Extremely expensive. Can't seem to figure out why all the food I buy from this store spoils so quickly, and goes bad???

I love going to this store for our groceries. It's never over-crowded and has a nice small town feel. I don't like feeling like I'm in a demolition derby when I go to a grocery store like it typically is at some of these other local stores. The prices aren't bad for their meat products, and are much more reasonable than other grocery stores in the area. They even have a discount room in the back of the store. The staff is friendly and will go above and beyond to assist us whenever possible.

Last Saturday the cashier, a loud talking blone lady, was not wearing a face mask. This is required by kaw in Pennsylvania.

I really prefer coming here over a lot of the other grocery stores in the area. The employees are typically much more friendly than for example, the Karns in New Bloomfield. It is a small store, not a chain, so prices can occasionally be a little higher. However, that is balanced out by the many items that they have on clearance or discount. They have an entire room in the back stockroom with discounted items, usually things like candy, some books, and drinks. A good bit of it is past the best buy date but nothing I have ever purchased has been bad or of lesser quality. They also don't seem to get cleaned out as bad as some of the bigger stores do. They often have items that I love that I can't find anywhere else. I would highly recommend this establishment.

If you want outdated items, this is the place to go! I stopped in the other day and they had pizza that expired Oct 2019. This isn't the first time that I have found expired items so if you go, definitely check the best by date!

Prices are 50% - 100% higher than any other store, items are old + stale, Employees are terrible + uncaring.... Even when you do buy something on sale at a reasonable price, the cashier will still ring it up at regular price. The Manager blames this on the Cashiers and the Cashiers blame it on the Manager. Then because their system is so old + out dated, you can't even check your receipt when you get home due to most descriptions on your receipt simply saying "grocery" which could be ANYTHING in the store....

I go here for quick items that I may have forgotten on my regular grocery trips to Giant. But I will never buy meat here again . At least 6-7 times the meat has been spoiled, stuff has been expired, and this is just not okay. Pork, chicken and steak have all been returned on multiple occasions because they were rancid!!! The staff is friendly, and the only positive thing there. Prices are also outrageous!

Been here a couple times. Prices are high. Selection is minimal. Staff at deli counter gave impression they didn't want bothered and getting an item from deli was unpleasant exchange. Bake goods were expired dates. Someone is Not rotating stock. There is a real disinterest in employee pride. Leadership from the top is failing and it shows. Replace management with people that care and have knowledge in leading employees. Then just maybe this IGA will continue to have open doors. I truly don't know how their doors are still open.

This grocery store is right at the intersection of Route 34 and 850 in Shermans Dale Pennsylvania on Spring Road. The nice thing about this grocery store is that it is convenient and has some nice specials each week. It is now owned by IGA. I like to review the weekly newspaper fliers sent through the mail so that I can find out the weekly deals and plan my shopping trip there accordingly. I look for good produce deals and good deals on the chicken thighs as I found that their raw chicken when cooked up is the best in the area and sure beats the W place! They have a nice deli section; kudos to Michelle G who works there--she is always friendly and helpful! The deli specials are very good and the ready-made foods are nice for when you have to rush a meal. Ready-made foods are of a nice variety, including options like calzone, chicken alfredo, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, rotisserie chicken, cheeseburgers, hog maw (PA Dutch), coleslaw, potato salad, and various kinds of pasta salads. Located in a plaza with a pharmacy, post office, hardware store, diner, Chinese restaurant, pizza shop, and other businesses, Marketplace is a great convenience in our community!
