I visited Perk Valley Pet Eatery for the first time today. This pet store is a hidden gem! They offer a wide variety of toys, treats, food, and more for your pet. All of the brands are extremely healthy and top notch for your pet, honestly I wish more pet stores offered this. The staff that I spoke to was very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly, highly recommend!

Years ago this store was up the street from their current location, across from the DQ. I went in one day with a coupon and the owner pointed out that I was using it on the wrong day of the week. It was in quite small print but fair enough, though. He seemed annoyed, which was what offended me. I did not go back in that store or later to their new location in Trappe Shopping Center for years. I do care about where I shop and I do support local businesses. My spend on non-vet related dog supplies is about $1-2,000/year, varies on how many dogs I have. I have a dog who has allergy issues. Against my better judgment, I stopped in the new location to see if they might have a treat that was hypoallergenic in one way or another. I looked for a while and found nothing. I asked a helpful clerk who said no they did not. We discussed their dried sweet potato treats. I bought them thinking it would be worth a try. They were $18.99 for a bag of 8 oz. $38 a pound seemed quite high but I thought I'd try it, my dogs are important to my family. He liked them so I shopped on line and the manufacturer and Chewy sell the identical product and size for $6.99. I have owned businesses. I understand the overhead a storefront and staff entails. I also understand a reasonable market price with all sorts of different variables impacting retail pricing. Wholesome Pride Sweet Potato Bites Dog Treats 8oz

I’ve had two very rude experiences here with Valerie. I see other reviews saying the same thing. On their big store anniversary sale she was incredibly hostile but I chalked it up to them being stressed out with the crowd. Today I brought in a return with my receipt, before I even get a word in she snaps “well you need the credit card”… well obviously, all returns work that way. I give her the card and say I didn’t like the product, tried it and repacked it in pristine condition so they could resell it. She insists that I’m just using it wrong and that I must’ve had the wrong size. I said nope I did it correctly I’m just not going to use it and the girl that checked me out when I bought it even said that a lot of people return it. She was visibly pissed off that I was returning something that was a whopping $22. It was so hostile for what should’ve been a very easy return for them. It was as if she took it personally that I didn’t like the product. We live next to a Petsmart but drive 15 mins to go here because it’s a small business but her attitude makes me not want to make the effort to come back.The pros:•Generally competitive prices; most things are a few dollars off from Amazon/Chewy but other toys are sometimes literally double the price to the point where you wonder if they marked it wrong.• every other worker particularly the male employees are incredibly friendly and are genuinely excited to help you and your pet. Tons of selection for a small business.

Love this place! I was looking for a place like I used to go to in Baltimore. I posted on Next Door and several agreed. Timing and closeness drew me there today and I was not disappointed. Family run for 20 years!

Dana an Gordon where both do very helpful in helping me find s special toy for my daughte's poodle...This was my first time in this store the selection they have out does Pet Smart or Pet Co...I will definitely be back..thanx again to Dana an Gordon for their outstanding customer service

Nice store, friendly staff. It is one of our "When we are over that way" places to stop for dog food, toys and even a new bed once. Definitely recommend.

I love the quality of foods, as well as the variety of healthy food and snack options. The workers are always helpful and knowledgeable about the various brands and can give advice about which brands best suit my dogs needs.

Will never shop here again. Made our first trip to this pet shop after bathing our dog at the buisness next door. Manager was very rude to my wife and I. For a mom and pop spot youd think customer service would be important but i guess not.
