Second Time ordering a Birthday cake from this location in Red Lion Pa. It looks as if a fifth grader wrote on it.

Best service! The employee's are so kind and whenever I go I feel so welcome. Also one of the cleanest grocery stores I have ever been too. My produce is always fresh and I am alway able to always rely on Giant Direct to get my groceries right. Keep up the great work!

Routinely runs out of 2% milk. Seemingly any beer that isn't seasonal has already shelf-turded. Good luck finding a fresh IPA. And the worst offense... The Chinese carry-out now charges $1 for fortune cookies lolol, what a scam.

02/06/22- Update from below - today I called again because no one bothered to return my call. I talked to the manager ( I think her name is Amanda ) . i tried to explain what happened and after very little response I asked if someone could check the recordings. She then said , they already reviewed a tape and showed all four gift cards were placed in a bag . there is no way this happened so I asked to see it and was told no. She didn't even bring up a tape until I asked if someone could review it. I explained that I already replaced it with a card from another store and expressed the frustration however all I got was that they would discuss my concerns with the cashier. We spend 600 to 1000 plus every month there and I am not going to step foot in another Giant. What I am going to do is spread the word to all our family, friends , and coworkers . Avoid all Giant food stores ,especially the Giant in Red Lion , PA as they do not practice honorable transactions. 02/05/22- My family has used this store in Red Lion on Cape Horn for a long time . We spend a lot of money there and have never had an issue . Today I purchased four cards and 4 gift cards along with my groceries. The whole time the cashier never talked to me and spent the whole time complaining to another coworker about how rude customers were. ( the receipt shows the name is Lauren) She tossed my cards and gift cards down the counter after saying how inconvenient it was having to ring them up . Meanwhile I was being asked to move so another worker could get through to another register to help someone else so I did not see them pack up my cards . I didn't think to look because I never had an issue there before. I come home and one of my gift cards is missing. I look everywhere and it's not there. I call the store and after getting hung up on three times before I get a chance to talk to someone about it . They claim they froze up the register and would call me back in a half an hour . hours later and still no call . They could check their videos , they have my card number , my purchase receipt, and time I was there but instead, would rather dismiss it . It was only a 25 dollar gift card to them but it's something that was purchased and not received. I can only say that from this point forward , my family and I will be shopping at Weis right across the street .

I understand during these times things are gonna be different and un nerving. I'll begin with the color of the arrows on the floor with the bright lights yellow is next to impossible to see most of us have no problem with the arrows but the color could be red and that would be more noticeable. Second I also understand why it is necessary to have entrance and exit sides should had been that way all along, what makes no sense at all is having to walk threw the rain to get the groceries you just bought to the car. And when it's brought up there is a giggle and a duno what to tell you. Well I do, there are far greater more wholesome grocery stores within 20 minutes of this place and there un necessary need for security presence.

This store uses a tremendous amount of fragrance in the public restrooms - a full two wall mounted auto-sprayers in a not very large room. The fragrance hits you like a brick wall before you even enter the hallway where the restrooms are located. I was getting bothered even all the way in front of the milk display as was my mother. I had complained about this issue once before and been told they would remove one of the auto-sprayers but it was never done and that manager has since left. When I ask about it now I'm told that they don't feel the fragrance level is an issue. Many folks have allergies, sensitivities or breathing issues with fragrance as a trigger plus synthetic air fresheners contain a multitude of toxic ingredients. Why are shoppers then being forced to breath in this stuff while they shop for their food?

There is one of your employees at the register that always harasses me. He will find me anywhere I go in the store. He works at the Capehorn giant and is tall with brown hair. I would say in his early thirties. He's very strange and always yells my name across the store. I do not come there anymore because he is there, and makes me so uncomfortable.

I'm not exactly sure why this store has 2 stars? I know this store in and out so I can explain everything good about here. Giant is just another grocery store in Pa. Nothing special. We are most known for our Organic products including Nature's Promise, our Boar Head deli meat, and our chicken lol. I can tell you right now we have the cheapest meat around and it's pretty fresh, considering I've seen other stores sell nearly rotten meat at discount price. Other things yes are a little more expensive but some things are much cheaper then others. There are the sweetest employees who are very helpful. They also have a pretty good Direct department as well. Highly consider Giant over any other store

Worst market on the planet. Lacking the decent fair prices offered by other smaller local markets ensures STALE ITEMS. Forget freshness at Giant. Especially the meats and deli items. If you dont plan to cook the meat (pork roast, in my case) until the next day, it will be STINKING BY DAY 2! Same goes with the deli meats. At 12.00 a pound, the roast beef should not SMELL questionable after 24 hours. My theory... working class people cannot afford 12.00 for a pound of roast beef, so it sits in the case until it's nearly rotten, only to be palmed off to people like me. BOO YA. The best part of Giant is the produce selection. I can get just about any produce I'm looking for at Giant. However, it is still EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. RUDE cashier (12:30 am shift) mumbled, complained, eye rolled...the whole deal... when l asked her if her register was open, because she was leaving for break. I asked her if she worked at Giant... received a pay check from Giant??? I told her if she didnt want to ring my items, she could get her manager to ring them for me. Attitude abruptly changed. PS.. the store is NOT BUSY AT 12:30 at night, so what's up?? Another instance, I was checking out. My cashier was young... and very nice. She needed a price code on a cooler bag I picked up at the last minute. She put her light on for assistance. However her manager (a middle aged female 4pm shift) was busy yacking away at the courtesy counter and pretended not to see her. I know 10+ minutes had passed. Meanwhile, this poor girls' line is backing up. Finally an irrate man behind me in line starts yelling at the poor cashier. He then proceeds to go to the courtesy counter himself to ask why this cashier was being ignored. To make matters worse, her incompetent MANAGER comes over and yells at her some more, saying that all she has to was ring it up by the price. I felt so bad for this girl. She was young and new at her job. None if this was her fault. DOUBLE WHAMMY. I told her it was not her fault and some people are JERKS. BOO YA, MS. MANAGER ON THE 4 PM SHIFT. 2 stars are given for the only positives I've had at Giant. 1. Super nice deli lady (3:00 on shift) selling overpriced mediocre deli foods. (THANK YOU FOR BEING KIND!) The salad sucked but at least you didnt. 2. Produce department. Great selection, horribly expensive prices. In summary, this store has been extremely unpleasant and I've only visited maybe 10 times. If you're in the Red Lion area, go to Jerrys. They have the freshest meats, nice customer service and great deli. Prices are crazy-good. Their own smokehouse meats are off the hook yummy. Hot deli dinners and lunches are homestyle and delicious. Rewards card, even better. Much smaller than Giant, but a remarkable selection considering this is a medium sized market compare to giant Giant. You get in/out in no time with some nice groceries at great prices. WIN-WIN!! (You'll thank yourself, trust me) Farmers markets are great for FRESH produce that you may have trouble finding. Say NO to Giant.

This is my go to grocery store. I prefer it over Weis (sorry Weis!). The store is always clean. A majority of the cashiers/workers are super friendly and helpful. Some are better than others but you're going to have that in a bigger business such as this and plus I used to work as a cashier at a grocery store so I understand that some days it's a little bit harder to listen to comments over and over. I will say the the cashiers in the Wine/Beer section are always on point. They are always friendly and take the time to have a conversation with you (but there is less traffic in this area). I like that this location offers a lot of amenities (Scan as you go, Deli, Chinese food, Starbucks). They have a great selection of hummus which I appreciate. I do agree with some of the other reviewers that stated that sale items are often completely gone and not replaced quickly, but I am not much of a couponer and I'm okay with picking up a different brand/type of item, but I could see why this is frustrating. For instance we purchase the V8 Sparkling Juice cans and they have been out of the other 3 flavors for the last two weeks. I think the prices are compatible--no one is going to beat Wal-Mart but that is because they purposefully make their items a few cents less than all of the other stores. I like that they offer 2x Gas points and send relevant coupons to my house. I often get my gas at this location. They recently upgraded their self check out section, but it's not any better in my opinion. I prefer the ones at Wal-mart where you can bag and go--you don't have to keep the items on the bagging area to be weighed the entire time and they don't give you a lot of room so you definitely don't want to purchase more than 10 items or so. I personally prefer self check out because I can scan items really fast (again previously worked at grocery store). They always have a good amount of cashiers so you don't really have to wait in line for a long period of time). I like that they have the free turkey program around this time of year. I am going to donate mine to the local food bank. The line is usually long at the Pharmacy and it does take a while to get a prescription, but I don't pick them up often enough to care. I like their card/gifts/holiday sections--they always have fun and unique things there.

The shelves are always empty especially on the sale items. Even when the sale just started. I have complained about this several times but never changes. They have sales where you get a special sales price if you spend a certain amount but many times I cannot reach that amount in one visit since half the items I am looking for are not in stock.

Horrible horrible service. Yesterday I went to their sandwich section right below the Giant PANINI sign to order a panini. After standing and waiving to the people behind the counter, they finally just pointed to the deli ( they didn't speak English ! ). I took a number at the deli. After waiting 10 minutes they told me they don't makes paninis. I pointed to the huge panini sign. They just stared blankly. Finally at checkout I needed help with the bags. The checkout clerk just stared out into space with a blank expression. It never occurred to her to help a customer. What a horrible customer experience. Giant just does not care.

I was ordering Chinese food which usually has a long line but my service was terrible. The person didn't seem to know what they were doing.
