We started having mechanical problems on our way down to PA. We were concerned driving back, as it is a 10 hour drive. We took a chance and stopped here to have them take a quick look. They were incredibly kind and knowledgeable. They fixed the issue, on a Friday night, staying after hours to ensure we had a properly functioning vehicle for our return trip. My wife and son were stuck with car trouble on a visit to Susquehanna University. The problem occurred later in the evening, so they stayed the night. The next morning, Wetzel's took great care of them. They were able to fit them into their schedule immediately. Wayne was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and kind and got them back on their way home. All SU families should use Wetzel's for their car needs.

I can't recommend this shop enough, especially for Susquehanna students. It's a short drive from campus, their service is extremely quick and the staff is very knowledgable and friendly. My car went from unable to start up on a faulty battery connection, to running perfectly in five minutes. I will definitely be going again for all future car repairs.Services: Battery

I was in Selingsgrove for my daughter's graduation from SU. Our last 30 minutes of our trip from Maine we heard terrible brake noise. Got to Selingsgrove and the next morning I looked for open repair shops to have someone take a look at my car. I misread the hours on the website and thought Wetzel's was open on Saturday. So I went there a little after 9 am Saturday. The door was locked, but Al was there. He opened the door and asked what the problem was. I told him and said I thought the website said he was open on Saturday which he is not normally. However, he listened to my car and said he would help me out. My daughter's graduation was at 1. After assessing the car he determined what was needed. He brought the lifts down and let us get what we needed out if the car and then he gave us a ride to the university and he went back to the shop to work on my car and he did a lot of running around finding parts and all that was needed for the fix. Al fixed my car which took most of his "day off." I cannot say enough good about Al, he really helped me out of a pinch and even made sure we got home safely as he called me Tuesday morning to ask if everything was okay. I wish I had found him while my daughter was going to college as I definitely would have sent her to Wetzel's. Thank you so much to Al for working on your day off and to your family for allowing him to take away from his family time to get me back on the road. So grateful for you. Madolyn Mcatee

We were three hours from home when the battery light came on and my husband realized it was an alternator issue. I found this auto repair center on google and it wasn’t too far from us. We called and they said to bring it in and they would take a look at it. Wayne Wetzel did more than that. Wayne got us back on the road in an hour and we couldn’t be more appreciative as we got to see the last half of our daughters College basketball game. My husband could’ve stayed and talked to him for hours. Such a nice man. I’d give this business a hundred stars if it would let me. Professional, honest and kind! Hard to find these days. I recently moved to Selinsgrove and a colleague recommended Wetzel & Son's, since it's close to our work. I called the afternoon of Monday 11/29, as my inspection was expiring at the end of the month, and was pleasantly surprised when they told me I could drop my vehicle off first thing Tuesday morning. My car, a 2012 Nissan Altima with 127k miles, had seen better days. It was in desperate need of new tires, an oil change, an all-around service/tune-up, and I was worried there may be more hidden surprises. After some bad experiences being nickel-and-dime'd by the dealership for years (every time I went in for an inspection, it seemed like they found an excuse to squeeze every penny out of me - $300 to replace the turn signals in my side mirrors, otherwise they wont pass the inspection? What?) I was happy to do business with a small independent mechanic this time instead. Allen Wetzel did a fantastic job! He handled all my requested repairs without issue and for a reasonable price, and was even able to perform the emissions inspection (as my car is still registered outside of Snyder County.) I was happily informed that aside from a couple small things (like needing a quart of antifreeze), no additional repairs or major maintenance was needed. Allen even cleaned some corrosion off my wheels and topped off my brake fluid free of charge! Now, my car is running quieter and driving smoother than it has in years. I will absolutely be doing business here again, and would recommend this garage to anybody in the Selinsgrove area needing service on their vehicle.Services: Oil change
