Rockhill veterinary Associates always provides excellent care to my dog for over 8 years. From the front desk through to techs and vet my dog and I are consistently given top notch care and kindness. Exams are thorough and outcomes discussed in detail with me. Treatment options presented clearly. We have been taking our dog there for about 4 years. We always paid up to be present for a vaccine and a blood draw because we have never had a vet who took our dog out of the exam room for this. Our very friendly dog got her lepto shot from a tech while Dr. Derstine looked on. No problem. Then another "tech" (long, dark, straight hair) came in for the blood draw and repeatedly stuck our petrified dog while she complained about "fur" until our dog understandably started wriggling and shrieked. Then Dr. Derstine and the 1st tech held down our dog until the incompetent tech got it write. We hate ourselves for allowing this to occur but we have never seen anything like in many years of dog ownership. Our dog ran out of the office and didn't look back. Neither will we. Dr. Derstine, it is not accepted vet practice to train techs in your office!!!

Love this office!! Dr Jenn is amazing!!!!! Staff is wonderful especially Cindy and they are so accommodating for appointments as well as unique situations like bringing my anxiety dog through the back door to keep him calm etc. just love this place!

Appointment for my cat who had lost weight. Exam and consultation was with Dr. Shim, exam consisted of check her mouth, took her temperature, noted she was a bit thin. Recommended bloodwork and subcutaneous fluid injection, I approved. Fecal sample, I had taken in, was to be checked.I was then directed to the front deck without my cat, without further contact from Dr. Shim. Carol at front deck informed me the total invoice for that day was $603.00, without showing me the detailed invoice until I wrote the check. My cat was returned to me once check was in hand. TOTAL SHOCK. ?♀️Update to this situation; notified managing director Jamie Rector I put a stop payment on the check, through my bank, until we can further discuss and agree on these charges.
