Wonderful repair shop. They are great and honest people with very fair if not great pricing. They are definitely more classic American mechanic shop not like the many shops now a days that try to screw people over. I always recommend them as the place in state college to go.

Front desk manager doesn’t understand simple english. Told him that we would be towing a car from another auto service and that the other auto service wouldn’t look inside the motor since there was a problem inside the motor. Front desk guy goes: “We won’t know until you bring it in”. Once the car got towed there, he calls and says “You didn’t tell us it was from another car shop already”. Actual waste of time, don’t go here.

Had my vehicle in for a camshaft position sensor fix, and ended up leaving with my vehicle in the same condition it was brought in with. We took it to another shop just to find out Stark’s put the parts in wrong. Once the parts were put in correctly my vehicle was up and running like usual. Unfortunately that cost us more in labor fees and upset us since we already paid so much to have it fixed. Stark’s charged me $300, told me my car was still in rough shape and wished me good luck because of the amount of miles on my vehicle. When people spend their hardworking money, we expect quality service and I would hope double checking your work would be included in that but I guess not. I will never be back and will spread the word.

I went there after seeing many 5-star reviews but now I want to say it is not what it looks like. They charged me over $90 for checking if my AC works and told me I should replace the compressor which would be over $1000 in total. And later I found out it's the draining problem - no need to replace the compressor.This place does offer some good service but also they try to rip you off.

I'm a broke college student and was super nervous because I just got to state college and my front breaks started squealing. The previous auto service shop I got my rear brakes replaced for around 700 dollars, but they did not adjust the brakes after installing them! Starks ended up fixing rear brakes, replacing front rotors, and tires too all for around the same price!!!

Stark's is a great place for repairs, service, and advice. Mike Stark is quick to find a problem and quick to fix it. Small repair shops like Starks's can be the best solution to the majority of car problems, thanks to their experience and good attitude. Compare my experience of ordering windshield wipers from my dealership and getting the wrong product not once, not twice, but three times. This was due to the bureaucracy and inefficiency of a large dealership, as compared to small enterprises such as Stark's where everyone there has a handle on everything that's happening in the shop. They see problems as a whole, not just a job with a job number.

Best local service station I have ever found. Real people who tan straight about your repairs. These guys know cars/trucks. No BS. No hidden fees or surprises. Just good people who like to take care of cars and give good service. They know their automobiles.

You cannot find a better shop for your auto repair, honest & trustworthy.Had to adjust this review. I had to replace my exaust manifold a 3rd time, starks auto replaced it after the 1st one they installed cracked. I took my SUV to a different shop, found out that the manifold cracked because the catalytic converter was bad, that caused the manifold to fail twice. Replaced everything _ going on 14 months without any problems.
