First took our 6 year old cat here a few months ago for an illness visit after deciding to switch vets from a vet we were previously seeing in New Jersey. From the moment we walked in we knew immediately he was in good hands and have then decided to take the rest of our cats here as well.
The staff here are friendly, patient with both humans and animals & very knowledgeable. In both times we have been to the Fishtown office; I have had no doubt about the care our cats have received, have left the office feeling like any concerns or questions I have had were heard and answered and that our cats were well taken care of.
I highly recommend!

The Pet Mechanic is the best vet I have ever been to. Everyone is so wonderful from the receptionists to the techs and the doctors. They go above and beyond to take care of our dog and cats and make them feel safe and comfortable. They make sure to find an affordable option while still provided the highest quality care. We will never take our animals anywhere else and give the highest recommendation possible for this amazing veterinary practice.

I moved to Philly in late June. One of my older cats (both 14) had a very bad UTI - they were INCREDIBLE with her. Finding a vet in a rush and stressed is already nerve wracking, but finding one as wonderful as The Pet Mechanic made all the difference.
Last week my cat ended up in the ER at midnight and almost didn’t make it. She became stable and was able to come home. The next morning I immediately called The Pet Mechanic and let them know what was going on. They were able to get all her records from the vet ER and called me back for a follow up appointment. We could tell my fluff ball wasn’t doing well and knew it was pretty grave. When we arrived for our appointment we were treated with such compassion and kindness… it’s hard to even put into words. We had to say goodbye to my sweet girl, but it was in the best place and environment I could imagine. They had a super cozy room all set up that made it feel a little like home, and everyone there was so wonderful given the heartbreak and sadness myself and my partner felt.
I can’t thank The Pet Mechanic in Fishtown enough. They were so wonderful to my sweet girl, Merlotte, and compassionate to our pain when we had to say goodbye. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars.

I entrusted The Pet Mechanic in Fishtown with treating my kitten’s ear infections starting in May 2024, and after several months of frustration and over $500 spent, I am beyond disappointed. Despite trying three different medications, we were finally told my kitten was infection-free in late August, early September. However, just two weeks later, the signs of infection/yeast resurfaced.
I expected professional care, but this experience has felt like a series of false diagnoses and ineffective treatments. Not to mention nearly every time we were seen by a different doctor, which made things confusing. It’s frustrating to pay so much only to feel like the problem was never truly resolved. I can’t help but feel misled and would not recommend them to other pet owners.

They got my pup immediately in after a pretty traumatic ER vet visit earlier in the week. They did a full work up on my dog, Bella, and we talked through a treatment plan moving forward. The front desk staff was very warm and welcoming as well as the techs and vet!

An absolutely wonderful vet. I've been to sooo many vet's in my life due to my work in animal rescue and I can confidently say this one is excellent. All of the staff from the front desk to the vet techs to the vets are so nice and friendly. The vets genuinely care about your animal and want to make sure they find a solution to whatever problem you have. I have a very anxious cat and they were so sweet and gentle with her. I would definitely recommend them to any pet owner!

This vet always takes great care of my two cats. I've been coming to this vet for at least 6 years and the staff and doctors are always very kind and compassionate with the animals in addition to providing good vet services at fair prices.
