I moved an hour and a half away, and I will never change my vet
Did the veterinarians here? The staff are honestly not only are they lifesavers. the staff is comprised of stand-up individuals who do such a great job and care so deeply about animals. I appreciate that, and I trust them tremendously.

We are newer clients at York Road Veterinary Hospital and my elderly cat has only been seen there a few times but when it came time for her end-of-life visit, the doctor and staff at the hospital treated us like family. The receptionists, technicians and doctor were all amazing. Their kindness and compassion helped me get through such a difficult decision. The doctor sat with me for as long as I needed to explain my cat's behavior and what my options were. I felt like she truly listened to me and understood my concerns. It was heartbreaking to let my dear cat go but my experience with everyone at the hospital made it as peaceful as possible.

I have not had an issue with the vets or personnel there. However, if you need medical documentation about your pet's visit for any reason (whether it's for a pet insurance claim, for your own records or to go to another vet), York Road Vet will not send those documents to you. You'd have to provide them with an email address to send your pet's medical documentation directly to the pet insurance company or vet. At no point are pet owners allowed to have medical documentation regarding their furry one(s) from York Road Vet. Apparently it is their policy not to share this information and I wish I would have known this sooner. Not posting this to bash them, but to educate those considering going to this location.

Went here for years under Dr Thomas. Didn't have many good experiences since he left, and had a horrible experience when I had to put my dog down.

I'm completely shocked at how unprofessional and immature a supervisor can be. I called because I wanted to bring in my kitten to get two updated vaccinations. I had come to this office once before because I wanted to get my foster kitten seen to see if what the shelters vet was saying about his eye was the same as what this office had to say. I just wanted a standard check-up for a second opinion. He was not sick. When I called this time they said they needed him to be seen for a wellness appointment again since the first appointment was an urgent appointment or so the first person I talked to, Justin, said. I informed it that it wasn't an emergency appointment, as nothing was urgent. He was confused when I asked him "Wouldn't it also have been a standard routine check as well since it was his first time there and most places have that policy?" He said he was confused so handed me off to a supervisor who clearly must have been having a bad day to begin with. Her explanation which wasn't answering my question which is why I kept asking the same thing over and over again. She said he would have to come in for a wellness check because the last appointment he was sick. I asked how was he sick, she said "because he wasn't given any vaccines." I was the one who turned down the vaccinations because he was still a foster cat who was getting free vaccinations from the shelter, but he was in perfect health to get one. Their "medical policy" is that a cat has to be deemed healthy before they can get a vaccine. So I then asked if I had brought him in before for a wellness check would he be able to get vaccines without a wellness check this time. She said yes which makes no sense because how would you know if he was sick or well without a wellness check. So from my end it seems as they are just trying to get more money out of me since they don't even comply with their own policy based off what she said. However, all I wanted to know was why was he considered sick because he didn't recieve any treatment and I paid for both a wellness check and for additional tests for his eyes. Once I think she realized that she didn't know how to answer my question she just stopped answering pretending like no one was there. Came back and was like oh she hung up of course she did, which was also unprofessional as I had to inform her I was still there. She lied and said they were closing when it was still ten minutes before closing and I could hear conversation and phone ringing in the background. She said she didn't want to keep going in circles and hung up on me. I don't know if she was the owner or just a supervisor if this is their medical policy that she can't even explain properly. Take others peoples word for this place just isn't it. The first time I went the vet was very nice, but their policies and receptionists/nurses/techs are unprofessional and need better training or at least better attitudes when dealing with customers.

this vet is about 45 minutes from me but in the 4 years i’ve been coming i’ve never been disappointed. i can’t imagine going anywhere else. since my first appointment they’ve been very accommodating and helpful. now that my dog is getting older she’s going through new things i’m not used to. this transition has been great with these doctors!! even me being so nervous with surgery everything is so pleasant. they’re Reassure me even when i’m acting crazy ?. the pricing is also soo reasonable . i love this vet and recommend it to everyone!! even after some time the nurses still remember us and make great comments about isla !!

My labrador puppy stopped eating and drinking one morning. I took her to see Dr. Durfee. He said Shelly she no problem there’s nothing wrong.
Day two I brought her in still no eating no drinking. I wanted test done. He said no she’ll be fine.
Third day took her to the emergency hospital, they said she was extremely dehydrated and at that point her kidneys were failing, and her liver was on its way out as well. Asked why I didn’t have a read of that earlier. I told her I did. She died that day
Dr. Durfee killed my labrador retriever puppy, Daisy.

Monday 2/12/24, i had to put my cat to sleep after 18-19 years. This was and forever will be the HARDEST thing I ever had to do. I was A MESS on Monday. This Animal Hospital was recommended to me by my in-Laws as they take their pets here too. I had a great experience with the care I received, all the staff and especially the doctor were welcoming and comforting. I will be bringing my pets here in the future for care. Thank you so much for making this process comforting for my family and I.
