Please believe the Hype! We just sent our 12 yrs old daughter to ILC for the 1st time. She had an amazing time and can't wait to return next summer. From drop-off day to the performance day, the sentiments of care, excitement, and adventure were felt from every staff member we encountered. It was great to learn that this tone did not change once the parents weren't around. Truly a home away from home! No Camp is perfect but ILC comes pretty darn close! (Lol)

This camp is unique... the facilities are outstanding, they offer activities like trapeeze and circus that makes them stand out from the others. But what really makes this camp special is the owners and their staff. They are warm, professional, they care about every kid in that camp. If your kids like sports, but they are also artistic and they are looking for new challenges and hobbies, this is the place. The flexibility of their schedule makes it ideal for all families. My daughters have been coming to ILC for 3 years and I can tell this is their summer HOME.

Our girls had a great time. We were nervous about a sleep-away camp because we’d never done that before but our kids loved every bit of it.

As a former worker at Independent Lake Camp, I would suggest that any parent who contemplates sending a child to Independent Lake Camp perform due diligence.

Believe the hype! We just finished our second year at ILC and our 13 year old daughter had an amazing session. Our daughter has been going to overnight camps since she was 7, but we felt sort of like Goldilocks because none of them were "just right". We needed a camp that valued diversity, had flexibility in choosing activities and was within driving distance of Southeastern PA. ILC exceeded our expectations in every way. Jeff has put together an amazing team and we can't wait for next year!

My child absolutely loved this camp - and she's not easy to win over. With a vast number of activities, the camp offers plenty to do for all "types." A very friendly, supportive, and accepting place. The camp director, Jeff, is remarkably responsive and lovely. Beautiful spot, cabins and dining area are well maintained. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a safe and fun spot with plenty of activity options.

My experience was amazing here. Foods amazing, activities they have many for you if you go and I went with my school for 3 days and it was amazing. There canteen where you buy snacks and each snack is $1 but I highly recommend bringing $20 just in case. Also you can get 2 slim Jim’s for $1 and you can get 2 gushers for $1. They have Gatorade of all flavors basically everything you can dream of they have mini cookies and Oreos and pringles, Takis and hot Cheetos, Doritos and more. E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G you can name they have and this trip allowed me to have better relationship with my peers in my cabin well the shower is a little tough but it does the job and this is definitely a trip people have to earn because it’s really a big opportunity and brings lots of joy! I will attempt to put into words, the impact that a mere 2 weeks at ILC, has done for my son's personal growth and development. At its core, these changes stem from the time, effort, and love that owners Jeff and Brooke--and countless others they employ--put into making ILC what it is.CONFIDENCESchool--well really the process of education--hasn't been an easy path thus far for my son, so there have been times when he's lacked confidence in the learning process. After camp, my son said, "Camp really helped with my confidence. I was able to try new things and be cheered on even when I made mistakes." I didn't even prompt him! That shows me that he's proved something to himself about what he is capable of doing, regardless of challenges that he has. And personally...I'm now into #LARPlife with him. I didn't know what I was missing! ?RESPONSIBILITYI haven't had to tell my son to make his bed or put his dishes away since he came home from camp. BLESS ILC for daily bunk clean-up!!! I think being in the camp environment, where he was able to be both an older role model for younger boys and then also see older boy role models for himself, has helped his intrinsic sense of responsibility. I really think my kid is asking himself, what kind of person do I want to be when faced with choices and challenges in social settings?FRIENDSHIPSI love so much that my son made friends at ILC; they have been chatting on Messenger Kids already and I know my son wants to come to ILC next summer for longer! He was most nervous about not knowing anyone at camp, but he immediately made so many friends--and that also has to do with the kinds of kids and families accepted into ILC.There's so much intention put into everything and I can't overstate how much of an impact it has had on my son. He's definitely going back next summer!
