Dated motel but room was clean. Front desk staff was helpful. However, the exhaust fan in our bathroom did not work at all during our 3 night stay. The price for Fri & Sat night was $380 MORE PER NIGHT than Thurs night.....that is ridiculous because I got nothing extra (not even a working exhaust fan) for those nights. (and I spoke with others stayed at bigger hotels for less per night) Location is very convenient to PSU campus/stadium/arenas. Mini-fridge in room was nice amenity.

A small but value room.Food & drinks: Original Waffle House North just across the street 1/4 mileNoteworthy details: Shower is a stall with curtain

In the room was a bag of tortilla shells, eef jerky and other trash sitting under the table, the freezer had a bottle of soda in the freezer. The heater was making a loud sound all night. If that trash was left behind, I do not think the room was clean. Will not be back here.Rooms: Not clean. Trash in the room on the floor. In the freezer. Heater sounded like it was broken, terrible room

Great place to stay. Enjoyed football weekends there no extras but clean and friendly. Seems to be family operated, everyone was very nice and accommodating. Well worth it.Nearby activities: Close enough to Penn State activities and places to eat.

I've stayed at this hotel NUMEROUS times. So many, that I've racked up free stays through Choice Hotels. Never had a complaint. It's a basic hotel, nothing fancy. But I feel it is the best budget hotel in State College on normal days. Keep in mind that on football weekends, all the hotels in this town are expensive. This hotel is also one of the most convenient to see/pickup/drop off your Penn Stater to/from the dorms. The dorms are only a few minutes away from this hotel via Park Avenue. Highly recommended to stay if you're on a budget. And parents of Penn Staters, also recommend signing up for a free Choice Hotels account to rack up your free stays.

When I stayed here with my colleague for part of my school semester two years ago in the fall, numerous times we slept with bed bugs and were bit. Finally, I managed to get pictures of the bed bugs and showed them to the desk clerk who promptly refused to refund me my money for the room. Wasn't a necessity, but would have been nice as a long time resident who was living there for the fall. After finally visually finding the bed bugs, we confirmed there had been activity of them for numerous weeks prior to that.I would never recommend this place due to the BED BUGS and how it was handled.

Went to Rodeway Inn State college few years ago, I have to say that I experienced the worst experience I ever had, got bitten by a ugly disgusting bed bug(s), unfortunately I gotten bite marks/rash type itchy from BEDBUGS on my legs and hands when I spend one night at the hotel. Got rash on my legs. Found 2 bed bugs underneath bed covers after I got bit. Could not get good night’s rest all, was wide awake most of the night!Wish I could rate this place a zero! Disgusting! Will report this to health department!Never again will ever come back here!! I’m staying far away from that hotel!Other than that, quiet. Basic set up, bed was not much comfortable. Most part, quiet and nice to sleep. Bed wasn’t comfortable, felt like sleeping on floor! Not worth the money for stay ! Only stayed one night, left the morning first thing after I woke up! Hallway upstairs - smelled strong musty, cigarettes odors ! Not pleasing at all! There was no free breakfast. No coffee. There is ice machine in small main lobby. Hotel staff were very nice and honest. The hotel guy came to my car when I was trying to leave, creeped me out and I told him I’m leaving and not coming back to this hotel ever again!

So bad. Staff not friendly or attentive. We were upstairs in room 221 by the stairwell. There was an older man sitting in a chair on the ground floor up against the wall by the stairs. He was smoking a cigar and playing loud music. The smoke smell was very strong and intruded into our room. My husband and I could easily hear his music from inside our room, still playing after 10 pm. No elevator, so you do need to carry luggage up the stairs. Everything was run down and not very clean. The pillows are a joke. Not the standard size. We were only given 3 of these half-size pillows. The photos were taken the next morning. The 2nd photo shows the wall on the ground floor next to the stairs.
