Agreed to a price for a “rebuilt” engine For my sons car for college. When I went to pick the car up, I was told he put a long block bought from a junkyard with 98,000 miles and a 6,000 mile warranty and requires half the parts off the original motor instead of the rebuilt motor! He claimed this is what we agreed to. NOT! Then he said the motor was $1400, plus $800 to install, $30 for oil, and $30 for antifreeze and $150 for a battery. After driving the car 5 miles down the road, engine light came on and it shut off. Charged me another $200 for oxygen sensor and labor! When I finally got the car home, I noticed the back seat floor was full of the junk parts, bolts and pieces! Couldn’t even Clean up! Also, i noticed the receipt for the junkyard engine he bought had “blacked out” dollar amounts. I was able to read the totals and noticed the motor was purchased for way less then he charged me! That’s a helluva markup!! Total cost was $2700 for half a junkyard motor with 98,000 miles on it and a bogus 6,000 mile warranty!The power steering began grinding today, and when my son called him to discuss, the owners response was “get educated”! This power steering pump was brand new and was installed just before the car went to him and was fine.Wouldn’t surprise me if he damaged it!A few minutes prior to this, he put a couple tires on rims for another car I took in. They were directional tires and we’re for the front of a car. when I got them home to put them on the other car, I noticed he put one of them on backwards!Another bad experience.....(past). I took a brand new 2014 Chevy truck to get exhaust work done. When I went to pick it up, I noticed where he removed a section, he tied the 2 pieces of 2” pipe together with a small section of 1-1/2 pipe and 50 pieces of welding wire sticking all over it! Visible from the fender well! Quite embarrassing.Never will I go back. This owner of this garage needs to make sure the customer understands his motives before he hoses them for a boat load of money and shady work!Service: Engine repair
