Was moving my daughter into ESU and picked up a sheet metal screw on I-80 the night before move-in on out way into town. Had AAA tow the truck to the Pocono Tire & Brake shop first thing in the morning. Given the pressure of the timing and having to be at ESU to move her in, JR and Chris were able to get me in, get the tire plugged and had me back in action in time to get my daughter to move-in on time! I can't thank them enough! Great service and great people!

Awesome place. I’m moving across the country and my car is nice and heavy, I pushed the brakes too hard and they started to smoke. I called and they got me in immediately, diagnosed my car right away, and made sure I was safe for the rest of my 20 hours of road trip ahead! JR was super nice and helpful, and Chris took care of my car quickly! Very lucky we ran into problems so close to a great shop! Thanks guys!!!

This is possibly the nicest experience I've ever had with anything car-related. These guys helped me figure out why all my tires (which are all fairly new) seemed to be losing air. (Answer, I've been driving back and forth across the state, with big altitude changes.) They put air in all the tires, checked them all, and sent me off with $0 owed. When does that kind of integrity show up? You want to head right here for your tire and brake needs. JR will treat you fairly.

I am very disappointed by the response that I received from JR when advising him of the work he did on my Volkswagen Passat was faulty. One year after a hugely expensive repair at Pocono Tire, expensive because of the work that was needed (3625.00, 7/2023) we took it to the dealership for what I thought was an unrelated service and they took video of his improper installation of parts that cost me an additional $1800 in additional repairs, including replacing the parts not installed properly)
When I spoke to him, to resolve the issue, he was polite. Neither of us raised our voices. But he said I voided the warranty by not bringing it back to repair it. The car wasn't safe to drive and I had only the one vehicle available to me so could not incur the time and additional cost to tow it to him. I had hoped for a refund of at least half of the additional repairs but he made it a point to tell me repeatedly "you know you voided the warranty, right?" We ended the call without any resolution.
My husband has always been a supporter of ONLY going to dealerships but I convinced him to support local.
Egg on my face, lesson learned, my husband was right and THAT is a bit of a bitter pill to swallow, on its own, thank you very much.

Do not walk run from this place! They are shifty. I took my van there to be inspected. They found things that had nothing to do with state inspection and took half the day and wanted an astronomical price. Additionally they charged me $150 when I turn them down. Go to Steve Shannon.

So from beginning to end I felt like I was in good hands. Being a female it’s hard to find a shop that won’t take advantage of your lack of car knowledge. Jr went through and explained the photos of what needed to be done and why! Yes ladies, before giving me a price they took photos of what needed to be done! Very welcoming and knowledgeable was confident leaving my car in their hands.

JR saved the day when we were on vacation! We had some break issues on the way to PA, JR was able to identify the problem and get the job done all within 24 hours while we enjoyed ourselves on our trip. So grateful he could squeeze us in and get us home safely!

He tried to bully me into buying all 4 tires instead of selling me one tire Bcz I needed it to keep on going
I caught a flat, thank god I know how to change a spare tire. I googled this place. I asked for one tire and the guy started making it 21 questions but then stops to say I’m not trying to lean you to buy all 4 tires. I said ok good cuz I just need a tire.
He refused

He refused to sell me a tire he started going on about a whole lot of other stuff to persuade me that I must change all 4 tires or he won’t do it.
I told him i just need to replace a tire to get where I’m going and he told me no.
There one of those mechanics that take advantage of customers who don’t know about cars clearly.
He didnt move from the counter he tried to ask me mad questions to try and tell me yea that’s why u need all 4 tires. He never even saw the car or tires ?
Im wondering how these people even left these reviews I walked in and saw what time it is when he question question questioned until he can find a reason to tell me I need more than I’m asking for. I just wanted to buy a tire period.

We had a tire go flat on the highway and ended up at Pocono tire and brake co. JR and his team were amazing. Very time conscious knowing we were mid road trip, and very kind. 10/10 recommend.

Whatever you do, Don't Go Here for inspections! I took my car in for a state inspection and they spent all morning looking for every possible thing wrong with the car. By the time they were done the repair work was more than the value of the car plus I had to pay $150 service fee. I declined their service and went to another mechanic downtown right across from the post office. Where they stated there were only 3 minor things that had to be fixed to pass. Don't go to Pocono tire & brakes they are swindlers!
