This store has disappointed us over and over and over again. We shop here out of convenience because it's so close to our house. But this last experience is the last straw. Now, the pharmacy can't even follow PA law. We're done. My husband has a prescription for an injectable drug, which means he cannot take it if he doesn't have syringes. It's frustrating enough that he has to buy the syringes, and they don't come with the medication as its only possible delivery method. But this last time he refilled his prescription, he was informed they could not sell him syringes without a prescription. So he could buy the drug; he just couldn't use it. This precedent does not follow Pennsylvania law. Board Regulation Section 27.18(s) states: "Sales of hypodermic needles and syringes shall be made by a pharmacist or under the direct, immediate and personal supervision of a pharmacist in accordance with the following: (1) Hypodermic needles and syringes may be sold without a prescription. (2) Hypodermic needles and syringes shall be kept in the prescription area of the pharmacy, as defined in § 27.1 (relating to definitions), and be accessible only by pharmacists and pharmacy personnel authorized to be in the prescription area of the pharmacy while the pharmacy is open."

We do a lot of curbside pickup and delivery for our groceries, but there are a few things we prefer to pick out ourselves. The feature of Giant Eagle that I like the most is their Scan Pay Go self scan and checkout system. It is so easy. You scan your card to get a scanner, you scan your items as you shop, put them into your bag, and at the end you go to the dedicated checkout kiosk and scan the barcode. You then pay for your groceries, get your receipt, and walk out to your car. I'm surprised so many people prefer to stand in line at the traditional cashier lines. It saves so much time! Having a dedicated scanner instead of using an app on your phone is easier to handle and you don't need to worry about dropping it. I'm definitely a fan.

Today my husband went to get doughnuts and bagels at 7am. He was told they don’t bake those on week days. They didn’t have one bagel and the doughnuts were slim. Though he asked if there were more since he could see racks of them in the back and he was told no. So I guess if you need baked goods you must go on a weekend

I had a curbside pickup order and the woman was so rude. I pulled into the space where the sign says “please stay in your car, we’ll load your order shortly” I stayed in my car and told the woman to put the order in the backseat. Another employee was walking through the parking lot into the store and the curbside woman started talking to her. The second employee said “I have to go punch in and you’re busy loading this order” the woman loading my car then loudly said “if she was in such a hurry she would’ve helped me”

I shopped at the Washington Giant Eagle for the last time tonight, their latest great idea is to close the self checkouts at 8pm

I got home from picking up my fried chicken. I ordered for a dinner party, and they sold me greasy burnt chicken..... just awful... had to go all the way back and get my money back because they said they drained the grease to the fryer and could not remake my chicken.... I see why they drained the grease just awful

In-store salesmen make me question my resolve to go. But scan and go is a delightful feature on the app, and the gas is a good deal.

This G.E. Pharmacy is the only one out of 9 Pharmacys in Washington that I either called or drove to that had my dogs pain meds. Must understand that most all Pharmacy's over the phone will NOT confirm to you that they currently have a controlled substance, a Narcotic in stock. And they are not allowed to tell you that they are forbidden from doing so. Unless you are standing infront of them.It makes it extremely hard to locate a uncommonly scripted medication for a pet. Only because of fear of addicts robbing the Rx , this is the world we live in. And it doesn't seem that it might be getting any better. The opposite in fact.

Well maintained store and friendly staff. Prices could be a bit more reasonable on some items, but GE always has a better selection of quality products than just about every other store.
