Hi,
My vet in Trucksville suggested Memorial Vet Urgent Care in Throop and said to just go when my Vet was in surgery and couldn't take him.
They are normally open later, but we were going in the building to see a sign that today, October 18th, they were closing at 1, just for today. And it was 12:58. ?
Louie, my 14ish year old rescue had trouble getting off the floor last night for dinner. He previously had a slipped disc and I know he has some arthritis. Had pain meds and decided to call in the morning. Early this morning, he was reverse sneezing and shaking and couldn't catch his breath. He settled down, and I gave him a pain pill and called early to leave a message so as to get a call back after 8:30am. They were busy, and I didn't get to talk with anyone til just before noon, so we got ready and jumped in the car.
The staff at Memorial graciously took Louie, and a few stayed back from leaving to take care of him, including Dr. Noto.
Dr. Noto was so awesome, thorough and very sweet with Louie. Louie had been having trouble breathing due to pain, which I thought could happen. He has us fixed up and Louie is on some bedrest for the second time.
I can't thank those enough who stayed to help us.
#Grateful
Laura and Louie (and Rocky too)

Nothing but amazing things to say about this vet, especially the urgent care they give to my girl Ivy over the last couple months. On Wednesday we had a pretty bad scare, and with her emergent situation they were able to get here in within a half hour. I was visibly upset and they were so kind, compassionate, patient and knowledgeable about what to do! Dr. Lewis was great. Our dog hates the vet and is pretty hard to deal with but they were great with her. She’s doing well now and I really think Memorial Vet saved her life! Thanks so much!!!

I’ve always wanted to enjoy this vet because the doctors are so pleasant to speak to and have seems to love my animals; however, as years have went on it is apparent the people there that do care are overworked and it affects their patient care. Unfortunately, on my last visit with my ill pet, we were sent home with very little guidance after only bloodwork being done. When I asked for more tests or answers I was just told they weren’t worth the money and he could live 3-4 years and I shouldn’t be discouraged and if I was concerned could check him into an animal hospital elsewhere since they do not provide that. They did not advise on where to go. After researching and finding the best place to take them we got significantly more tests and answers for our pet. We understand some conditions cannot be treated but when we requests tests to get answers to try that should be done. After getting such great care elsewhere it really opened my eyes to the issue at Memorial Vet. It was also disappointing to hear that hundreds of dollars of unused items could not be returned. Very little compassion from the receptionists when I called to ask to cancel further appointments due to our beloved animals passing and about returning unused items. Receptionists seem to look and act like they hate their jobs and I wish more caring doctors would be added to the team to help the ones already there so they could focus more on patients than jammed schedules having them rush around.

My daughter has been taking her dog there for the past two years cost almost $1000 to have some teeth removed. Plus they remove the small tumor on one of her breast just last week. She was back again with an eye infection they gave her salve for her eyes. Needless to say, they misdiagnosed the dog today we had to take the dog to Plains animal Hospital emergency room, the dog has lymphoma that has spread They misdiagnosed this precious animal. I’m going to seek an attorney for their diagnosis and their malpractice. We had to put this precious dog down told us that she had an eye infection when she had lymphoma ??

We had to let our precious Bishop go! ? From the front desk, to the nurse, to Dr. Wallis…they were so compassionate and made an extremely sad moment bearable! We highly recommend them for any need your pet may have, especially if it’s time to let your loved pet go!

Great experience! The vet and nurse were super kind to me and my dog. Gave me great information about taking care of my dogs ears. The only thing is that it's not that big so if there are other animals in the waiting room it can become crazy.

Our dog of 12 years was experiencing seizures. I took her to urgent care. While waiting to be called into exam room she started having a seizure. Immediately the staff went into action and took her to be examined. We were shortly called in to speak with the vet. She explained what was happening to her and the few options that were available. She took her time and was very clear. Unfortunately it didn't turn out well. She only got worse. I had to wait over an hour for my son to get out of work to say goodbye to his little girl. The staff allowed us to stay in an exam room with her until he arrived. They also came in several times to check on us and if we needed anything. As hard as the decision was they made us as comfortable as possible. I am so grateful that I used this veterinarian. I highly recommend them.
