I'm writing this review after being kicked out of this gym, because I was not with a "supervisor." I am a freshman at STAHS, and I run Track and XC. My friends that work out go to the YMCA, which is not only considerably less expensive, but much cleaner, and to my knowledge, this is the only gym that has a dumb rule that I can't go to the gym without my dad or someone. Would not recommend.

STAY AWAY!!! Awful club. All the equipment is old. The management won’t invest in anything to improve it. When you try to leave they want to steal your next two months payment because they take advantage of their misguiding words in their contract. Awful gymEdit: The lack contract is bad but the actual quality of the gym is worse. Just go to planet fitness or anywhere else. Save the extra $30 a month you’d waste here using equipment from 1997.

Everything I need is in this gym. Located right across from my job is a big plus. Absolutely love the sauna! Not sure what everyone’s problem is in the negative reviews, the owner is a nice person. Great gym!

A once-great gym and staple of State College fitness ruined by an utterly inept owner.

the gym closes at 7pm every day. That's unheard of, so you cannot go after work unless you only want maybe a 40 minute workout and to feel rushed and stressed. Terrible hours. Good news - easy fixL extend your hours and hire a couple people to work those shifts with the extra money that you make.

The only reason I gave the north club a one star review is because of well the womens restroom. The rest of the gym, especially the downstairs is outdated in both gym equipment and the ceilings/walls. This gym is poorly run and does not put money back into gym equipment or fixing simple things such a leaks or broken gym equipment. The gym equipment has dust all over them and never see other gym goers wiping down their equipment after use. Their is a centipede infestation downstairs near the platform. (I have had run towards me as well as see babies) and numerous of other bugs I have seen on the floor while working out. They might be coming from the gaping holes in the wall near the platform ??? (The platform is also unleveled and has holes in them) Their is a speaker downstairs that high schoolers will connect to blast the music so loud that you can hear them through your headphones. That's 100% aloud, but god forbid you hold the door open for someone while they swipe their card in. You will get yelled at for "coat tailing" and be told "that's not tolerated at that gym". Also don't use the mat or colored weights downstairs in the corner, those are off limits to anyone is who is not in "Sean's lifting group" whom pay extra to have their own space in the gym where no one else is aloud. I have gone to my fair share of gyms and I would never spend a dime here ever again. The owner pays the staff 10$ a hour but I heard he drives around in Lamborghinis. He is an owner that's purely out for money and does not care about his customers.

When you show up on your third visit to the club and no one can scan in. I got up, made a priority to get there before work and myself and 25 other members can't get in to work out before work. Huuuge waste of my time, thought it would be more convenient than planet fitness as it's closer for me. So far I am regretting my decision to switch. Hopefully they get the technical issues fixed or I'll drive the extra to go back to PF.

After 4+ yrs of membership and same type of lifting my membership was terminated for false accusations and the noise produced from rubber plates. Facilities have definitely declined over this time with loss of workout space and qualified staff. There are some concerns of mold growth on walls in the basement and roof leaks on occasion. There is a multitude of better facilities for similar pricing, but do to location it was a fit for me. So if low value for cost is your thing then this is the place for you.

I actually really like this gym. The updated 24/7 access is a plus. Super roomy, lots of equipment, and a women's only workout space. The only downside is that a lot of of the equipment is old... but still usable and not a total issue.

I was supposed to meet with the owner regarding working at this gym. When I told her an hour and a half before hand that my spouse needed to go the emergency room, she asked me if I, “Could’ve given her better warning.”Yeah, I’ll give you more warning next time my veteran spouse wakes up with no feeling in his legs. Nut job. Get some compassion.

Owner is a terrible person. Staff is kind, but gym has very little usable equipment. Worst gym in state college by far.

Friendly staff, clean and well-ventilated changing rooms with shower. I only go there for racquetball so I can’t tell how good other equipment is. This’s probably the only place to play racquetball in State College if you don’t have access to Penn State’s IM building. The racquetball court is okay, the hardwood floor could use some maintenance I think. Unlimited racquetball-only pass is $30/month as of August 2020.
