Tom Sadleir is an honest proprietor. Sadleir's Automotive is a small shop that does good work at a fair price.

Tom has always treated us in a fair, professional manner. I trust his advice with all our vehicles, in addition both his and his fathers decades of community service is commendable. I have been going there for more than a decade with no complaints and will continue to do so.

I have known Tom for almost 10 years. He has been servicing my car, and several of my clients vehicles on my recommendation, and they see for themselves how hard he works. He has always been honest, professional and kind. I highly recommend him for any car repair, or maintenance. A+

My car broke down on the Lancaster Avenue and Radnor Police Department called this company for a tow. They did arrive promptly, that's the one positive thing I will say. It was Friday early afternoon. You need to get a release slip from the police department in order to get my car released by Sadleirs, but I couldn't get my vehicle released because the officer hadn't filed the report yet. I did speak with Tom, the shop owner, late Friday afternoon. Since the shop doesn't have weekend hours, so my car was essentially held hostage all weekend. He said he wouldn't be able to look at the car until Monday morning; he didn't say anything about towing or other fees to keep the car there until Monday, nor that there might be a fee for him just to look at the vehicle. I got a call fairly early Monday morning from Tom saying my car needs an alternator. For the tow, diagnostics, labor, and part he quoted $773 for a 2007 Acura TL. The tow was $150, labor $190, the alternator $329, and diagnostics $54. My usual mechanic quoted $300 for both parts and labor. When I asked about using a lower cost part, he refused and said he wouldn't do it, even if I purchased one and brought it to him. When I said the quote was very high and told him that my usual mechanic and another shop quoted $300 altogether, he told me I was welcome to take it elsewhere but that he would also charge me $45/day storage (for my car that was held hostage over the weekend because of his business hours). I told him I would like to take the car elsewhere, and he said it would cost $298 to pick up my car ($150 tow plus $45/day storage plus $54 diagnostic plus tax). When I arrived a few minutes later to pay, he refused to take anything other than cash, but of course he hadn't told me that until I arrived. He was clearly upset that he wasn’t getting my business and was charging me as much as he could.
It also reflects poorly on the Township of Radnor that this is who they choose to do business with. Don't make the same mistake.

I thought everything was okay when I picked up my vehicle, I ignored the cheap shot and smiled. Yet 45 mins laters I'm getting a call about taking a key to another vehicle. I'm explaining that I only have my key to my car, because of course I watched you walk to the corner of the desk with the number my key is located under and turn back around as the gentleman sitting at the desk where you are is looking in the front where I am .......And during that time I'm snatching keys!!! Anyways just to be accused and tell me “ no it's on your person†wrong way to treat people. I'll be waiting on an apology I'm sure it will never happen. So for me a one star is still to generous. And if this is a constant I think there should be another tow company in that area atleast one with manors.
