“Dr Young and his team at Animal Hospital of Willow Street have cared for my animals for over a decade, and I am so grateful for the time, attention, and kindness they have showed me and my fur-family. They have provided medical support to my four dogs and two cats, as well as grooming services at every stage of life- and have done so with professionalism, humor, and compassion. Even my more reactive dog feels comfortable with Dr Young and Dr Winning, and adores her groomer. I highly recommend this vet, and really can't say enough good things about them!”
“Love Smoketown Veterinarian! Dr. O’Neill and Dr. Russo are two of the best Vetranarians around. I haven’t met a doctor there that wasn’t excellent. They are so good to all of our rambunctious patients puppies/dogs. They take time to listen and really care for our pets. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a reputable veterinarian.”
“Dr Arnold and the rest of the team are phenomenal. Dr Arnold is the only veterinarian thus far that actually cared about my dog and didn't treat me as if I were crazy. a "mother" just knows when something's wrong with her "baby" and other vets kept telling me it was my fault. Dr Arnold however did testing on my dog and got to the bottom of the problem, even called me after hours one night to make sure that I got the answers I so desperately needed. she got me meds for my dog and helped her get back on track and she finally was able to not have insufferable Incontinence. I will forever be thankful for dr arnold and all my pets will see her. she is nonjudgemental , full of knowledge, will take everything you say into consideration and give you her best advice on what the plan should be. She won't make you feel guilty if you can't do something right then and there for financial reasons like other vets I've experienced. Thank you Dr Arnold for always being the best”
“Dr. Mary is a very straightforward and no nonsense vet. We like that about her. Our cat is 16 years old with a lump on his side. She did not try to push us into doing lab work or x-rays. We all know it's not good. We are just going to love on him for whatever time he has left.”
“I have 2 unsocialized feral cats. Somehow Dr. Daub is able to come in to my house and gently humanely catch them, evaluate them and know what to do. She is so so competent. So wise. I am so lucky to have her as my vet!”
“We have been treating our pets for a few years at Lincoln Highway and have had such wonderful experiences. Even after all these years they still go above and beyond to make your pets feel comfortable . This also makes you the owner feel comfortable as an owner with a more reactive dog.We have a social Bernedoodle and a not so social German Shepherd who is often not receptive to new people and will growl and bark. I typically would muzzle her at the vet just to be safe even though she has never harmed anyone in the past.Today I told the staff if they felt more comfortable we could use a muzzle. They declined and instead took the time to make my pup feel more comfortable. Christal came in first and was on the floor slowly getting our Shepard to warm up to her and did not give up when she shied away.Eventually she even got a little lick on her hand. This prepared my pup for both Dr.Lewis and Christal to come in and give her the shots she needed. They were both able to hold her and give her love and support she needed to make it more comfortable for her during her shots! This would not have happened without them going above and beyond. We appreciate the wonderful team at this facility and are so lucky our pets can be cared for here.”
“I am a volunteer foster parent for cats and kittens. The adoption center that I work with organizes a spay/ neuter clinic at Strasburg Vet Health when there is a need. I brought my 2 little wards there to be spayed before they could be placed for adoption. The facility is neat and clean and the volunteer staff was organized and calm. My kitties came home full of energy and no trauma or stress.”
“I didn't have a great experience with VCA West Shore Animal Hospital (and neither did my friends and neighbors), so I was reluctant to go to another VCA. However, I had no choice as it was a last minute appointment. My cat was experiencing some vomiting and I was at a loss. Now, I see another reviewer attempted to slander Dr. Leann Murphy, which is absolutely ridiculous. And essentially their complaint was about the bill. Newsflash, friend, pets can be expensive. Perhaps consider fish if you don't want to spend for the care of a mammal. My experience with Dr. Murphy was excellent. She did everything she could to exam my anxiously distressed cat before making a careful suggestion to place him under anesthesia so she could closely exam him. The medication she prescribed cleared his vomiting and she said it was due to stress (added another cat to the household). I'm a overly cautious and anxious pet owner, so I had numerous after appointment questions. Guess what? Dr. Murphy always returns my calls. Where most veterinarians would tell you "bring them back in" so they can hit you with another bill, she did not. Friendly staff. Thorough care. The bill was higher than I had anticipated, but that's the fault of the lab (full mark-up blood tests can be expensive), not VCA Smoketown. Yes, I would return to VCA Smoketown Animal Hospital, and yes I would recommend Dr. Leann Murphy.”
“I would never consider taking any of my pets anywhere else. Even feral cats if need be. My 12 year old dog Handsome developed an ulcer on his left eye. The vet tried everything they could to save the eye but it kept getting worse. We finally had to remove the eye. While he was recovering from the eye surgery he somehow swallowed a handful of change. We ended up having to have a penny surgically removed from his stomach lining. Then his right eye became infected. I was devastated, I was going to help my loving companion across the rainbow bridge because I didn't think he could have a good life as a blind dog at his advanced age. The vet, sorry I'm not good with names, talked me out of that so we went ahead and had Handsome's second eye removed. A couple of months later Handsome developed a really bad cough. So bad that we took him to the Emergency Pet Hospital in Lancaster. They told us that Handsome has pneumonia and that he had cancer. The wanted to put him to sleep. They put 7 other pets down during the time we were there. I think that's all they do there. I will NEVER take any animal there again ! I told them no and brought Handsome home. The Vets at Animal Hospital at Willow Street saw Handsome as an emergency basis on Monday morning. Handsome did not have pneumonia and Handsome does not have cancer. The other vet wanted to murder my dog for no reason !!! Handsome is now being treated for Congestive Heart Failure, which was the real problem, with medication and is doing just fine. Handsome will be turning 15 years old in a couple of weeks. Through all of this Handsome LOVES all of the staff here. Especially Emily. Handsome gets excited when we tell him he is going to see "his doctors". We take him out of our van when we get there and he walks across the parking lot and right in the door wagging his tail the entire time. Yes, he does very well being blind. It's freaky, sometimes we swear he can still see........ We also have cats we bring here. I had a Feral Cat come in the house. I called to make an appointment but could not catch the cat. I called and apologized the day of the appointment and rescheduled. I had to cancel the second appointment also because I could not catch the super intelligent wild cat. That cat is finally a pet now and I can get her into the pet carrier. The staff was completely understanding about the cancellations and I'll be bringing "Slinky" in real soon to be checked over. I could go on and on and on about how great Animal Hospital of Willow Street is. I recommend them to everyone who asks. Will & Cindy W. & Handsome, Zippy, Zappy and Slinky”
“Very kind and polite staff and doctor. Facility needs updating and maintenance. Odor was a bit overwhelming. Honest diagnosis was appreciated but did not have a solution.”
“Dr. Shoemaker has helped several of my dogs with her holistic practice. I highly recommend her! Excellent diagnostician. Caring, smart helpful loves the animals and it shows and they feel it too and it makes all the difference. We even received a lovely sympathy card with a lovely note from doctor when our dog passed on. This is truly a special place.”
