Be careful here. Some employees aren’t too friendly & have certain customer service characteristics that will drive a company out of business. Basic experience in renting a car. Walk in, get the car, then return car. $200-500 hold on a credit or debit is excessive & they do not care. You either put a 200-500 on hold or go *uck yourself is Hertz policy. If you plan to use a debit card to place the hold on, well, you have to wait 24 hrs from the VERY second you submit a rental request to able to use your debit card for the hold (check with your bank about extended holds on debit cards) so be sure to submit your car rental request at least 25hours in advance or THEY WILL 100% DENY YOU A RENTAL CAR if you come in within 24hrs of your rental submission. They denied me my rental car due to this unforeseen circumstance. Glad I had a ride to Hertz that day or I would’ve been walking 20+ miles home.
Enterprise employees are more reliable & at least smile when you walk in

ThIs Hertz location is staffed by great people who take the time to make sure your rental is all that it should be. I always find them helpful.

my husband & i had such a horrible experience.
i spoke to someone on the phone about coming in to rent a car while we were home visiting family (we live in texas). they informed me about how to go about doing so. when we arrived, we spoke to a gentleman there (different than who i had spoken to on the phone). my husband (20) has his drivers license that still says "junior" (military & out of state reasons) & the gentleman informed us it would be roughly about $30 extra a day per their policy & recommended we get extra coverage because of this. everything was going well until my husband's credit card didn't go through (forgot to inform the bank about out of state traveling & purchases). we told the man we would call the bank to let them know (our fault) & he proceeded to tell us that 'once you use the card once, it won't go through again, that's just how it works" & left in a rental car.
the other gentleman who worked there asked us what was going on so we informed him & after we got the bank situation figured out, he then said that their system "wouldn't allow someone with a junior license to rent a car" when it went through with his coworker. & they wouldn't allow me (21) to be the main driver & have my husband's credit card on file (i don't have a credit card). he insisted we call someone over the age of 25 to rent for us & add me as a secondary driver (which was only about $13 extra a day).
i called my mother who was generous enough to help us out in this situation & she rented it for us, added me as a secondary & we went about our day. we rented the car for may 8th to may 10th.
on may 10th, we went to fill the gas for the car to 3/4 full (as stated by the gentleman) & we ended up just filling it full since we didn't know exactly how much to put in, no worries (kept the receipt) we returned the car, all was said and done.
the next day, my mother gets an email & there is an additional charge ($25) for gas, & asked us if we filled the gas tank. we showed he the receipt & she called & the person she spoke with said it was a "mistake on their end" & that he would process her a refund. that was three weeks ago.
on 6/5, she called because the refund was still not in her account & the gentleman said that it was still "processing" on her end. she called corporate & explained all of this to them, only to find out that there was never a refund processed! the person at corporate had to process the refund & said she would recieve it within the next 3-7 business days.
definitely will not be returning or ever renting from this location again & would rather go elsewhere.

Can't return rental on weekend because they're closed. But they will turn around and charge you 2 extra days. Everybody out to get you.

Only gave 1 star so I could write a review. Had an emergency today with a vehicle and needed a rental. I only have a debit card which 80% of the world does. The older gentlemen you have working for you at this location lacks empathy and compassion. He was the rudest person I’ve encountered in a long time and should not have a job working in customer service. Instead I took my business down the street to Enterprise who got me in a vehicle in less than 10 minutes with the same information and payment I had for Hertz. Save yourself a trip and go a mile further down the road to Enterprise who will treat you with decency and respect.

My recent experience with Hertz Rent-A-Car was incredibly disappointing. The car I received was filthy, both inside and out, which was shocking for a paid rental. Also, Hertz failed to disclose additional charges, leaving me frustrated and feeling deceived. I expected better from a reputable company like Hertz and hope they address these issues to maintain customer trust.

My experience with Hertz Rent-A-Car was a series of disappointments. Firstly, my rental vehicle was late for pickup, causing me to be late in picking up my in-laws at the airport. To make matters worse, the car was incredibly filthy, forcing my husband and in-laws to spend their precious vacation time cleaning it. And to top it off, I was charged an exorbitant $130 for a $3 toll. This experience was frustrating and costly, leaving me with a negative impression of Hertz's service.

Excellent customer service. We used this location to drop off our rental to a different location from pick up (PHL airport). Hertz 800 number said this was only possible if the car was towed back to the airport at my expense. What!? Pottstown Hertz made it happen with a smile. Thanks guys!!
