The crew we were assigned via Allied from Clemmer Moving and Storage, Alex, Alex Jr., and Gary were efficient and careful and very helpful! We would absolutely recommend them!

The good: The guys doing the moving were nice, courteous, decently professional, and had a good work ethic. The bad: The 'boss', Mr Clemmer, came and gave us an estimate, which was WILDLY off... I mean, he spent 10 mins looking over our house and contents, and deliberately gave us a low estimate -- then sent a truck which was far too small for the job. Instead of a one day move, it was a two day odyssey. And they wound up charging us $4700 instead of the estimated $3700, because of course it took so long. They cheated us, plain and simple, and that's aside from the drywall damage they did in two places in the house we left, and the damage they did to our new home. I cannot recommend this company for any reason. I got a lot of BS from the office people, with NO customer service at all. They act like it's MY fault that they underestimated the job. No, sorry. No dice. Don't be cheated by these people.

From my initial call, through the estimate, contract signing, answering my questions, to move out and move in 10 days later, these folks were fantastic. Friendly, reliable, professional - and they came in at a little below their estimate! Ours was a tough move: lots of stairs, lots of obstacles, challenging parking. But these guys came through. Outstanding service.

Unresponsive, late, movers came unprepared and without knowing details of job, did not post parking permits correctly, brought wrong truck, and then failed to get parking permits at destination as well. Company’s own employees bad-mouthed management. We would never use Allied again for any size move.

This was the worst move we have ever experienced, and we have moved many times. The driver was up front unprofessional and hostile, and several times threatened to walk off the job. He was resistant to using masks, saying “so you are a BELIEVER?!?” in coronavirus (yes). His origin team showed up two hours late every day. They did not have enough padding, so had to search for another team to complete the job late at night. They did not shrink wrap and seal some powdered material we shipped, which created a giant mess. The driver never gave us an origin inventory until we called HQ. He then asked us to sign off on the destination inventory before unloading, which our coordinator instructed us not to do until the goods were unloaded. The driver screamed and ranted agin, then stormed off, and we still have never received a final bill of lading. Finally, he verbally attacked the attendant at our storage facility when they would not allow him to pull his big rig into the tight lot. Now Allied wants another $200 to take the boxes. Ironically, we also had a simultaneous corporate move to Boston with another company at the same time which was professional and flawless. Worst $21k we have ever spent. Stay away.

Super late in writing this review, but the experience left such a lasting impact that I decided to come write about it now. Used Clemmer in moving from the city to the suburbs last year. Super friendly on the phone to begin with. Then, things went down hill. Was moving from a row home meaning we needed to block the street off with signs. Was told that Clemmer will handle the signs and blocking the street off if we opt for that. I explained that would be great, thank you. Was told the movers would be there by 9 am the morning of the move. Took off work that day to be there. First, i wake up and NO SIGNS. There are cars parked everywhere along my street. Disaster. Then, 9 AM rolls around, no call no show. 10 AM no call, no show. 11 AM no call. I make a call to the company. I get the run-around saying they will inform the dispatch or whatever. Turns out, we were never scheduled for a move that day. Now i had a 30 day closing and we HAD to be moved out that day. So after screaming on the phone for 10 minutes, they say they will send someone to us as soon as possible. Late in the afternoon, after sitting around all day long, the movers show up. Except they weren't movers. They were warehouse employees that had to come do the job as, again, the company failed to schedule our move. Let me say this- those gentlemen were great under extremely difficult circumstances. I don't blame them. I blame the complete lack of customer service and general organization in the administrative level. So, I call the company back to say I am not paying full price for this move. You literally made me miss a day of work (turns out I could have worked the whole day by the time they showed up to move our belongings). The woman I spoke with, at this point i don't remember her name, was a complete b***** Absolutely horrible. No sympathy whatsoever. Basically said there was nothing they could do. All i wanted at that point was even a LITTLE sympathy. She never even apologized for the entire mix up! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DO NOT USE!!!!! Literally a red flag company.

Don't even read further. Save yourself a lot of grief. If you want snarky, complaining, unable to follow directions, cheating, holier than thou workers, who break, damage and lose your belongings, try these guys. Pay more, get less.

Packing of our belongings was relatively smooth. The moving staff was professional and courteous. However, upon arrival at our new home, we were informed that the crew did not have the appropriate equipment to locate our safe in its permanent location despite this being clearly called out in our contract and clearly communicated by us at the time that our estimate was performed. At almost one month out from our original move date, Clemmer has yet to schedule a time to relocate our safe to its intended destination in our new home. We also experienced damage to our walls and door jam as part of the move into the new home along with damages to our belongings. I would not recommend them.
