If I could give this place no stars, I would.
I never, ever experienced total disrespect from any mechanic until yesterday.
A little back story.
My step grandmother passed away on the 11th. At her viewing on the 15th my car threw up a bunch of lights. So on the 19th or 20th (not too sure) I took it too R. H. Watkins Motors in Saegertown PA. Gave them my phone number and also my fiancés phone number.
Called on the 22nd to see if they were able to lift it up and figure out what was wrong with it. My valve body on my transmission went. They gave us a quote of $1,144 just for the part. I’m a stay at home mom while my fiancé works full time, most weeks working overtime. So my fiancé asked the employee Chris if we could bring in our own part and we were told yes, there just wouldn’t be a warranty on the part/work. We said that that’s fine.
We were able to find the part for $800, $850 with tax, shipping and handling.
Fast forward to yesterday when the part was delivered and Joe and I borrow my mom’s car to drive out there and give it to them.
As soon as we walk in the office and my fiancé stated his name and that we had the part, the OWNER Rick wants to have the worst attitude. Saying he’s not gonna work on our car cause we didn’t buy the part through them. We’re obviously confused and start explaining how his employee said it was okay if we brought our own part and that we understand the work won’t be warrantied. Rick keeps going off saying how we’re “dicking around”. How he makes money on those parts and he’s not gonna use the part we just spent $850 on because he’s not making any money on it. And how apparently his nasty attitude is warranted because HIS employee went home sick and now he has to do his job too. Cause apparently that’s our fault.
The icing on the cake? He literally discriminated my fiancé because of his name. Legit said “well your name is Joe Gates”, meaning his father who he’s named after is another reason why he can be rude towards us.
Again, we just went through a loss in the family. We were just doing what we were told was okay and this man treated us like we were scum because we’re trying to save some money to put towards the labor costs cause we aren’t financially rich.
Do yourselves a favor and go to Clayton’s Auto also in Saegertown PA. They’ve been a godsend.

Bought 3 cars in past 14 years as back up car . 2 of 3 engine blew within year. The other was rusted bad underneath had junk it after 2 years but that is on pa roads
