After researching, we decided to bring our 1 year old rescue here for their board and train program. We chose Tall Tails because their advertising specifically states they train using positive reinforcement only and specialize in working with rescue dogs. These statements sadly are not true, as they used a prong collar on our fear reactive dog without our consent.During our consultation, we made sure that Bill (Co-Owner/Trainer) was fully aware of the issues our dog has, including his fear reactive behavior. Our dog was in their care from Dec. 29th to Jan. 17th. We received little communication while our dog was in their care, including not having a concise pickup time. Upon picking our dog up, we received him in worse condition than his drop off. His legs were coated in dry urine and his neck was raw and bleeding from the use of the prong collar. We were told by Bill directly on pickup night that they missed multiple days of giving our dog his medication while in their care. He even joked that they could tell during training sessions which days our dog wasn’t medicated. When Bill did the graduation demonstration, we watched in agony as he jerked on the prong collar for multiple minutes and physically pushed down on our dog’s shoulders, trying to get him to listen to a command. Of the six commands they say will be taught during their program, they only worked on three with our dog. Because we don’t feel comfortable using a prong collar, our dog has made no improvements at home with these commands or with his behaviors in general. His separation anxiety, ability to take medication, and his leash pulling and biting are all worse. He now also disengages from training sessions by hiding in his crate. We were in so much shock that we left their facility without confrontation, not yet having seen the damage to his neck. After debating whether or not to move forward with their group classes, we declined and presented our discontent with photo evidence of his injuries. Having paid $2,200 for this program, we requested only a partial refund for the training our dog didn’t complete in their care and for the injuries they caused. We have not received any form of response from this business regarding our request. We do not recommend this facility and feel very upset for what our dog experienced.

This place used to be really good years ago. I had one of my dogs trained there years ago. When I contacted them years later to have another dog trained they never got back to me after speaking to someone twice. I gave up.

I cannot stress enough how amazed I am with everyone at Tall Tails. We took our husky in for training (4 months old at the time) because we didn’t know where to start. After her two week stay, she was completely transformed and knew so many commands. She was so happy in every video that was sent and the owners worked one on one with her the entire time. They kept us well informed and stayed in contact with us during the transition of her returning home. She is now a year old and has come so far going through more training sessions both in home and out in public with the Tall Tails team. She gets so excited when seeing Robin and is eager to get started on her lesson. Every time we have had an appointment with Tall Tails, they have made it fun for our husky while teaching her. Throughout this journey, we have been expecting a baby and were super nervous on how our husky would act in the changing environment. Robin has been fantastic in incorporating this aspect into her training sessions with us and gives us all of the tools that we need for our puppy to be successful. I have recommended them to everyone I know with a new or old puppy and will continue to recommend them due to their fantastic work.

We discovered this gem whilst vacationing in Jim Thorpe. We had done all the dog-friendly options and realized we couldn't do everything we wanted to do and leave our dog at our VRBO house alone without feeling immensely guilty. Tall Tails was filled with staff that appear to love dogs, they even offer options for snuggles and treats. This is a huge property, so your dog can go on really long walks. We had never boarded our girl before, she has severe anxiety issues, but this worked out so well for her. She didn't even skip a beat, and was so happy the entire time. I would highly recommend Tall Tails for your dog! Beautiful property, very friendly staff. Don't hesitate to trust them with your pup.

Brought my two dogs here for a week and they did great. Everyone I spoke with at this place was wonderful and so helpful. They were fantastic when I had a last minute issue on pickup day and had to bring my two young kids with me. They brought the dogs out to my car for me and were just so nice about everything. The picture updates were really sweet too.

Excellent boarding experience for our dog. They offer so many cute and fun add ons to make your dogs stay a great one. The daily texts with pic helped us know he was safe and enjoying himself. Highly recommend!

Very flexible on timing and kind to the dogs. They have options available to perk up the dogs during their stay so they aren't locked up the whole duration. I'm a repeat customer and will usually go with the extra walks and snack/snuggle. My one husky has cataracts and they have no issues giving him his complicated eye drops.

I have two difficult dogs (both pit bulls, and both difficult and unique in their own ways). The staff at Tall Tails have always been kind, understanding, communicative, and flexible with us. Very sweet and trustworthy. You really feel like your pups are in great hands. I've been going here for almost 2 years now, and will keep coming back!

We took our little yorkie Catson to tall tales for a two night stay. It was a totally wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff is so nice and very caring. We will definitely use this kennel again, and highly recommend this establishment.

I've heard so many good things about Tall Tails, we need to board our dog while on vacation, this is the first time he will be away from us. Went there to see for ourself, super clean, so many offers for your dog, the floor is also heated if the dogs want to lay on the floor, beds are supplied. I felt so much better going there and meeting them. We will be boarding our dog there, he's our child so we want the best for him.

Hip Hip Hooray!! This is the very best place I could have picked to train my 7 month old boxer. She was WAY too much puppy for me to handle, I am 75 years old. But I just picked up Layla from the 2 week training course and I could not be a happier camper. She does not pull at all and I no longer will fall on the front lawn from trying to control her. I can only say, " This is the Best Place to Train your dog". And one more surprise they clipped her nails, Thank You SOOOO much.
