Took my dog for emergency stitches after a grooming accident. They took great care of my pup and were easy to speak with. They followed up nicely and the vet tech I saw was so sweet and gentleman working the phones was so kind when I was obviously upset. I would give 5 stars but I was given pricing with no alternatives and I think that should always be an option without asking. We worked it out and my pet got the best care!

If I could give a negative star I would !! Took my pup here yesterday for coughing an labored breathing, around 7am., was greeted promptly & told there was no Dr. there overnight and a Dr. wouldn't be in until 8, an wouldn't be seen til 10. THEN WHY ARE YOU OPEN AS AN EMERGENCY VET & CANNOT PROVIDE ANY CARE ?!?! Nothing listed on their website about no Drs. available, they didn't offer any other places to go, was just told sorry. DO NOT GO HERE...EVER !!!!!!

UPDATE - I now understand the negative reviews; serious lack of communication and overcharging for routine annual pet vaccinations. my fiancée took my dog for his annual appointment last month & was given the option by the vet to space out his 4 needed vaccinations so his annual visit wouldn't be as expensive. he booked a secondary appointment for this monday & was charged $190 total for a distemper shot and "exam"??? even though my dog was 100% healthy and received his annual exam just the week before? this same shot is $40 at other places I have contacted with no exam fee. what a waste of money...i will be taking my dog and kitten to a new vet. disappointed because initially really liked this place

This is the most corrupt, money-hungry group of people that claim to be in the business of care and compassion I have ever seen. I brought my dog in to get shots in October and they said we could space out his four annual shots and it would not cost any more to space them out. Then I bring him in on Monday and they charge me $130 for an exam, which completely contradicts what they told me previously. I then asked the vet, Dr. Earle, very directly if I would be charged for an exam if I brought him another time for his final shot, and she told me no. When I called later to schedule his shot, they told me he would need an exam and we would have to pay an additional $130 for the exam. So, I was directly lied to on two separated occasions by a vet and her assistant who claimed to be looking out for the patient's best interests. When I looked into it later, I found that both Petco and SPCA charge roughly $45 for the Distemper or Bordatella with no exam fee, compared to $65 at VCA Old Marple on top of the $130 exam-which was ultimately just putting my dog on a scale, listening to his heartbeat, and feeling his ribs. I will never bring any animals to this establishment again and quite frankly will never do business with any VCA affiliate because of the way this branch conducts its business and treats its customers.

Dr. Raven and the staff took such good care of our girl. They saw her same day and when she needed stitches, took care of it right then. Dr. Raven even called on a Saturday to check up on her.I would give 5 stars, but their costs are quite a bit steeper than other vets in the area, though I can't say they aren't worth every penny.Update:Should be 5 stars for the staff and Dr. Raven. They are kind, compassionate and took wonderful care of out dog.Ought to be zero stars for cost.-$132 to walk in the door-Surgery and anesthesia ~ $800...I can't rate that but actually didn't seem so excessive.-Meds are the biggest issue. When compared to a well known online retailer, one was 183% higher, one was 574% higher, and the third was a crazy 1379% higher!-What's worse, is VCA sent an email today for their own online ordering. Per pill cost at the office vs. their own online ordering, showing the % markup:3.94 vs. 2.40 - 64%1.28 vs. .29 - 341%6.21 vs. 1.34 - 363%This is, in my opinion extremely unethical. They are taking advantage of people who love their pets and will do and pay anything to care for them, so they upcharge everything knowing that folks won't say no.

Vca was great with my cat who has been very sick. I took my cat in recently and saw vet Doctor abbey Earle. She was so good with my cat and provided such great care for him. Her tech was a small blond young lady and she was also helpful and was very patient with me when she went over the medications with me before leaving the hospital. I don't remember her name but they both answered my book of questions. Everyone at Vca has been so welcoming and I had a very nice experience.

What a kind and caring animal hospital. Unfortunately for me it was a sad visit as my little buddy was in some respiratory distress . Front the kind young lady at the front desk to the Doctor to the staff as we were leaving they were all so amazingly kind and compassionate to what are family was going through. Dr Branner was so kind but made sure I understood the gravity of my beloved dog’s condition. She made this heart wrenching process a bit more bearable. I never thought we would have to say goodbye so soon but this place helped us through every step.

Hospital has gone down hill over the last few years. Many services need to referred out. Way too much money for service that is subpar.

This place is inconsistent at best. They've been given way too many chances. I'd like to preface this by saying that I am quite compassionate to people in vet medicine- it is a difficult field to be in, and I give them a lot of grace-- but please do not go here, especially if you have a cat. They are absolutely money hungry here, pushing treatments that weren't needed on many occasions. (The pricing and professionalism were all over the place as well, and they wrote incorrect information on multiple occasion's in my pet's records so either they don't listen well, or they are sketchy). The idea is that you pay more to get better care, and this was not the case at VCA Old Marple...time and time again. I have endured nasty behavior from the staff and have heard staff gossiping and talking s*** about other clients. I won't get into details here, but trust me, I am being generous with this review.

Took my very ill dog into the ER, I was seen 2 hours after arriving to be told my dog was fine just a digestive issue. Sent home that evening with meds, the dog was dead by the next morning. $558 × $40 for cremation. I was too upset at the time to post but my sorrow has turned to anger. Do yourself a favor if you have a seriously ill pet, avoid this place

I've seen both very positive and very negative reviews, but the negative reviews just don't align with my experience. We recently moved to the area and actually had our dog's annual visit set up, but before we could get to that visit, she started getting really sick. She was an older dog and she had been slowing, but it turned out (like at least another commenter here) she had cancer all in her lungs and it had rapidly expanded and just was too much for her. The doctors were so compassionate and caring to a dog they had never before the night we came in and the next day when we had to put her down. As far as costs, the staff and doctors seemed to do everything to actually limit our expenses. The doctor had prescribed 3 scans, but after the first scan, it became clear what the issue was and that it was just very advanced cancer; so they canceled the other two tests. If they were out for just making money they could have easily run the other two and charged us (and I wouldn't have known the difference) but instead, they saved us a lot of money (and of course more testing on our already sick pup). Also, I saw some critiques of the staff, but everyone I dealt with was so caring and lovely. Even when we had to go pick her ashes (which was awful), as soon as I came in and told the woman at the front desk why I was there I just was greated with so much compassion. She didn't just hand over a bag with our dog's ashes. She carried her with both hands, supported the bag like it was containing something incredibly valuable (which it was), and walked around the counter and handed it to me carefully and expressed her remorse. I don't know why that interaction stood out to me so much; but it truly made a difference.Afterwards, we also received handwritten cards (that were unique to our dog; not just form letters) from both the first doc that saw her and the doc that had to put her down. Again, for a dog they had only met once. It really meant a lot.
