They have the best hoagies around. Their hours kind of suck since Covid, but you can't fault them if no one wants to work.

I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of hoagies here in the Skook county area. I've tried every notable place in the south end of the county from Pottsville to Orwigsburg. Moyer's are very good. They are priced under $7 and it is a hefty hoagie. It is not a destination spot that I would go out of way for, but I would buy again if nearby and I would be a regular customer if I lived nearby. Also, they cut the rolls odd in that they cut through the entire roll causing the roll to have a "top" and a "bottom" like a sandwich and unlike normal hoagies. The may and oil/vinegar was a bit skimpy for my taste. Here's what kept me from going to the fifth star: 1. The bun. They use hard rolls which I think tends to cause the roll to dominate a hoagie. I prefer soft rolls so the meat is the star. They should offer soft rolls. 2. The onions overwhelmed the meat due to the strength of the onion. They should use a milder variety. 3. The ham used on the Italian was cooked ham, the cheapest variety of ham. They should step up to ham off the bone or even tavern ham. So...it was very good but not the best available in the area.

I wanted a sub here today after spending 60$ in diesel fuel, and have spent enough there on gas and fuel the last 15 years to pay for a wedding.... Also wasn't sure if they took cards. So I nicely asked if they took cards. Removed my bandada from my face to talk. I Was rudely told there was an ATM in the car center by the owner woman. After I asked politely.. and that I was walking the wrong way (certain route by the coffee bar was blocked off to the public due to covid-19 - I haven't been in there in awhile) . And that I needed a mask before I went any further. Clearly holding it in my hand. Kindly took my food needs elsewhere and I'll be doing so in the future.

I love that the gas pumps have tap to pay option. Subs are really good and good prices. You do need to pay for food with cash so need to plan ahead.

It's been a long time since I got subs at Moyer's. The first reason being that the owner's daughter who runs the place is IGNORANT! There's one person who works there that knows what she is doing and it's a woman named Brenda. Today, I was going to visit a friend out of town and decided to take her a sub. Two young girls were in there gabbing away. I placed my order for 3 subs. A turkey with provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. No cheese was on my sub. An Italian with oil/vinegar, lettuce, tomato, onion. Correct. A regular with mayo, no onion. I got 2 Italian subs. Incompetent help. Never got a thank you....just bagged my subs and pushed them at me. It's too bad mom and dad worked their butts off building a business for the daughter to run it into the ground!!!

Hoagies are made to order, and quite good. Been getting them there for years. The market is attached to a garage (oddly enough, my grandfather owned a garage, and lived above it) So the smell of he place actually reminds me of grandmas kitchen!(not a bad smell)

I am giving this one star based on my experience on January 7, 2018. I called in an order for 4 subs. Kaitlyn answered the phone and I asked if I could place an order. She left out a big sigh and said "yep." I ordered my first sub, asked for the ham to be chipped. I asked if they had ranch to put on it, again I got "yep." I almost asked her if I was burdening her, I was actually starting to feel uncomfortable giving her my order. I really wanted to say "never mind" and just hang up the phone, but I had hungry kids at home. I ordered 3 more subs, requested one without tomato and the ham to be chipped on all of them. I finished my order with her and said thank you, she just immediately hung up on me, no thank you, see ya soon, nothing. Got home, all four subs did NOT have chipped ham on them, it was just sliced. The sub that wasn't supposed to have tomato on, had tomato on. There was hardly any lettuce on any of the subs. I called down and talked to a red haired girl and she was pretty much unapologetic and just made excuses for all the mistakes and Kaitlyns rudeness. She said they were very busy (even though when I went down 5 minutes after ordering the place was empty except for two ladies ordering lottery tickets), she said that she personally watched Kaitlyn slice my ham and it was chipped. Now, how did she find the time to inspect my ham being sliced if she was so busy? I have NEVER had this kind of experience at Moyers before. It's really a shame that one employee can make me feel so negative about this place. I get very busy at both of my jobs, but I never treat customers like this. On the bright side, they did make us a new sub without tomato and refunded us our money. Now if only they could do something about their super rude employee!
