“I had two relatively new tires on the passenger side of my car that suddenly weren’t holding air. I thought maybe I had hit a curb at some point and damaged the tires, or worse, bent my rims. I took my car to Goods and, lo and behold, they found a nail in each tire. A lot of garages would have tried to sell me two new tires, but Goods patched the holes and got me out the door for less than a hundred bucks. Appreciate it!”

“I have considered switching to another garage for some time as the one I was going to was just too far & limited in their availability to make it work as a busy & working individual.

After my experience at T&A Automotive, I will be switching to this garage for all my future automotive needs for maintenance and repairs.

About a month ago, my check engine light came on. I didn’t take it in right away because I honestly didn’t have the time or money to look further into it. A few weeks later, I noticed my engine was running hot each time I was driving it. My check engine light had gone on and off in between so I wasn’t sure if it was one of those “old car issues” where something was going wrong but wasn’t critical or not. (For reference, my car is almost 20 years old)

Understandably so, my car decided that it WAS a critical issue and started smoking one day while I was driving to work. I just made it to work safely when my engine shut off.

I started calling a few garages in the area that weren’t going to cost me an arm and a leg to tow my now-overheated car to. I strongly recommend anyone to check their car insurance for towing policies as I was able to get mine towed for free! (Thanks Root!)

I cold called T&A Automotive the same day and connected with Angel, who worked with me to start figuring out what was going on. He mentioned that he could aim to look at my vehicle later that afternoon or early next day. I had to drop off my registration & insurance later after work since I took it out of my car before it was towed. Angel had already taken a look at my car at that point and stated that my head gasket had failed and my radiator had cracked. He even took a few minutes to show me where the radiator cracked and talked me through what happened in my system to cause a failure. It was a great learning experience to help build my knowledge.

Compounded with stress after that day, I asked Angel to give me an estimate. He called me the next day to give me an estimate and when I called back, I asked for a work order in order to proceed. Angel quickly sent me a work order while we were on the phone and even walked me through each of the charges for all the line items. It made me feel better knowing what exactly I would be paying for, and knowing how the repair was going to be completed & prevent future damage.

The turnaround time was about a week, start to finish, due to the level of work associated with the repair & the built-in time for sending the head out for resurfacing (which was included in the estimate and something I never considered for the repair). Angel called me when the work was completed & gave me a receipt for the payment. Since my oil was still good from my last oil change, he took the cost off the invoice & even noted that he was able to fix my HVAC system by cleaning the connections to my engine & replacing a part (which had been not working for about 6 months but wasn’t essential to me —- having a car is expensive!! ??) as the part of changing out the head gasket is checking the connections to the engine.

I was FLOORED because I had only asked for an estimate on getting it repaired when he called earlier after my car was read and asked if I knew it wasn’t working. It didn’t even add anything to my work order and actually came in under the quoted amount!!!!

The level of quality and customer service is five stars and I greatly appreciate Angel for kindly walking me through the whole process with professionalism and respect. He noted that I can also drop my car off before work and they can give me a ride to work since it is not too out of the way, which is AMAZING as convenience is part of the reason I have put off the work so much.

They were even kind enough to quickly mail back my registration & insurance after I accidentally left it behind!!!!

“Just wanted to give a shout out to the folks at Horsepower. I recently had some work done on my 1968 GTO and found an issue with the repairs 2 weeks later. I contacted the shop and was told to bring the car in that day to correct the situation (an A/C duct was misaligned). I went in that morning and was back on the road in about an hour. “M & R saved me! I'm from out of town and the weird 5 point intersection in front of the shop was overgrown with weeds. In the middle of a turn, another car was flying down one of the other points and looked like they weren't going to stop. I braked, lost sight of the end of the curb, and slammed the edge hard enough to rip open one tire and damage another.
Luckily, M&R was literally right there. I walked over, saw Meredith, and explained the situation. She looked at my wheels immediately and took me back to the service center. They texted me a quote within 10 minutes, and were kind, courteous and honest, and had new tires on within a few hours. If it had to happen, I'm so glad it happened right in front of M & R!”

“I highly recommend Conestoga, if I could give more than 5 stars I would. Here's my story: on vacation, left Lynchburg VA and arrived in Lancaster on a Sunday, battery indicator light on, suspected that alternator needed replacement. Early on Monday at about 7:30am called to leave a message thinking no one would be there, but they answered. He said bring it in, said he would try to fix it that morning. I expected to have to wait, extend my hotel stay or even worse rent a car to return to work in NEPA and come back for the car when it was finished. So, went out to the car to head on over to the shop and discovered a flat tire- seriously! Changed the flat, got to the shop, discussed the issue and they took it right in. I returned to the hotel via Uber. Three hours later they called and said it was all ready, I told them I'd Uber right over to pick it up. They said, don't Uber, we'll come get you! I was shocked. They picked me up, we settled the bill and I was on my way back home. The price was extremely fair, they didn't take advantage of an "out of towner" and they mounted and installed the new tire placing the spare and the tools right where they belonged when they could have just chucked the stuff in the trunk. They showed pride in their work, care for the customer, and went above and beyond all for a reasonable price. I couldn't have found a better place. Thanks guys!!!”

“Harrison is one of the best and most honest mechanics I’ve ever taken our vehicles to. His prices are very reasonable and he does great work. Been taking our cars to him for 5 years since we moved to Lancaster and have never had a problem. I know he’s been in business here for multiple decades but still seems like a hidden gem.

Pro tip: There are multiple auto repair places in the same building. Harrison’s shop is through either of the two garage doors in the middle. I believe one is white and one is red.”

“Traveling from out of state and broke down on the turn pike. Google Gilbert's and called them, spoke to Tim, and explained the problem. He said they had time to fix it the following day. Had it towed to the shop after hours and left the keys in the dropbox. Tim called the next day and told me the problem and a rough price. The price was reasonable (alternator, battery, and labor) but a little more than I wanted to pay. Being out of state and broken down, not many options. Tim was very polite and explained the issues. He also asked if I wanted my oil changed while I was there. I would recommend to someone local or if you are in a situation where you need a mechanic. It was easy to get to, large parking lot to drop off a vehicle.”
