  When you need flies and gear for your day on the Pine Creek at The Stretch, this is where you want to go. Under new ownership, but we found the general store and its friendly staff to be THE highlight of our day. (Yes, even better than fishing the river, if you can believe it.) If you have PLENTY of time on your hands, try one of their freshly made sandwiches. In fact, we are still asking ourselves if we should make a road trip back to the shop just for one more MTO Italian sandwich....

  This friendly little spot was a nice bike ride away from our cabin. They have all the mountain vacation essentials...milk, eggs, aspirin, fishing gear, puzzles... The proprietor is an retired Marine and will go out of his way to help his customers. I woke up on our first morning and realized the Sumatra I had been craving was unground beans. F quickly drove to Wolf's to see if they had a coffee grinder...they did not but Tom did, at his house. So, Tom drove F to his home to grind our coffee because he is a man who understands "happy wife, happy life" and because he is old-school and wonderful. Can't say enough great things about this gem!
