I absolutely love my Steller Flooring. We opted for the NewCastle Oak 5/8". If you have a level surface, installation is simple and fast. We did not have anyplace to store enough flooring to complete our entire upstairs at once (we are doing our own reno work) and Kevin was happy to work with us on when to order for the next round and gave us an additional discount for being repeat customers. They are very responsive to questions and I have enjoyed working with them on my project. I especially love that all of the wood is from the Appalachian region and locally milled. I highly recommend the product and the company. The photos are of our bathroom reno. More to follow as we get the next load of wood to install in the Master bedroom.

I am a professional contractor in business for 30 years, about 2 years ago we purchased flooring for a remodeling job. The quality of the flooring was ok but the finish did not seem very good compared to other flooring I had used over the years, I mentioned it to Steller owners when we got it and they said they have been working to improve the finishing process so the finish quality may be better now. This particular job had a step down from the new wood to a tiled area, I requested a wood nosing to match the flooring when ordering and was told they don’t do nosings. I asked how I should transition from the floor to another level since the floor is floating and the nosing should move with it. They said it was my problem to figure out. I had a custom nosing made and had to take it to them to have finished so it would match but they did not have capability to mill a groove into it so it would lock with flooring so the nosing had to be attached to subfloor. I expressed concern that if they had an engineered product they should provide accessories to work with their product for warranty purposes, again I was told it was up to me to figure out. We followed all installation instructions provided by Steller but a year after completion there were issues with the floor separating at the nosing and end joints. I made multiple phone calls to Steller and left messages with no response, I also sent a message through their website with my concerns about the flooring and wanted to discuss solutions, again I got no response. After reading reviews I see that they tend to respond to them so am trying this way to get a response. Considering that this flooring cost nearly double any other custom hardwood floor I have purchased I was disappointed with the quality and the lack of customer service after the sale. I should note that this flooring is not end grooved (I believe newer versions are to prevent the separation at end joints). I assume they may have made improvements to their system to make it better but I still feel they should stand behind a deficient product that they knew had design issues.

Process was very personalized. Was a bit confused why the prices weren't on the site but after a few phone calls and texts, it made sense. This isn't just a regular hardwood floor. It's an investment. So I spent more than I expected but after all said and done the overall cost was less than having cheap, China made flooring installed by a contractor. I went with a nice maple for my office and den, and i installed it myself. Actually they call it assembly. I may be more well versed in woodworking but overall I've never done flooring and after a zoom call (didn't understand the connection method) I was off to the races. Got it done by myself in about half a day with many breaks for other things I had going on. The question is would I buy this again....yes, and I would recommend to anyone looking for a complete system that shows up and comes with everything you need to have it finished quickly. Pro tip: have a mitre saw and jigsaw handy for some cuts at the end. Thanks Steller and team!

Purchased their gray maple floor boards. Open communication throughout the process. Received all the materials, as well as hardware, such as suction cup and plastic cutters that the floor boards clips into. Struggled at first to get the floor boards into the clips at first. But then after finally watching the video installation tutorial, took 3.5 hours to complete a 15' x 18' bedroom, including cutting the offcut pieces to fill the ends, as well as sealing the cut ends. This was done with two people. Really great product, and the finished product looks amazing. Had some doubts whether or not the flooring would flex or feel "bouncy" with the clip system, but the floor literally feels like it's glued/nailed to the flooring. Also used QuietWalk Plus to improve the STC/IIC rating. It is a slightly pricier option, but the product comes finished and sealed. Time is money. Didn't have to purchase a hardwood floor nailer and the consumable nails. Didn't have to purchase any glue and trowel. Didn't have to spend time sanding, filling in nail holes, sanding and sealing the flooring. Oh, the product comes sealed on all 6 sides of the flooring, unlike conventional hardwood flooring that would be sealed on the topside only. If I don't like a blemish on the wood itself, or if the stain color may be a little darker than its surrounding areas, I can easily pop out the floor board with the provided suction cup, and relocate the piece to an area that would be covered up by the bed/rug or closet system. Can't do that with pre-finished hardwood flooring that gets nailed/glued down. Later down the line, if I wanted to refinish a couple of the pieces, I could potentially pull them out with the provided suction cup tool, sand the piece, re-stain, and seal it.

I called to order flooring. I had a few questions and the woman who answered the phone told me that the answer to my question could be found in the website.. lol..let's just say what she said is true (and it wasn't for my particular question) what kind of customers service is that? I'm glad I didn't buy this product for my house if u search their products you will find a lot of unhappy customers....

I purchased the Napa maple for my main kitchen, laundry room, and prep area. It is absolutely beautiful material. I couldn't be happier with the quality of it. Even though I've never laid a wood floor before, getting rid of the old linoleum was way more work than putting down the Steller floor. And the fact that I was able to lay it myself helped me afford such beautiful hardwood. Online payment was simple and the shipper delivered the pallet exactly where I wanted it. The whole project went very smoothly.

The quality of the wood is great and I love that its all produced in the USA. I had a few pieces with imperfections that could not fit so I ended up using those as sacrificial pieces. I really like the concept and the ease of installation but there a few things that I believe could be improved. One, the manuals online weren't clear enough about the installation procedure. It took a phone call to really understand how to get the planks to click into place properly. You really don't need the mallet to tap pieces into place, "pressing them down with your feet" is a lot more effective and less strenuous on your ears and body but the manuals don't do a good job showing how to do that properly. Two, the plastic rails are too flimsy. After installing the flooring maintaining a flat floor (less than 1/8" difference over 5 feet), the tracks still bend at the joints causing my floor to squeak and crackle and move up and down at the ends ever so slightly. I would hope that they come up with stiffer tracks, maybe made out of a hard plastic or metal like aluminum to prevent some of the issues I've had. They told me that they came up with end connecting pieces (which would help probably) but that was after my version was shipped despite it being shown on the website as so at the time... I should have brought that up earlier to them because the product I received wasn't exactly the one advertised... I also wish there was a bamboo option...I updated my review to 1 start bcuz after some thought I realized it wasn't fair to me for them to send me an older model (without a steep discount) while they were advertising a new model... I should have disputed this at the time once I realized.

We are devastated with this purchase. The floors do not function as advertised and we continue to have issues well beyond what should be expected. Despite providing proof of the RH readings in our home, the company continues to blame our homes humidity for product failure. We wanted this to work so badly, but the product does not function.

What product you have makes no difference if you don't answer the phone or call back. Tried and tried and now I give up.

Their website is useless to the consumer. It's designed as a data mining tool. There is almost no information at the website, just enough to get you interested enough to relinquish your information to them so they can spam your inbox and phone. Why can't I just buy directly from the website? Useless.Their prices start at $14 per SQ ft, maybe more, but who knows what the pricing structure is?

High quality product and easy to install! I was able to install over my concrete floors! And made in the USA, you can't beat that!

Poor product! Been laying floor for many years. The finish is terrible as well as the sizing. Extremely difficult to install!
