Dr. Leia and her staff are incredibly kind and personable. Dr. Leia guided us through our dog's Roxey lymphoma journey, and when the end was near, she answered questions over email and phone and always made time in her busy schedule to help us. She is wonderful with our other three dogs -- two with complex medical issues. She takes the time to make you feel like a partner in medical care, and she speaks honestly but with great compassion. My husband and I are so appreciative of her care and support.

First experience with Companions First... We adopted our cat, Rachael, from a foster family who had taken her to Companions First for three years and an oral surgery before we adopted in 2017. Rachael suddenly had more mouth issues last night (2022), prompting a flurry of calls when businesses opened today. Our first call was to see what Companions First recommended and what records they had... there was some back and forth, but I would like to give special thanks to receptionists Dan for giving me the number for two urgent care facilities, and Lisa for calling the foster family for us and retrieving our cat's medical records for us. Of course, office hours and available time is scarce for vets, but I commend the reception staff for quick response and going above and beyond to help us and our adopted fur-daughter.

I have only been here once. I have a friend who has gone here and that is why i knew of where they were. I unfortunately do not have a happy story about my loved cat Loki which passed on this day 8/15/22. My review is based off of the only experience I have had at this clinic on this horrible day. My Loki suffered a fatal sudden health issue that was described to me as a possible blood clot based off the description of events that happened that morning before I rushed him here knowing they were the closest to me, but also knowing deep down it was already too late. I rushed in their door shortly after they had opened on a Monday morning and they did what they could, and when the time came to tell me what I had already known they were very sympathetic to my loss. Very friendly and kind. I picked up his ashes days later and dropped off a thank you card for being compassionate to a client they had never met before. Though i could not get words out the day i dropped off that card the staff was still empathetic. A few days later they impressed me again with a card in the mail signed by all the staff showing their sympathy for my loss from each one of them. They didn't have to go that extra step but they did. So thank you again Dr. Lila, Daisy, Dan, Lisa, Melisa, Lauren, Angela, Amber & Sharon. I apologize if i misspelled or missed someone. I may not have met all of you but your compassion may have earned a new client and hope to get that chance as I still have my baby girl Luna, a beautiful black cat that is also missing her buddy Loki these last few days. Thank you again for all that you do for furry family.

I would give 0 stars if I could. My fiancé, his parents and I went to put their family dog down after 15 years and they would not let all 3 of them in to say goodbye. Only 2 person limit with “shifts” to say goodbye. There’s is no reason whatsoever that 3 people cannot be allowed to say goodbye to their family dog together. I did not think that a vet of all places would want to make this emotional time even worse but they did.

My 7 year old boxer started vomiting out of nowhere. After taking her to be seen Dr. Leia was insisting she swallowed something.(I expressed that she doesn’t chew anything) Well after negative X-rays they took blood and found a UTI(which wasn’t the problem). She then said we can treat it as a ulcer. (More antibiotics and other meds for ulcers) I expressed to her multiple times I think something else is going on. I declined a second set of X-rays and took her advice of a $3,000 scope.I decided prior to the scope to go get a 2nd opinion from FAMILY VET CARE. Well I wish I would have taken my beloved boxer to FAMILY VET CARE in the first place because after just 1 visit and a couple tests they found my boxer had lymphoma cancer. Something Dr. Leia is clearly not capable of finding after multiple visits to her. They also neglected to include the blood work in the requested history to family care vet so I had to pay for it again.I lost my boxer 10 days later. I know my boxer couldn’t have been saved either way. But Dr. Leia robbed me and my family of precious time and making my boxer comfortable and live out the rest of her life as she deserved.Shame on companions first and there terrible medical practices as they are not capable of diagnosing a common issue boxers have and god knows what else. They may be good for simple vaccines and wellness checks but that’s where I would draw the line. If you care for your animal stay clear from companions first.
