Be careful with this company. The accountant, when I met and spoke with him, seemed nice and to know his stuff, but his secretary has a real attitude problem, and you have to go through her to have a chance to talk to him. After speaking with the accountant, he told me to just e-mail him my documents; the excel spreadsheet where I kept the books, along with any receipts. He would do the bookkeeping, for I thought, a very reasonable fee, and then would do the actual accounting and tax filing, for another, very reasonable fee. So I spent 2 weeks getting everything together, and I e-mailed it to him. I call 2 days later to make sure they got it. The secretary explains they did, but she didn't do anything with it, because it was a lot of pages to print out. She didn't even speak to him about it! She told me again that she would speak to him, find out what to do, and call me back. 4 days later I called back, and she again said she didn't do anything with it because it is too many pages! When I wanted to speak to the actual accountant, or know when I would be able to speak to him, she got upset, claiming to have no idea when that could happen, and asking me how could she possibly know? Exactly. How could a secretary have any idea when the accountant might be in the office and able to return the call. She even hung up on me. (This afternoon, or sorry he isn't in today, but he'll be in tomorrow and I'll make sure he calls tomorrow, or similar, would all have been acceptable responses) The other accountants I have worked with ALWAYS wanted excel, or digital copies. I've never heard of an accountant in 2020 that wants everything printed out on paper! Or I guess, one who is charging over $1000 for services, who refuses to spend the $2 or whatever to print out what they want physical copies of, and instead demand their potentially busy clients, print it out themselves, and drop it off, in person, during business hours. So I lost 2 weeks of time that should have been spent preparing my business taxes, and I needed to go find another accountant. I did, and she worked WONDERFULLY. I don't know about taxes, and explained in our first meeting that I need someone to help me get my business taxes and systems in place to avoid problems. He told me he'd be able to help, but apparently, the office staff isn't on the same page. As I said, be careful with these people. If you have anything even close to complicated, or if you are less the knowledgeable about taxes, this is not be the place you want to go. There likely are people who deserve your business more than these people do. These people seem more like "eh, if you want to pay us you can, we don't really care". I don't know about anyone else, but I know I want an accountant, and a firm, that at least can pretend to care about my needs and my business.
