December 2023 by Randy W.
Apple Ford did a PA State inspection on my 2017 CMax Platinum in September 2023. In December, I heard what sounded like metal on metal when braking. I thought it might have something to do the recharging system since the brakes were just inspected. They told me that "a brake line on the left front caliper went bad sometime after inspection which caused the caliper to lock up". I was an auto mechanic 40 years ago so maybe something has changed. I don't understand how a bad brake hose could cause a caliper to lock up. The recommended replacing both from calipers and flushing the brake fluid. I reluctantly agreed as I didn't feel I had much of a choice. They quoted me $1100. She then told me that the technician recommended also replacing the rear brakes. They just inspected the vehicle and reported no issues with the brakes! I declined the rear brakes as I am going to take it to another shop for their opinion. My wife went to pick up the car when it was ready and the bill was over $1300. When she protested, she was told they texted me that price. I have no texts regarding price at all. They agreed to take the price down to the quoted $1100 price. This is not the first issue I have had with Apple Red Lion. I have given them poor reviews on their service surveys that they send out after a service. Hmmm...I didn't get one this time. I will never go back to Apple. Their quotes are meaningless. The bill has always been higher than quoted when I go to pick up the vehicle. In many states, that is illegal. I wish PA would wake up and go to bat for consumers being scammed by auto repair shops.

My boyfriend needed to trade his car in for a newer car. His car was titled in my name. So, I had to go in with him to sign the title over. This happened on July 8, 2023. They said they would take care of surrendering my plate to the state. On Sept. 1, 2023, I received a toll invoice in the mail showing a picture of my plate on someone else's car going over the Verrazano Bridge in NY. I notified the dealership of this right away. Throughout several phone conversations and email communications, I was told several times that they would take care of the toll and confirm the surrendering of my plate. This spanned the course of several weeks. Then I was told that I am to pay the toll and that they already put a check in the mail for reimbursement. They also said that my plate was turned over to the state but just couldn't provide confirmation. On Sept. 26, 2023, I reached out to my local police who confirmed that the plate was still in my name. They had to flag it as a stolen plate. I still never received my reimbursement for the toll either.

my car was to be fixed by the collision center under my insurane. First they gave me a bogus datye to repair and moved it up 2 weeks , Then the did 2 appraisals for the damage from one accident. Then they summited the repair work wrong to my insurance company. Then they did repaires not ortherized by my insurance company and called me too fight with my insurance company for the work they did without arthorization first. then they broke our power windows and added that to bill. then they charged us to wet sand our driver side and buff out and didnt do any of it. They were suppose to do repairs in 7 to 10 days .It took 40 plus days. The collision manager left messages everyday to get money for the work he did without insurance signing off on first and held my car hostage till I got the insurace company to pay 2800 mo0re for repair. THe car sit for weerks and weeks outside and was filthy dirty end to end. Also the manager of the collision shop hung up on us maney times trying to work through this situation. Last thing the have a car wash on site but left my wifes car covewr with bird poop and dust. from construction going on across street. After 2 plus weeks of havving my wifes car we had to get a rental and pick it up at there shop as they ordered it from enterprice. When we brought the rental back the manager refused to allow us to drop it off where they had us pick it up and we were forced to take to to the enterprice lot in york.We asked enterprice if this was protacall and they said no the car should have been dropped off where it picked it up at apple ford collision but dave refused to allow us to do that. My wife had to take off work the next day to return rental. What a terrible way to treat custmores.I knew the owner of apple car stores Mr Terry Steward and he was a honorable man. What happened. We are due a apoligie and for the work to be done that they charged us for. What a terrible experiances for us. We are waiting to see if they finish the work and clean our car .If not we will take further action till we receive satfaction huh. God bless .Homer. By the way I worked for Apple for sereral years in the past when they auctualy gave a darn about custmores and building a relationship with there coumminty

They sold me a 2019 Ford Edge with 66,000 miles on it and upon the first day driving my "new" car I felt subtle jerking. At first, I thought I just need to get a feel for the car. I never had a car with power, let alone a turbo, so I thought maybe it was the turbo kicking in at times. However, as the concern became more obviously and I was finally able to have it looked at, it was verified that I needed a torque converter, a $3,500 repair! I hadn't even made my FIRST payment and my "new" car already needed $3,500 worth of repairs. Their sales manager, Tyler Smith, said it's not his problem, that's what warranties are for, and he was cocky and rude. No empathy what-so-ever. The worst customer service I have ever experience especially after just spending $26,000 and trading in my old car. I took it to the general manager who also gave me the should have bought the extended warranty lecture. Mind you they never offered me just a bumper to bumper warranty. They kept trying to sell me packages that took my payment over $100/month ontop of the car payment. I did not realize I could buy just a bumper to bumper until I had to look into this mess they sold me. I would caution you to NEVER buy from this dealership. Our family has bought 5 cars there and took all our repairs to them and this is the customer service we get in return.

My F150 needed to have the cylinder head temperature sensor replaced, so I called Apple Ford of Red Lion to get a quote for the part as well as the replacement. The service advisor, Brent, quoted me $268. I accepted this offer and proceeded to take my truck to drop it off the previous night so that the engine wasn't hot during the work. I had a 10:30am appointment the next day, and I was texted 3 hours after my appointment time by Brent, and he said, "Bad news, for some reason, my labor guide was way off, your new quote will be $570." At this point, my truck should have been ready for pickup, but they decided to do the old bait and hook on me to get another $300 out of me since they realize it would be more of a hassle to me to lose more time from work to go pick up my truck and take it elsewhere. They did not honor my original quote. Brent simply said, there's nothing I can do. Brent gave me a quote that enticed me to bring my truck there, lose time from work, etc., and then increased the price drastically after my truck was already there for over a day, and it was apparent that I was cornered. To make it even better, I requested an oil change and tire rotation, and it wasn't done. I've always dealt with scumbag dealerships and service departments, but this one takes the cake. I highly encourage everyone to avoid Apple Ford of Red Lion at all costs.

Great job to these guys slinging the parts! I have never had an issue in my dealings with them. The parts are always priced right, the information/advice I am given has always been top notch and always assisted me with my parts problems. I recommend giving a call or visit for any Ford Parts needs.

Took my 2021 F-150 Powerboost in to have the recalls repaired and for a grinding/rattle coming from the rear wheels. After having it for a week waiting on the Ford repair hotline, they returned the truck to me saying that the "noise was normal." I drove it the following day and the noise was still VERY apparent so I called and spoke to Kody. He proceeded to tell me that the noise was normal. I specifically asked him if the rear wheels were removed and the rear axle bolts were checked since it is an active recall and a known issue that I had experience with the truck before. He assured me that they were checked and everything was normal. When I returned home from work, I removed the rear wheels to find that BOTH rear axle bolts were sheered off. The service department is guilty of GROSS NEGLIGENCE. Completely inexcusable. 100% reporting to Ford Corporate as many times as humanly possible. This dealership should lose their Ford badge. Criminal and negligent.

After calling and speaking with Amanda to assure a vehicle was on the lot I drove 1.5 hours to find the car was, in fact, not on the lot. The car remained active on the website for several more days. I wonder how many more were misled into driving to the dealer to find out that car was long gone? The day after my long drive I complained to "a confused" Amanda, I was transferred to a manager with a "full voice mail box". Unscrupulous and not worth your time. Plenty of other dealers out there.

Let's start with a list of damages done to the vehicles I have brought in to them.2006 Ford Fusion - Stripped oil plug after an oil change2015 Ford Focus - Stripped oil plug after an oil change, tire leaking after filled to 90 PSI.Now the annoyancesLoose oil plug dripping oil and the radiator fan blew the oil all over the engine.Car wash sucks. The employee can't be bothered to actually use the pressure washer where it's needed and doesn't get the car clean. I requested to speak to the car wash manager to resolve my issue, and after waiting for 45 minutes, I just gave up.Calling the parts department for part numbers. They "don't give out part numbers." I called the next Ford dealership to get part numbers, then drove to buy parts from them. Thanks Apple Ford!
