Everyone here is very friendly and helpful! However, I am very confused as to how they “professionally” fit you for running shoes. I went to look to purchase running sneakers after experiencing some pains and noticed every pair of my sneakers wears out in the same spot.The guy was very kind however he told me to stand up, analyzed my stand, and went to get sneakers. Every pair felt completely different, and he instructed me to walk to the front of the store and back.I feel like this is something I could have done myself. Essentially trying shoes on and walking in them. I was expecting a digital scanner to analyze arch height, width, etc.

I have purchased running and sports gear from Rapid Transit for decades. Been fitted for running shoes many times as my needs (and knees) changed with age. I have always received sound advice from the staff. Supporting locally-owned businesses like RTS is vital because these shops are part every small town's DNA and history. They sponsor the youth sports teams, high school performances, and local fund raisers. The owners are our neighbors. More importantly, owners like Terry have never forgotten the difficult road they traveled to keep they businesses running and the folks who were there when their journeys began.

I took my husband to get fitted for sneakers to help with back pain. The guy (didn't catch his name) took his time trying different brands and fits til he found the perfect shoe! I'll be going back later this week to get a pair myself! I was on a time restraint today.

I needed a new pair of shoes and wasn't having luck finding anything that I liked and fit correctly. My wife knew the owner and got fitted recently and was super happy with the shoes she got.I went in and worked with a gentleman who knew what he was doing. He looked at my feet without shoes to determine what I may need. He brought out a few pairs to start and get a better gauge. After figuring out what I need, he got 3 that I really liked. The pair I was thinking of getting, he said he may have something similar but in a color scheme that was more my style (they didn't end up fitting, which he said could be the case). I ended up getting one of the ones he recommended.Overall it was a good experience and the shoes I got fit great so far. They have a fit guarantee too if they don't work with a bit more use you can get them exchanged. They don't have the cheapest shoes but definitely have great service and are knowledgeable. I'll certainly be back.

I needed to have a proper shoe fitting done, and there is no place in my area that does that anymore, and I was tired of buying shoes only to waste money. I’ve heard such great reviews about Rapid Transit and decided today I was getting that shoe fitting. Jay was very attentive to my needs, measured my feet, looked at the shoes I was wearing, and brought me 5 pair of shoes to try on. Even though the store was busy, he took his time with me. When I found the perfect pair, I was elated! The pain I felt prior to arriving there had disappeared! It’s amazing what a good pair of shoes can do for you. Thank you so much for everything! I will be a returning customer.

As a first time running shoe buyer, I had such an enriching experinece at Rapid Transit Sports. Mike (sales associate) asked me all the relevant questions to understand my pain point. Asked me to run a bit, noticed my style, and recommended appropriate shoe type (neutral vs stability) for me. He had me tried a bunch of different shoes and did the same running exercise to recommend the best ones for me. Those pairs also happen to be the ones I had the best feel while running. Mike didn't try to sell me the most expensive ones of the lot but rather focused on my technique and comfort. I highly recommend Rapid Transit Sports for novice and expert runners alike.

Best athletic shoe store ever. I have been there several times for myself, husband and oldest son. Doesn’t matter who the shoes are for they are the most knowledgeable about finding the best sneaker for you. Latest purchase was for our 22 month old son who wears smo orthotics. We called them up to see if they have tied shoes for toddlers and explained the orthotics. They informed us they would be able to work with us. Finding tied sneakers for toddlers and shoes to work with orthotics is not easy. So glad we went to Rapid Transit. They had a few pairs to try on and we ended up getting a great pair of New Balance Ultra wide with Velcro straps that fit his orthotics perfectly.

Rapid Transit was amazing! I have extremely flat feet and was having extreme arch pain while walking around campus all day. The salesman figured out that wearing a wide shoe would help with it. I've been to many shoe fittings and no one has ever recommended wide shoes since I have generally narrow feet. However it's been just over 2 weeks since I got the shoes and they are incredible. I haven't had any arch pain and i've never walked so steadily in my life. Definitely go here!

This is part of our annual back to school tradition. There are tons of great reviews if you’re a runner, if you play sports, etc; but this is hands down the best place to get shoes for your family. They will measure the kid’s feet, fit them with endless pairs until you hit that comfortable, stylish pair.The shoes are quality, the level of service is impossible to find anywhere else. There’s a reason we (and lots of other people) travel to this specific shoe store in downtown State College.
