I visited this MAC Cosmetics counter at the Macy's store in Springfield Mall this morning.Last week, I had a satisfactory experience with a MAC Artist named Jenny. She apologized for what had become a 2 to 3-hour session due to the lack of staff. She suggested that Tuesdays and Wednesdays would provide a better service experience. Consequently, I returned today - a Tuesday, hoping that Jenny or any available artist could work closer to the one-hour appointment timeframe she had discussed.I arrived at 10:12 a.m. and met with Jenny again, who scheduled my makeup application for 11 a.m. This left me with a 45-minute wait in my car.At 10:56 a.m., I returned to the counter, ready to begin my appointment. However, Jenny informed me that her manager, Kierra, who had come in late after Jenny scheduled my application, had assigned her to "task duty." Unfortunately, this meant that Jenny could not perform my makeup application at the scheduled time or later in the day.Eager to resolve the situation, I requested to speak with Kierra and waited patiently for her to conclude her previous engagement with another customer, which took approximately 5 to 8 minutes.After introductions, I expressed my dismay upon learning that my confirmed makeup appointment, scheduled an hour earlier, had been canceled due to Kierra's last-minute work orders. Kierra accepted responsibility and acknowledged that her actions had caused this inconvenience. However, Kierra affirmed that Jenny could not provide the service I had been waiting for. As a last resort, I asked if Kierra could perform the service instead. Unfortunately, she declined, stating, "I also have to work on the floor. The Christmas display needs to go up, and we only have two days to do it."This incident demonstrated a profound disregard for my time and the value I placed on becoming a weekly customer. Had Kierra arrived punctually for her shift, Jenny would have had her task list well in advance, sparing me from wasting my time and energy. The professionalism and customer service I expect from a MAC Artist with the title of Manager could have been more present. If my scheduled and confirmed 60-minute makeup application can disrupt Kierra's 48-hour schedule, Kierra's time management skills might need some improvement. I am so disappointed that I cannot imagine wasting more time at the Springfield Macy's MAC Counter under this poor management ever again. But, if you have the time, Jenny is great.
