wait to have one of his paintings for my own.

I was raised by two artists and through my youth dragged to NYC’s art museums so often I needed therapy. So I’m not just making a random compliment when I say these are among the best modern American paintings I have ever seen. Spectacular work!

The first second my eyes laid upon a David Katz painting I was instantly sold. His professionalism expressed through keen details in both the background and the foreground no one can replicate. The texture and depth he builds is more than a talent, it is a gift. For a person who is looking for a home or business center piece, David Katz is the guy to go to. No one can do what he does. David Katz is a 1 of 1 artist.

The Chester County Bar Association Commissioned David to paint the Chester County Historic Courthouse. This beautiful building that has been in town for over 175 years, has been the subject of many paintings. However, David managed to capture it in a completely new way, and in my opinion it is the most stunning painting ever done of this iconic building. If you are considering commissioning a new painting you will be incredibly pleased with David's work. If you are just in the market for prints of some of his phenomenal paintings that he has already done, you can't go wrong.

My brother and I walked into Mr. David Katz Gallery, as soon as we walked in David was attentive and electric. His perspective on art and the world is unique to his eyes. David has a beautiful heart and spreads light where he goes, including with his art work.I'd highly recommend visiting his gallery. If you're ever visiting good ole West Chester then stop by to see Mr. David Katz's perspective of Chester county. And you might possibly leave with a unique painting from a humble perspective.

As a former gallerist, I'm always looking for those galleries that are inviting, and offer great art and support for their artists, as well as educating the public on the art they have available. Both David, and his gallery manager, are quite genuine and welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable, making any visitor feel welcome and accepted, no matter their art acumen. The art world can feel very intimidating and overwhelming to someone unfamiliar, oftentimes keeping the public from experiencing the wonderful talent that is out there. They happily greet you, making you at once feel welcome and accepted, and offer a wide array of information on art and the downtown. You'll find work not only of David Katz, "The Chester County Sky Painter", but also of other local artists. The wonderful gallery space is also available as a venue for small events and gatherings, with the fabulous Chester County art hanging as a backdrop. Be sure to put this gallery on your short list! It's a must see and experience!

David's artwork is amazing! We are just around the corner from him and we are so happy to have him as our neighbor. Our shelter holds several fundraiser auctions each year and David's donated art always gets top dollar bids! In fact, we get people asking us ahead of fundraisers, "if we are going to have some of the "Sky Painter's" art in the auction?" Not only is David an incredible artist his philanthropy is noted by many non-profits in the area. Please support him!

Capturing the genius loci of Chester County is a feat aspired to by many, and yet accomplished by so few. David Katz is able to flaunt his mastery of such at his new gallery nestled right in the brick and mortar of West Chester's main thoroughfare. Here, he puts on display works that evoke sense of place that competes readily with the Wyeth dynasty, albeit from a vastly different style. What's more in regard to style, aside from not being pigeonholed into the "Brandywine Tradition," David shows astonishing versatility and variation in his own personal style— with each piece remaining as visually striking as the last, and never once sacrificing that manifestation of rural Pennsylvania rife in his landscapes. He's a master at playing with your heart with playful additions of color, evoking precisely the emotions he seems to hone in on at the instance in which his painting began.
