I have used many Kwik Fill stations. I prefer to use the stations with attendants in order to give people a job. I believe in supporting the businesses where I live and work. In doing so, I have used Philipsburg, Kylertown and Clearfield stations/stores and all have always provided excellent service. I now live and work in Tyrone. Tyrone's Kwik Fill has occasionally had a worker who provided good customer service, but for the most part, their customer service is anything but customer service. Today, April 3rd is a Saturday and the hours are to begin at 7 AM. It is 7:50 AM and the station is not yet open. There are other options, in fact cheaper options, but once again, have always wanted to help support a worker. I hope United Refining is able to address this issue with this station/store. Thank you for the opportunity to share.

United Refining has a motto of 'Driving America'. They don't tell you that they stop short, It should be 'Driving America Broke, for Profit!'. You see, United distributes petroleum products throughout Northwest PA, charging a premium for regular gas. PA has a wallet-gouging gas tax, but United takes gouging to a new level. In Ohio, while the price is $2.00/gal, United is still demanding $2.69... while the tax difference between the states is only $0.22... Who, then, is pocketing the other 47 cents? They hide their theft by owning Country Fair and Kwik-stop convenience stores, which probably sells over 75% of the gas in this area. That gives them control of the gas prices in the area. That must make them proud to be one of the greatest drags on the local economy. How? Think about it. While they are profiting on the backs of every local citizen, they are also driving every price of every product being sold and produced. Petroleum affects all delivery costs. It affects production and manufacturing. It affects everything that we purchase. They are quietly reaching into your wallet and taking more than their fair share, multiple times! They may be a 'good employer', but I don't see how their greed makes them a positive contributor to the area.

why has the price of your gas gone up, when you say it is from Pa? That has nothing to do with what is going on in Texas.

So you may ask exactly what is a Yelper doing reviewing and rating a petroleum refinery? Well, more than being a bunch of foodies, we're bunch of cyber friends enjoying shared comments, opinions and experiences, so why not? Rating a refinery can be tricky since it wouldn't be fair to rate the big verticals (the wellhead to gasoline pump types) such as an Exxon or BP against a small regional only doing around 60 thousand barrels a day. Then, though some may disagree with me, automotive gasoline is simply automotive gasoline with the slight differences between them being mostly meaningless. So as far as a small area regional, I find United to be one of the best but better than just being a refinery they've managed to integrate themselves with various convenience outlets such as Red Apple, Kwik Fill and Country Fair. Hence it is the integrated combination of their petroleum products together with customer convenience that gives me cause to rate United as superior to other regionals such as American which is located in nearby Bradford, Pennsylvania.
