I would recommend finding someone different to build your home with. Overall, I am fairly pleased with the construction quality they produce. However, they demonstrated very poor customer service. We discovered some window leaks due to improper flashing and reached out to have them fix it and make it right. They deferred the issue to our general contractor, who also didn’t want to do anything about it - which they’ve used as an excuse to avoid repairing it. It has now led to mold and mildew growth in the window framing as well. So now we are left with leaking windows in a brand new house to figure out on our own.

My SMI home is 20 years old now. They was very helpful in design, picking out the materials used in construction, quality cabinets, quality materials used throughout the home. I was invited in as the house was built in the factory I watched as the house was assembled together and as I noticed something I had forgotten they worked to help me have the home that I have enjoyed for the past 20 years and I still highly recommend SMI homes.

I am a builder in the Pittsburgh area.I've been working with SMI for almost 5 years now. They always go above and beyond to make my projects a success. These homes are incredibly well made and far surpass your traditional stick framed house. I definitely recommend SMI and Modular Construction.
