Love dollar tree

January 2024 by Anne Renée Cushman (Renée)
Well, I am so disappointed. I have shopped this "Dollar Tree" since it opened here in Mt. Penn. I was excited when I found out they were adding items at a higher price point for the added convenience of variety in sizes and brands. This store is a rather small store in comparison to other $ stores in the area. Although it seems like they have always had a high turnover of employees over the years, I only get to go to $ store(s) once maybe twice a month because of health and transportation issues and I spend a good deal of money there.
Recently, Sunday, January 7, 2024 , I found myself with no canned cat food
To feed my 18 year old Cat and 9 month old kitten thier dinner. It was about 6 PM. when I checked the "Dollar Tree" app on the Internet for this particular store. I was amazed to see the hours listed online said they were open until 10.pm on Sundays, figuring they were upscaling the hours to fit the new upscaling of the inventory.
When I arrived at the store at approximately 7:35, I noticed that the sign on door said closed at 8:00 on Sunday. I had about 20 minutes to get the cat food, lunch items etc. I usually spend a fair amount of time but was put off by the young cashier whom told me to " read the sign, or call the store" when I just told the girl that online your store was advertised to be open until 10 ,that she might want to let her Manager know. So not only did she get on the loud speaker and announce the store would be closing in 15 minutes, she continued making announcements almost every couple minutes there after.
In all honesty, I didn't pick up the cat food until after the "Store is now closed" while being followed by the manager telling me how rude "I" was. I was fed incorrect information by their companies advertisement. I took the time to bring it to the so called "manager"'s attention , and then put under pressure to make purchases like a bomb was going to go off.
I will, in all fairness, give this store another try, being a loyal customer. Through the years, I have never been rushed and disrespected like this ,in this or any $ store or store in general. There I s NO excuse . I hope this was a one-time occurrence. I was checked out, in the car, on the way home by 8 :15 pm.

Very dirty. Looks like several booms went off inside. Stuff thrown all over the floors

They have a good selection of items stocked, however they updated their pricing so it's $1.25 per item and not $1.00. Plus they added a "plus" aisle where things are more than the $1.25 as well as two sections in the freezer that are $3.00 or $5.00 an item. Overall tho a good place to grab certain things for cheap.

I love this dollar tree because it is so close to my home and they always have what I am looking for. I have 1 * today because I was appalled at the appearance of the cashier today. I know help is hard to find but does that mean in order to attract help you erase all the standards? This young man had a red durag on his head. His pants was sagging and about 5” of his underwear was hanging out. Was he unpleasant NO but certainly you can provide a dress code and a dollar tree shirt for the staff to wear.On the other hand he had his phone out next to the register and he was looking at it while I was doing my transaction. In todays confusing technological age how do I know my credit card is not being read remotely or skimmed. I felt uneasy about that in particular. As a rule employees should not be allowed to have their phone out around peoples credit cards.Do better dollar tree!

This store is always a mess. Shelves are a mess, boxes on the floor you have to walk around. Definitely needs to be more organized.

This store looks like it got hit by a tornado. Boxes everywhere only one register open and the other worker was just standing talking with the other cashier and texting only 2 of the workers there seem to do everybody’s work a guy that’s always at the register or trying to stock some shelves and a girl that’s always running back and forth trying to do both things as well. You couldn’t walk through the aisles.

I went into purchase several different things, the one item that I was going in for was a mop and there weren't any more handles on the counter so the clerk nicely went back and got me one out of the stock room! There's always something there for Anyone and the register person was very courteous too!

This was my first visit on Sunday August 14, 2022. So much nicer than the Exeter store. Great DVDs to choose from and there were plenty of crafts. Fast, easy check-out for those who do not like waiting. Didn't have matches. I think Dollar Tree has stopped selling them. I will shop here again.
