This review is mainly for all of PNC Banks. For a person who has lived here for 10 years, I still get the cold shoulder at a business. After walking in the door, I was greeted by a very very nice person at the front desk. She was friendly and helpful before I can even say a word. (That is where the 2 stars comes from.) I ended up at this place because I got a refund check from my vision insurance and this was the bank that was on the check. I tried to go to the one that was on Main Street, but I found out that it was no longer there. So after I look this one up and called to verify that it was there, I went. I was in a very positive and Christmas mood until I got up to the teller. She was an older lady without a smile who was working the drive up window. The no smile kind of melted my smile away. After I gave her my check that was signed and ID, she was quick to dismiss the check because she did not see their bank name on it. After I pointed out that it is their check, she looked at it for few more moments and then proceeded to tell me still cold shouldered that they needed two forms of identification. After asking what second form of ID do they need, she rambled off a few. I recognize that I had one of the 2nd forms of ID which was my debit card. I gave it to her. After that she proceeded to tell me that there was a $10 fee to cash one of their own checks. (now this is where I blame the bank policy) How can you charge a fee to your own check? I've never had this happened to me before. We are I've got a check from some other bank and was charged a fee from that bank. But I'm sure that that's the banks policy. I say shame on you PNC. I am sorry that I chose to cash my check there instead of depositing it in my bank account. It just seems like $10 is an inconvenience fee from my $100. Since I'm not a regular business customer. After she told me this I looked at her with shock. That's when she proceeded that I can take the check to my own bank. I said that's weird, but no problem I don't want to argue, I'll just cash it. After the lady gave me my $90 (I counted along with her), I started to walk away. Then I heard her say "is there anything else that she could do for me"(which sounded like something that the bank told her she had to say after this experience). I just spoke softly, said no thank you and headed for the door. As I walked past the front desk, the very nice lady that was there was very quick to wish me a good day with a smile. After hearing her, I smile back and said I hope she has a good day too. I will probably try not to do business with this bank again because of the policies. But I really do hope that the drive up teller lady reads this and hopefully realizes the impact that she has on customers. And the wonderful lady at the front desk, (I hope you remember me, I'm the chubby black guy with glasses and winter grey hat). Thank you for the warm greeting and goodbye on such a cold day. Merry Christmas and God Bless You!
