This place doesn’t try to help the animals. Makes it nearly impossible to adopt. Taking advantage of innocent animals in need of a home & people with good hearts trying to adopt. They Look at u & talk to u like you have 3 heads for going there to adopt a pet as if that isn’t the entire point of the place.

I visited Griffin Pond in hopes to get justice for 2 beautiful husky that we believe were dropped,(abandoned). The girls that work at Griffin Pond were wonderful. They were already investigating the matter. They were very informative and you can certainly tell that each and every one of these sweet girls had their hearts right where thet had to be for the Animals. Those animals at that shelter have no worries with those girls around.I am still trying to do what I could to bring justice for these Huskys.Working with Animal Control also, Still waiting for a response back from the person on the original post where the gentleman said that the dogs were put inside his gate and a car was leaving. Without that Animal Control said their not able to do anything but site these people cause they actually know who the owners are but they are only going to be cited which means it will probably happen again. We don't want that to happen so anyone that knows of this ordeal and has info that may lead to an arrest. Please come forward.I'm trying to see if the guy who put the original post up could supply the make of car that left and we could match it up to the suspected family we might be able to put these people if guilty where they belong.Behind bars.I know this probably wasn't the place to air this but I figure if someone reads this that knows it might be another lead.Griffin Pond has wonderful staff, friendly and big smiles and you know each and every one of those girls is there for the Animals.Anyone with info on those Huskys that were allegedly dropped in Claks Summit, call these girls at Griffin and Contact Animal Control.Thank you

Beautiful outside. I didn't come to see animals but to drop off blankets. The staff was friendly and thanked me. Easy to drop off things in green bin by the door. Very close to 81 making it easy to get there.

They obviously care about the animals, but this shelter is going down hill starting with management and staff. I applied to be a kennel hand and never received a call back after my shadowing, I was told they would - given I was looking for a job. I didn’t appreciate how the management was talking to the staff. My friend has fallen into a situation and is rehoming her cats, the contract she signed said to contact griffin pond. She called them and was given a lot of attitude regarding the shelters current over population. After calling and requesting help rehoming, it was brought to my friend’s attention from Facebook that a staff member had went onto my friends page (without messaging her) and asked a friend of hers about the cats practically insinuating that she was miss treating the cats. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate of the staff at griffin pond to not only not reach out to my friend, but to practically insinuate such things that can effect my friends life and reputation. She goes out of her way to help cats on the street when they are sick quite literally bringing sick cats she just found to the vet. She loves animals and I find it very difficult to understand how someone could jump to such conclusions.

They are the best they helped with a kitten that a black lab on the loose chased and grabbed it in its mouth so I took it up there and they had to euthanize it poor thing but the dog is still alive which shouldn't be if a animal does this they should be euthanized too

Had a smooth experience adopting my 3 rabbits through them today! Communication was great and every person I saw today was friendly and working hard. Facility was very clean and rabbits and all animals I was able to see looked well cared for

I've visited a few times over the years. The dogs always look well cared for, and it seems like they work really hard to avoid long-term residents. I adopted my dog Miles from here, and he was one of the best pups in the entire world. I'm so grateful that Griffin Pond made that possible.

i adopted zebra and he had been randomly biting me ever since (cats bite for many reasons but now that i think of it, he was most likely biting me because he was in pain and was probably sick the whole time) a month later he was throwing up blood and i didn’t have the money at the time to take him to the vet so i had to surrender him. 2 days after i surrendered him he was back up for adoption like they didn’t even check on him to see what was wrong. a few weeks later after trying to check up on him many times and being ignored i found out through another person (nothing to do with the shelter) that he is in foster care and he had to have surgery. if he was adopted in those few weeks they had him back up for adoption, he probably would have died in someone else’s care. they do not care about the cats health. adopt from anywhere else these people are trying to adopt out sick cats and dogs. also they do not put bite history on the sheets with their information. they always complaint about how they are over capacity but will not adopt to people who want to. it’s only about money here they do not care. i was bit by a cat when i was looking for a cat and they never updated his bite history and gaslighted me about saying he only scratched me. like how are you gonna tell me what happened to me?

Terrible terrible communication I tried adopting a cat from them and did everything they needed me to do but they took forever to get back to me. Most of the times I tried reaching out to them I was sent to voicemail and they still wouldn’t contact me after I left a voicemail and when I finally got a hold of them the cat I wanted was unavailable due to surgery and was put in a foster home to recover. I was never aware he needed surgery and they never mentioned anything about him having a health issue which professionally would have been addressed so adopters can know what they are getting into with whatever pet they are looking to adopt. Also the lady I was on the phone with had a little attitude wouldn’t recommend this place!!!

Very efficient and caring shelter. They certainly work hard for the animals, so major kudos to the staff. I adopted Emma, a senior cat, from them. The photo is her at her chosen breakfast spot. Such a sweety! I encourage readers to consider adopting senior pets. You'll have an awesome companion! If you can't adopt, donate to your local shelter. Every dollar helps.

If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. I put in an application and was met with no communication, and when I reached out regarding the application I put in, I was treated so horribly. They are constantly saying they are at max capacity, and then conduct themselves in the worst manner possible. Not only by a worker, BUT A SUPERVISOR. She basically told me don’t let the door hit me on my way out. No one that treats humans this way should be responsible for treating ANIMALS. It breaks my heart that theres animals needing an home / adoption, but because of the people they have running the shelter, those animals will miss out. Absolutely disgusted by this behavior, and will warn anybody and everybody to stay away.
