Speedy pickup and delivery. Great customer service. Excellent car selection. The Avis agent in State College - her name is Paris - was incredibly courteous, professional and kind. She went out of her way to assist me with resolving a reservation error I had made. Paris' customer focus is highly welcomed and commended.

Rented car #1 for 4 days for local transportation. On the 3rd day had an emergency and had to return home. I was unable to get my return flight changed. So I decided to drive from PA to NC. Car #1 was a local rental so had to be returned and traded for Car #2 a fleet car according to agent.Car #2 I discovered quickly did not have a GPS...no problem I had my phone so plugged it in and headed to NC. I was not told this car did not have GPS and I did pay additional charge plus rental fee for this car.Just past the Blue Ridge parkway on highway 29 my phone alerted me it was at 6% battery life. The USB charging port did not work. My cord is 3 ft. Long, I was able to plug in from back seat and place on console on my right side look down to follow GPS while driving through the foothills of the parkway. 60 miles later I found a store that sold long charging cords so I could move phone to my dash.When I turned this car in I told the agent that I was not asking for a comp, my only request was for this car to not be rented until repaired. He totally blew me off. I called Avis with the same request, asking only for a follow-up call. To date no follow up.Avis used to be my go to for rental cars. Very disappointing experience.

Life savers!! We showed up to the airport with 6 kids + suitcases and were refused a rental at Hertz (another story)Thank goodness Avis was there, the man at the counter quickly stepped in to help us. All he needed was my ID and credit card. His pricing was actually $200 cheaper than Hertz. Car was clean and in great condition. Easy process and seriously saved us, thank you again!!

DONT RENT HERE. They get you after return with hidden fees. And the tall guy with dreads is a jerk and should be fired. Always had an attitude and was the most unprofessional person I’ve ever had to deal with.

The Avis car rental at State College Airport has polite and friendly staff. They made my pick up quick and were helpful. Will rent again if needed here.

One way rental they provide you beaten up dirty run down “corporate” fleet they save the new clean cars for local rentals. I was first given a damaged beaten up dirty kia told no damage. I walked back in and asked another car. This one smelled like smoke and turns out key fob wasnt working i got locked out when back at hotel until i learned manual key. Avis roadside said this location said had no vehicles to exchange which was a lie and the proceeded with no solution to accomodate. They rent a vehicle without checking key fob works (basic). They then said perhaps i can drive 63 miles to exchange if they have. Then by roadside manager told buy a battery myself see if that works. Avis corp customer svce said nothing they can do. Cant dial out to this location. I asked bring me a car, key fob battery or new key fob, told me take 6 hrs. All the while on phone for over 2 hrs. Told me i cant go back to location myself. Well i did. Counter person claims she didnt know it was me they were calling about. No clue. Gave me another vehicle. Huge jeep wagoneer. Smelled like fish. I just dealt with. Will never use avis again.

The customer service reps at the counter at Avis in State College. Pennsylvania airport were extremely disrespectful and rude. Brian was incredibly unprofessional. I will NEVER rent from Avis in State College at the airport again.

We are used to a Honda CRV so the Toyota Corrola was extremely low for us to get in and out of. I am very short so even in passenger seat I could hardly see over dashboard. The car functioned fine.

Rent with Avis and avoid Hertz at all costs. Was happy until they charged me $120 because there was sand in the car.

I arrived at the State College location in the airport assuming my car would be waiting for me and it would be a simple transaction. Not the case, apparently the staff gave away all of vehicles in the class reserved already and my choices were vehicles that I did not want or would have considered at all for our family vacation. The location is not that busy to not have a single vehicle in the mid-size class. Questioning how they could not be prepared for the rentals reserved at the location, management held firm that the four vehicles offered were all they had. Holding my ground, magically the car I reserved was sitting in the lot it just needed to be cleaned. Takeaway, the staff did not review their reservation listings and were not prepared for the day ahead. The vehicle was cleaned delaying my departure for vacation. The worse part of the experience, the management acted like I was inconveniencing them for honoring the reservation that I paid for.

I made an error in booking, and arrived a day earlier than I had booked my flight. I did do this through Priceline and had a good rate of $250ish for a week, and they assigned me to Avis. Luckily, they had a car available, however it was also unlucky as they charged me $148 for one day. They said it was Priceline's policy. Priceline said it was Avis. The clerk also didn't tell me the price before initiating the rental and telling me the ridiculous one day price, and then told me that I couldn't cancel the extra day as it would cancel my weeklong rental and the price I had for that. It was 10:30 p.m. at night and I felt held over a barrel. I was just going to do a rideshare like Uber or Lyft for $20 and return to the airport the next day for the same cost. A LOT less than $148. To top it all off, I was asked to sign a form about the car's condition - without being offered an opportunity to inspect the car. Completely inappropriate. Extraordinarily unimpressed. Will avoid using Avis in the future and hope this review serves as a caution to others.

The customer before us was very rude and the man working the front desk handled the situation with grace. When it was our turn, they walked us through everything and were very kind and accommodating the whole way through. Even though my dad and I were beyond sleep deprived the staff brought us some smiles and laughs.

Overpriced. Mixed up my car with another one at checkout and charged me for a full tank of gas, claiming I'd returned the vehicle on 'empty', when I'd turned in the car with a full tank of gas. They acknowledged their error after I called them and asked them to double check. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT and take NOTES and PHOTOS of everything when you turn in your vehicle so you can refute their mistakes.
