I took out a money order on 1/17/24. I lost it the same day. I contacted the bank asking if I could stop pay because there was no name in the "pay to the order of," meaning anyone can cash it. Under Community Bank N.A. rules, if a money order is lost, a stop pay can be issued. I clearly explained the loss of the money order to two different employees, both of whom repeatedly placed me on hold to talk to the manager. Finally, I was told that the stop pay would not be issued, which goes against their own policy. There is no possibility that I lost my money order in my car or house. Whoever finds that money order can cash it, a fact that Community Bank N.A. does not care about. I wanted to switch banks over this, but it would take so much effort to disconnect my bank payments to different services, it's more trouble than it's worth. So, stuck with this uncaring bank for now.

One of my accounts was hit with a few scammer withdrawals. I complained to the bank about it and it took them forever to simply restrict the account. In turn, I was hit with more scammer withdrawals. There was no proof that the withdrawals were coming from me. The bank was super slow responding to the matter. I remember paying off a negative balance that the scammer raked up and asking them to close the account. They left the account open and the scammer proceeded in raking up more withdrawals ending in a $-200 balance. AGAIN, I complained to the bank about the matter in which the were slow to respond. I ended up having to pay off the balance again. They finally closed it, but by then I’ve lost around $300.There were other situations where I told a teller/banker that I’d be traveling and to keep my account unrestricted so I can spend my money in different cities. Teller/banker didn’t do their job, so I ended up stranded at a truck stop for half a day while waiting for them to resolve the matter.Ive drained all my accounts and taken my money elsewhere. Do NOT bank here.

Been a customer for 15+ years & my family longer. We've deposited lots of funds in our CB accounts over that time, but the truth is CB has become a bit of a crapshoot. Although I understand the need for security, they've zapped my card for fraud countless times when I was traveling & rely heavily it, even with travel alerts, etc. They did this to me when I was experiencing a family emergency, too, & needed to get back to the US, which caused me a great deal of distress & wasted money. They never even bothered to notify me, despite having my phone number & email. In addition, when I call in about such issues, I'm often talked down to &/or misled (i.e., by CB customer service reps, not anyone from this branch). For these reasons, however, we're currently in the process of moving away from CB.

The main offoffices are based in New York. There are pros and cons to this bank. My suggestion would be to choose the biggest branch closest to you.

3 black Fridays in a row my Visa checking bank card has been put on temporary hold after purchasing under $500 worth of items! So I am unable to purchase Christmas presents on Black Friday due to a hold that gets put on my card! Trying to contact this bank through their 24-hour 7 days a week service is untrue! During Thanksgiving holiday they are NOT open (Thanksgiving Day)Thursday, (Black Friday)Friday, Saturday or Sunday on line. So will this Black Friday "2022" be the same?
