240 tee time on a Sunday, show up and told carts have to be in by 5. No notification online, only when you come to play. Still full price with no refund. Played 11 holes with a cart, returned it at 5 then jogged a half mile back to finish in the dark at 630. Will not be playing here anymore.

Disappointed to say coming back for a second year was much less enjoyable. We enjoyed the course conditions overall but customer experience was severely lacking. There was no notice that the beverage shack on number 10 was closed (and you never pass near the clubhouse the entire round) despite an almost 90 degree day. Upon completing the round (at 3pm on a Sunday) there was no food - not even a hot dog on the roller. When I asked the gentleman why there was no food, or someone with a beverage cart considering the shack was closed, he said “maybe you should apply for a job here, nobody wants to work” … I said “that’s disappointing that nobody told us that when teeing off” … he very glibly said “yeah, we’ll take it up with the management”. So I’m sharing my experience to let people know what to expect when coming to this course. Had hoped to continue making it an annual, or more, trip.9-4-23 Addendum:Lori and Rob followed up with me by email and a phone call to discuss the issues we experienced - I hope that boards well for the future direction because it really is a very enjoyable, and challenging, golf experience. Due to the follow up I revised my review to 3/5. Compared to last year, they paved the parking lot and some paths on course - the greens are small but roll true and present a good test for someone looking to be challenged. You can try to fly the approaches to the hole or the fairways are so well manicured that you can play almost a links style bump and run if you prefer to take advantage of the course’s natural contours.

When the names Tillinghast and Findlay are attached to it, it’s no surprise that Galen Hall is a pilgrimage for golf course architecture fiends like me. It’s absolutely worth the trip and then some. It’s a one-of-a-kind course that calls for every kind of shot you’ve got in the bag. Every hole is something new. It feels like a rare time capsule of old-school golf that remains fresh and, above all, fun. The down-to-earth atmosphere and quaint countryside scenery can’t be beat.

Course is I'm great condition. Just played here for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it! Don't be deceived on how short it is because it is definitely challenging. Only thing I didn't care for is on hole #10 the old guy mowing the greens literally pulled off the green just long enough for us to hit on and then proceeded to pull back on and try to finish mowing as we were trying to finish putting... He actually made us wait on him to finish so that we could finish putting... I thought it was very poor and don't think most people would put up with that..

Worth the 45 minute drive. Great price. Each hole had character with small fast greens. #2 is crazy cool. I will put GH in my yearly rotation.

Worst experience ever. From lugging your clubs across a 2 lane road, going down steep stairs and lugging them back to your car to a course in dire need of repair. The cartpaths that exist are torn up and full of pot holes. Driving around is horrible. Fairways cross 2 different 2 lane roads. Fairways are 2 out of 4 stars...greens ok, bunkers good but not a lot of sand,, starter was very accommodating . Snack bar not open at 1.30 PM. Beer and hot dog only.

Worst golf courses ever. From dragging your bags across a road, down a dozen steep steps and even harder getting back to your car. What cart paths that do exist are full of pot holes, horrible trying to drive around the course, 2nd hole road is down had to drive around the development twice. Course itself in mediocre condition. Restaurant in bad shape too. Only beer and hot dog available at 1 pm. .

Galen Hall golf course was in excellent shape when we played. The fairways were beautiful. Like hitting off a carpet. That is if you hit the fairway off your drive, lol. And as usual the greens were fast and challenging. We really enjoyed our round at Galen Hall.
