If you want somewhere that you feel loved for being you and are welcomed with open arms to try on a multitude of dresses Brides of Today is your place. As a plus size bride I have heard so many horror stories about people going to buy their dresses and being met with unwelcoming faces and a dress selection of less than ten dresses. My mom worried about the location that I started as she thought back to her time dress shopping and the unwelcoming faces she was greeted with almost five sizes smaller than I am.
I found Brides of Today on TikTok and quickly booked my appointment. After over an hour drive, and crossing two state lines I was shocked by the environment of Brides of Today. Upon walking in I was told about how beautiful I was, I welcomed in, and shown a selection of dresses all of which were my size or above. They had already pulled the dresses I had favorited on their website and I got to try them all on. Not once did I feel judged by anyone within the room, the atmosphere was positive and I felt the most comfortable I have probably ever felt at a clothing store/salon.
Within an hour and a half I found myself saying “Yes to the Dress” and crying in relief that not only had I been welcomed into the shop but that I had found my dress at the first store I went to. Brides of Today might not have the dress you are envisioning yourself in, but they do have the environment that can help you start your journey or pick you back up if you are feeling down in the experience.

Helped me find an absolutely gorgeous dress that fit perfectly. Very nice employees (<3 Tara) and was just a great experience overall. I modeled some of their prom dresses to help promote them, too!

Brides of Today was so wonderful!! I had such an awful experience at a place that was not inclusive at all, so it was such a nice welcoming feeling to be accepted and have dresses that I could try on!! I actually thought I had found my dress here but I had two other stops and found the one somewhere else, but I just had such a wonderful experience here. Thanks so much, Tara!!

Had the best experience at brides of today!! As a curvy bride, going to stores that say they are size inclusive, was still really hard and it was hard to get a true visual on how the dress looks like. At brides of today, not only did every dress fit, but the dresses where just as beautiful as any other bridal store (or better)so it didn’t make me feel like i was making a compromise! Pam was amazing and made me feel beautiful and went the extra mile to help me find my dream dress!! Cannot recommend enough especially for brides who are nervous about shopping with sample sizing.

Horrible customer service , my daughter in laws dress was ordered wrong , size wrong color wrong the date of the wedding was wrong ! If I could give zero stars I would ! 1300 dollars for the dress and didn’t offer anything to make it right !

My wedding was this weekend (9/16/23), and it was the most beautiful and perfect day of my life. I felt like an absolute princess in my dress and veil. Every time I look at my wedding pictures I am in awe of my look and overall day. I genuinely felt beautiful. Thank you, Brides of Today. Your boutique worked so well with me to identify my needs and made me feel beautiful all at the same times. Thank you again!

I’m very sad to be writing this review right now. I had a fantastic experience at my dress appointment. The woman who helped me for hours curating exactly what I wanted. She even pulled the dress I eventually picked! She was incredibly sweet, caring, and helpful. I was SO excited to find my wedding dress. I wanted to add sleeves to my dress to cover up some burns and scarring; she said it was not a problem and she would order extra material and appliqués.I ordered the dress 12 months before my wedding. It took 9 months to come in. I was told up front it was 6-9 months. The entire waiting period it was impossible to get an update on when to expect my dress. Only Bev (owner) and Pam (manager) can look items up in their system. The associates are quite lovely but can’t access the system.I finally get a voicemail from Pam that my dress is in at 3 days shy of 9 months from when I ordered it. Pam then says I can’t come in for another 2 weeks because they’re too busy to get my dress ready. My local seamstress said she needed the dress 3 months out to do the alterations, including the sleeves. I try calling back when they are allegedly open and it takes 2 days to get Bev on the phone, who then says I need to talk to Pam, then I get a 10 minute talk about how busy they are and how many dresses they have in. I offer that I can come in anytime in the next 10 days; I’m trying to be polite and flexible. I end up just making an appointment for Saturday and going in. Miraculously, my dress is ready. When I ask about the extra material for sleeves, Pam immediately gets defensive and says it wasn’t on the order and I never asked for anything like that. I ask if we can get material and appliqués in. She just says “I mean, I can call them if you want and see what I can do,” but makes it obvious that this is a huge inconvenience for her and that she clearly doesn’t care. I checked my receipt from my purchase, which does in fact state that extra material was supposed to be ordered.I want so badly to recommend this shop to other brides, but I can’t. It was so great to be able to walk in and try on everything, which is not the norm for a plus size bride. However, the manager Pam ruins this place. When I was actually able to reach someone, all I heard were excuses and misinformation. I now have a dress, but not the dress I really wanted. Normally I wouldn’t be upset about compromising something like sleeves, but for $1800 + alteration cost I was hoping to get what I wanted.

Wow. All I can say is wow. As a plus size woman, the idea of going dress shopping was very anxiety inducing. However, after seeing that this salon exclusively carried sizes for girls like me, I decided to give it a try.I wish I could rate this place 10 stars. From start to finish at my appointment I was incredibly well cared for and attended to. Every employee was so kind, helpful, and honest. You could tell that they weren't just trying to sell me a dress but put me in something I looked and felt beautiful in. They even let me wear my gown outside to see what it would look like in natural lighting. All of the gowns were beautiful and there was an incredibly diverse selection for every kind of bride. They even had a discounted section for thrifty girls like me! I found my dress, funny enough it was the first one we tried on!!! I felt so beautiful in my dress and I cannot wait to wear it. To the STELLAR team at brides of today, thank you so so much!!! My experience was beyond amazing! To other plus size women reading this review, GO HERE!!! You will absolutely not regret it! ??

At my appointment, I just kept saying “this place is magical” and it really is. Ronnie and Bev are incredible and made me feel so confident. As a plus size bride, it is a very special feeling to be able to try in every single dress and feel confident and beautiful. The natural lighting and decor of the shop set the tone for a fantastic experience. All bodies are not only accepted, but praised here. Can’t wait to say “I do” in my perfect dress that Ronnie found for me :)

I was there on 6/10/23. I just wanted to say thank you for a pleasant experience. I remember Dorthea because she assisted me with putting on the dresses. She was patient, kind and knowledgeable. Being a plus size bride has been stressful.Your shop was the first place where I didn't have anxiety and frustration. It was a good feeling to put on a dress that fit or was a little big.It gave me a better visual as to how the dress looked on me. I have been raving about your shop. It is a better experience when a plus size bride goes to a bridal boutique that caters to her size. I didn't purchase a dress, but I plan on coming back.Again thank you ladies ?Jacqueline Akins
